misrepresentation

I purchased a Salvador Dalí “Destino No. 62” print from Park West Gallery during a cruise auction in July 2025.
At the auction, I was told I was purchasing a numbered edition. However, the artwork I received was an HC (hors commerce) proof, which was not disclosed at the time of sale. This distinction was only apparent after delivery.
There were also issues with the framing. The frame I received differed from what was shown at the auction and from comparable Park West examples, and the piece arrived with visible debris inside the frame.
I raised these concerns promptly and provided documentation. While Park West did offer to accept a return, they required me to pay return shipping costs. I did not believe it was appropriate to incur out-of-pocket expenses to return an item that differed from what was represented.
For context, I purchased another artwork from Park West at the same time and had no issues with that transaction. My concerns are specific to this piece.
The matter was ultimately resolved through my credit card company.
I would encourage prospective buyers to carefully review all documentation and clarify details such as edition type and framing before completing a purchase.

What a Fraudulent Company

What a Fraudulent Company. They ly and they cheet. On 26 of february 2026, I bought a big repreduction painting of Thomas Kinkade on the cruise ship (the Norwegion Escape). I paid €1200 for it, which is far to much. But I definately wanted to buy it for my granddaughter.
They send me a very small picture (1/4 of the original size). THis size was never in the exposition on the ship.
The answers on several of my letters of objection were a FRAUD !!!
DON'DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

I can not say much about my Park West…

I can not say much about my Park West prints which I grossly overpaid for but I am looking forward to my upcoming six cruises we just booked. I will not miss Park West's free champagne or clown show. Maybe this time the auctioneer will speak better English but it looks like Park West does not hire Americans. Maybe that explains how this company operates. But what the heck if I am entertained. Look forward to the clown show.

Utterly disgusted with this company!

I am so disgusted with this company. I purchased an art piece while on a cruise and upon arriving home had a family medical emergency that greatly affected my finances. I reached out to Park West Galleries explaining my family’s situation and asked them to not send the art because I would not be able to pay for it. I sent them ALL the documents they requested concerning my situation including pics and medical bills. They still sent the art piece MULTIPLE times to each time I refused delivery of it. I have continually been harassed via letters, phone calls,

Norwegian Bliss Cruise Line X Park West Gallery

Had an amazing experience on the Norwegian Bliss cruise line with Park West Gallery. Okeim Richards was an amazing Gallery Director. He was very knowledgable about every piece of art and gave details that enhanced the art viewing and buying experience. I bought 4 pieces.

I went on a cruise Dec 1 and purchased…

I went on a cruise Dec 1 and purchased art. My written info says allow up to 12 weeks. No art yet. Now PW is saying it can take longer than 12 weeks. PW says my art is still on the ship floating around but they don’t know where. PW is also saying that the art can only come off ship at certain ports and only a certain amount of art at a time. I was told a supervisor would call me. No call. I requested a refund. Nope cause my paperwork says no refunds but it also says up to 12 weeks. They pick and choose which statements they want to hold on it. NCL partners with PW and is just as guilty of bad service. I would run from PW. They r a bad company

Beware of this business

Note: This review was revised after receiving a legal notice requesting its removal. The facts described are accurate.
I attended a Park West Gallery auction and purchased two pieces of artwork after being told by a sales representative that both were original works. Both were explicitly represented to me as original paintings with no digital medium involved. Those assurances were a significant factor in my decision to buy.
After doing my own research and following up through several independent channels, I learned that one piece is actually a digitally printed canvas with hand-applied embellishments, and the other is a mass-reproduced work. Neither of these facts was disclosed to me before or during the sale.
It is worth noting that Park West's own website uses the term "giclee" when listing comparable works. That word never appeared on my invoice and was never mentioned by anyone I spoke with. I paid prices that reflected original artwork and received something categorically different on both counts.
I attempted to cancel before either piece had been delivered and was refused. I no longer have my money, and Park West retains the artwork.
This experience is not isolated. Park West Gallery has a well-documented record of consumer complaints and has faced multiple lawsuits over allegations of artwork misrepresentation.

I am sharing my experience so that people are aware of their horrible customer service.

I am sharing my experience so that other buyers can make an informed decision.

I purchased artwork from Park West Gallery with the expectation of receiving reasonable guidance and support throughout the delivery and import process, especially given the premium nature of the purchase. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

After the artwork was shipped internationally, it became stuck in customs due to missing or unclear information that, during the sales process, I was explicitly told was “just a formality” and would not cause any issues. Once the problem arose, I received no practical assistance from Park West Gallery to help resolve the situation.

Instead of offering support or solutions, all communication after the issue focused exclusively on pointing me back to contractual clauses, without acknowledging how the situation had been handled or the expectations set during the sale. The tone shifted from attentive and proactive before the sale to distant and procedural once a problem occurred.

While I understand that contracts exist to define responsibilities, I believe a gallery operating at this level should also demonstrate accountability, transparency, and customer care when complications arise — especially when those complications stem from guidance provided by their own representatives.

Ultimately, this experience led me and my family to decide that we no longer wish to engage with Park West Gallery in any capacity. I hope this review helps other collectors understand what to expect should any issues arise after purchase.

I went on a carnival cruise from Feb 7 to 12. Bought 2 beautiful framed prints. I was told they could take 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. I just received the second one today, only 13 days later!

Mattie Buffalo and Petros were great! I enjoyed the auction!

Exceptional Park West Experience at Sea

I recently sailed on the Royal Princess (January 24–31, 2026) and had an exceptional experience with the Park West Gallery team onboard. I’ve attended many Park West events over the years, but the associates on this sailing delivered the most memorable experience I’ve had to date.

Their knowledge of the artwork was impressive, but what truly stood out was the atmosphere they created — warm, welcoming, and completely free of high‑pressure tactics. They made the gallery feel inviting and personal, and every interaction felt genuine. It was the kind of environment where you found yourself stopping by simply because you enjoyed being there.

The auctions were lively, well attended, and clearly successful, and it was easy to see how much the associates contributed to that energy. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism, enthusiasm, and hospitality, making the entire process enjoyable whether you were a seasoned collector or just browsing.

Park West should be proud of the team representing them on this sailing. They not only made purchasing art a pleasure, they added real joy to my cruise experience. I look forward to attending future Park West events.

Norwegian Gem

First, I was greeted by someone in the management staff by the name of Asanda. We got to talk about how my favorite artist was Ramiro Brito since I grew up living in Miami and how my eye had been drawn to the multiple pieces that they had in the gallery from him and even up until that point, just having friendly conversation, in the back of my head I was just waiting for it…the hard sale. But to my surprise it never came. It just seems like a genuine conversation, between two people about an artist that they shared commonalities an interest with. She insisted that I come to an art auction that they were gonna be having later in the cruise. I hesitantly took the paper, thinking again that artwork at this level is not for people like me nonetheless I took the flyer and told her I would be there.(not even believing the words as they were coming out of my own mouth.)
The next day I woke up and I looked at the schedule for the ship, and I saw that the art gallery was having a a seminar on Thomas Kincaid. The name didn’t ring a bell, but I told myself that she was really friendly and that I was gonna be on this ship for 12 days so why not. I made my way to the gallery, sat down and met the auctioneer named Sal. We started looking at some of Thomas Kincaid‘s works that were displayed up on the wall and he went into explicit detail of a particular piece that really drew me in. He talked about the old cars, Normal Rockwell (whose name sounded familiar to me) and and how he was regularly featured in his works as well as Chuck Norris of all people. This particular painting also features Kinkaide in his own work, painting a Kinkaid, with the Kinkaid family outside of a Kinkaid studio. We then looked at another one with a Gazebo and stream that just struck my husband to which Sal then went into further narrative about that piece of work. Sale wasn’t just telling a story, he was bringing this piece of art to life for us both. After that seminar and watching that slideshow about Thomas Kincaid, I can honestly say that I learned so much and saw how it tied into his artwork so many different ways that I fell in love. The way Sal just evoked emotion in me and brought it to life on the canvas just instantly changed everything for me. I WANTED MORE. I WANTED MORE KNOWLEDGE. I WANTED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OTHERS…so I came again the next day. They were having a scavenger hunt and in this moment I had a chance to interact with the other staff there. (Sine, Shivam, Carmen, and Enoch.) It was such a sigh of relief to find out that it wasn’t just a fluke finding someone so friendly and knowledgeable in Sal and Asanda, but with each and every one of them. Over the next 10 days on that cruise I can honestly say that I spend more time in that art gallery that I did in the buffet or even in my own bed. From from learning about The Devine Comedy series from Dali, to the Color palette of Peter Max and how significant of a role he played in the city I was born, New York, to Kre8 who I found out was half Puerto Rican just like me, to Jim Warrens ability to evoke so much emotion, to Godards sense of quirkiness, I just wanted more. This team jelled so well with each other and made me feel so much like family that on the last day, I purposely made my appointment after the auction to close out my invoice as the last one of the night. I personally wanted to thank one of them for changing my life forever.

Have been on many cruises and I see things

Have been on many cruises, (50+),attended many Park West Art Auctions, and paid very close attention to the details and behaviors of those involved, as well as scouring complaint boards regarding PW business practices. Something just didn't seem quite right from the start.
One thing is clear, they are not in the business to satisfy their customers, or properly address complaints.
I would be suspect of any positive reviews posted, as many follow repetitive, boiler plate styles of writing- especially those that specifically point out individual's names, dates, etc as being 'wonderful' representatives.
Sad that not only can we not trust the actual business, but neither can we trust the reviews to be genuine.

STAY AWAY!!

STAY AWAY!!! If you got here because you're on a cruise or thinking about making a purchase with Park West Gallery... JUST DON'T!!! I can't tell if this company is a scam, corrupt or just down right incompetent but something is wrong here. I bought a piece on a cruise and their rep says it's a limited edition of 200 (not to mention it says out of 200 on the piece itself). Well, not only did I not receive the actually piece I bought at auction but their appraisal comes with the piece weeks later and it says there are nearly 2,000 of these. I wish I had searched eBay before buying because there are so many of this company's pieces being sold on there by other buyers it's crazy. I saw one sell on eBay for $206.50 that went for far more at their auction. WoW!!! Just search eBay for all these limited edition pieces. People have more listed for sale there than you can imagine. I wonder why!!!

Bad expirience

The art is not legitimate and I always get the wrong frame. The staff was lovely except the auctioneer Lee, he was so rude and condescending. He continuously would say rude things on the mic and speak in a different language.

Good service, albeit with a slight delay....

After lengthy delays, caused by an overbearing FedEx employee, my paintings have arrived. Initially, the support from Park West Gallery was somewhat lacking, but they then identified the problem and resolved everything professionally and to my complete satisfaction. THANK YOU.

ParkWest send your Art via FedEx, and I have nothing good to say about how the deliveries are managed by FedEx, but any issues ParkWest washes their hands from it. No Service or assistance. Shocking trading practise if they expect repeat business for serious collectors

Horrible after purchase service and nothing but lies.

We purchased several pieces of art from Park West on a cruise on April 8, 2025. At the time of the purchase we let PW know that we would be travelling for the next 5 months starting April 27th and would not be home until sometime in September. They assured us that the art would either ship prior to the 27th or would be held until September. Nothing but lies. Since our departure several pieces have shipped so we have scrambled to arrange for deliveries to friends and neighbors. They use FedEx for shipping and that has been nothing but a nightmare. Shipments arriving damaged, late, missed appointments and they can't seem to walk and chew gum at the same time. Right now we have a 4K piece that is in limbo with FedEx, missed scheduled delivery, another 2K piece that has gone missing, and keep contacting the wrong individual so no deliveries are possible. If you are thinking about attending an art auction on a cruise, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

Do Not Buy From Park West!!!

We purchased a Yaacov Agam Polymorph, costing many thousands of dollars from Park West. Like other collectors, the painted paper is separating from the substrate on the polymorph.

After reaching out to Parkwest regarding restoration, the disposition was as per the following:

"Unfortunately, restoring this piece presents significant challenges and risks, as any restoration effort could compromise the originality of the artwork.

At this stage, applying a protective preservation method will help preserve the artwork’s integrity. However, please be aware that transporting the piece back to us from Australia poses a considerable risk of damage. For this reason, we highly recommend seeking assistance from a local conservator, who may also be able to suggest the most appropriate preservation method"

Parkwest during their pitches maintain they can restore all artwork sold by them when or if the requirement arises. The piece is in a temp controlled environment / 22 Degree C, artificially illuminated and no direct sunlight.

Given the cost of the piece (in addition to the intrinsic value it represented) along with numerous other purchases we have made from Park West including Peter Max, Multiple Britto, Marcus Glenn, Ron Agam, Ilayev and Godard, I cannot honestly say I would recommend or purchase from Park West gallery again in the future. We purchased for intrinsic value, not based upon any other factor including PW overstated valuations and have in the past disregarded unfavourable reviews of ParkWest.

My forthcoming review will hopefully enable others to avoid making the same mistake I made purchasing an Agam.

Park West Gallery are very similar to market stall sellers, frequently and knowingly overvaluing pieces of artwork and worse of all do not stand behind their quick sign here sales tactics or after sale support.

Avoid at all costs

As noted by previous reviewers, after sales service is absolutely diabolical. Once they have your money, they really don't care. A case of buyer beware! Please warn elderly family relatives not to pay inflated prices on cruises. I doubt a fraction of the price paid goes to the actual artist.
