Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 583 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many consumers frequently complain about receiving unexpected parking fines even after making proper payments, showing valid badges, or displaying their tickets. People also expressed deep frustration over extremely steep penalty charges and automated communication lines that feel completely unhelpful and rude. However, some customers also noted ongoing difficulties with parking machines failing to process payments or properly record vehicle registration details. Reviewers additionally mentioned that their formal appeals were consistently rejected by the organization despite providing clear and undeniable evidence. Visitors explained that poor mobile coverage and broken payment equipment in these parking locations created significant stress.

Incomplete reg on ticket

Sent me a PCN as the machine didn’t print out all the digits of the number plate. I’ve appealed but someone else locally has had same thing at same car park. I’m just chatting to them on FB. The dispute is not for avoiding payment but an incomplete reg. their machine is at fault. I’ve appealed to POPLA but what a scam. Not in their interests to fix the machine.

Cancer treatment costs a lot with Parkingeye

Having to take my mother for radiotherapy treatment at James Cook hospital we parked in the disabled parking area directly outside the unit,we then went to a payment point and followed the instructions to the letter,ie reg number, scanned the blue badge bar code and received the photo of our car entering then received a message clearly stating nothing to pay.
10 days later we received a parking letter demanding £70 or £42 if we paid within 14 days . We’ve appealed but after seeing the success rate is pathetically low at 19% I’m not hopeful.
Why oh why do The nhs get into bed with these gangsters.
I suppose a phone line to actually speak to someone would help, but typical of these cowards it’s not available.

Cash cow robbing company

Arrive at superstore in Pencarn Way to go to get fuel and then wait for 6am store opening to buy my lunch for day, as in office that day.

Arrive at 05.27 and fuel forecourt is closed off, out of fuel so decide to park up near entrance and wait the half hour til 6am.

Shop as usual and leave by 06.09, 42 mins later. This was Thu 2nd April.

16 April receive a PCN for arriving 05.27 and leaving 06.09, 42 mins. Apparently you can't arrive too early and.be patient to.wait for store to open at 6am. Ridiculous as if they look at camera footage they will see I arrive before 6am twice a week and always shop in store at opening.

It's just a cash cow robbing company and Labour party promised they would protect genuine people from such rogue companies but clearly not with this cowboy organisation issuing PCN to loyal Asda customers for arriving too early and staying too long, 42 mins despite shopping moment store opens at 6am because customer happy to wait.

Cr*p organisation

The chat function on the website does not give the option to ask a question not listed. There is no direct customer service number or email to query anything other than payments or appeals. Just a money making operation!

Paid the amount I was asked to pay!

Paid the amount I was asked to pay at Horton hospital but apparently that didn't cover my stay! Appealed and lost, I don't believe this company, I paid the amount requested? At a very stressful time this is not what you need! The NHS should boot these crooks out of the hospital car parks

Unscrupulous company - don't offer full refunds even when in the wrong

Awful company. Faulty equipment at the car park so I couldn't pay but after apealing still didn't provide 100% refund of penalty charge. Fined £60 - got £35 back! Who's fault is it the equipment wasn't working? Mine or theirs? Because I didn't go on their website and fill in an online form that is hidden away on their site to tell them the machine is faulty, they said I hadn't followed the correct procedures and so deducted a £25 Admin charge from the penalty refund! Not letting it rest and will take it to small claims court where they can incur a court fee as well as paying me what they should have refunded!

Avoid milton country park

Avoid milton country park! Paid the full amount available for the ticket. Clearly displayed the ticket and left well within the time frame. 1st they claimed i hadn't bought a ticket. I provided the ticket stub, they then said I hadn't bought a ticket straight away, when their own letter showed my entry time and the difference was me parking safely and walking to and queuing at the 1 and only ticket booth. Then they tried to say I didn't leave on time when, that was a load of rubbish as i wouldn't have been on time to pickup my kid if I hadn't. Appealed to popla who said I hadn't put in my whole registration when I got thr ticket. How else did I get the ticket then!?!?!?!! Disgusted and won't use again. Only parked int here to be able to leave super quick to get to my kid and back to my husband who at thr time had suffered a major heart attack, with i'd never bothered! They have also put their prices up massively since January. Rip off merchants!!!!

Enjoy lapping up our money, Philip Boynes and the other tyrants in this company, and others alike who sold their soul long ago. Enjoy your money on earth. Unfortunately you can't take it into the afterlife so I hope it was worth it!

Stopped to get a coffee at the Holiday…

Stopped to get a coffee at the Holiday Inn Norwich North as needed waking up as a self-employed maintenance/gardening person. Got a £100 parking fine in the post a few days later, as a paying customer and autism sufferer! This is a civil penalty and NOT legally enforceable, I appealed straight away and will not pay this and neither should you if you're reading this. This is an absolute disgrace and all the firms that use this should be ashamed. Every review on here says exactly the same!

Absolutely disgusting company - charged even though I wasn’t in a staff bay when taking my sick baby to the hospital

Absolutely disgusting company. I recently received a fine from “parking in a staff bay” at a hospital where I’ve been taking my 2-3 month old daughter for treatment since birth. I parked in the same part of the visitor car park I’ve always parked in, which is not in the staff section. Bearing in mind this car park is very busy and I was trying to get my baby in and out the car and to an appointment with a consultant, I then nearly two weeks later in the post receive a £70 fine for “parking in a staff space”. However, the letter does not include camera captured evidence of my car in said parking space, it only shows my car entering and leaving the car park. I have sent an appeal but will not likely hear back until the end of the process and I’m sure it will get upheld as always as it is my word against theirs apparently on what space I parked in that day. Plus if I don’t want to get whacked with needing to pay £70 I have to pay £42 by the end of the two week grace period. I’ve been taking my sick daughter to and from appointments since birth as well as attending a number of appointments at said hospital during a high risk pregnancy where I’ve handed over hundreds of £s in parking charges therefore receiving this in the post, it takes the mic. It’s left me stressed and in tears and the worst part is whilst not being paid on maternity. Plus are they just going to do it to us again when we go for our next appointment? What do I do? Film my car each and every time!! Disgusting.

I received a penalty notice for staying…

I received a penalty notice for staying over the 2 hour limit at my gym in Warrington. Notice showed my car entering and leaving the car park with times alongside. I've never spent 2 hours at a gym in my life. I appealed but had no proof. I contacted the gym and they asked me to send a copy of the notice. They checked their own CCTV and confirmed the actual entry and exit as being well below the 2 hour limit. They contacted Parking Eye and my penalty notice was cancelled. Seems I'm not the first victim of this scam and had the gym not gone out of their way and been so helpful I'd have had no choice other than to pay. Had I gone through the full appeal process I'd have also lost my entitlement to pay the discounted rate. Looks and sounds like criminal behaviour to me.

Terrible company!

My mum was given a parking charge, for overstaying her time. This she paid the half fee of £45 that was requested in a period of time, of which she fully accepted. She paid via her debit card, was given a receipt of "Conformation of payment" for the parking charge number, payment details were also on the receipt with the date and her address and the order number, basically EVERYTHING was proof of payment they had received. YET 6 days after payment she gets a Red Reminder. My Mum is 92, she's done everything correct with my help (daughter) yet this company are chasing her. Having read other reviews about Parking Eye makes me think that they need to get their facts right before using "bully-boy" tactics. They wont be getting anymore money from her for this fine, i'll make very sure of that. Perhaps, maybe, they need to change their name to, Parkingscam which is more appropriate!!! Don't bother to try to call them on the number given as they never answer, you are actually cut off at the end of their spiel!!!

Pond life

Pond life. When you appeal they don’t even review it - just wait two weeks and a generic auto decline is sent. They are scum of the earth allowed to behave this way by successive governments of all colours. Fine totally disproportionate in value to the supposed offence.
