Horrible company

Horrible company, they dont reconcile any accounts, make tons of mistakes in payments/calculations, pay you short and late. Once you point this out they will just ignore you and stop paying you or responding.

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT get paid by an…

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT get paid by an umbrella company if that’s what an agency is putting you on. They are a bunch of legal scammers! I did 40 hours for an agency on 11.70 and got paid £219 that’s less than minimum wage net pay hahah. They take all sorts off you that I’ve never even heard of, they even take money of out your wage to pay THEM to use their services even though it’s not your decision 😂 joke of a company! Avoid like your life depends on it... unless you like doing free labour

DON'T JOIN

Awful, do not join. My agency wanted me to transfer to this payment scheme from PAYE because they "pay a little more," however as soon as I sent my bank details over their company, HSBC, tried to take £250 from my bank account. I then researched more into Payme and found this is an issue with many other people and they take a large cut of your earnings (sometimes all of it) so you are left with very little money. Stick to PAYE, much better.

My agency decided to use them

My agency decided to use them. I was then phoned and asked for bank details. I clarified with the agency who told me this was legit. All I wanted was the money that I had earned so I signed up. NOTE: as soon as you do so, as far as PayMe are concerned you are 'their' employee. However, they will not pay ANY of the statutory deductions an employer should make. Therefore I was surprised to find I was paying (along with a £10 fee for using the service): an 'Apprentice Levy' which should be paid for by an employer; National Insurance contributions, (both employee and employer!!), and for my holiday entitlement - this was also docked from my pay and then for some reason given back (even though I took no holiday). Avoid like the plague. Not sure if it's even legal. Certainly sure it ain't ethical.
