Carefull!PayPal just doesn’t enforce the level of protection.
I am extremely disappointed with PayPal’s dispute resolution and customer support.
I reported a charge related to a subscription that was not clearly disclosed at the time of payment. I did not knowingly agree to any billing agreement, and the terms were not transparent. Despite this, PayPal closed the case in favor of the seller without providing meaningful investigation or clear evidence of my consent.
The support experience was equally frustrating — long waiting times, generic copy-paste responses, and no real attempt to address my concerns. I had to repeatedly ask for clarification and still did not receive a satisfactory explanation.
What is most concerning is that PayPal seems to rely solely on the existence of a “billing agreement,” even when there are strong indications that the subscription terms were misleading or hidden. This leaves customers unprotected.
Instead of resolving the issue, I was told to contact the seller or even involve the police, which is not what I expect from a company that promotes buyer protection.
This experience has significantly reduced my trust in PayPal. I would advise others to be very careful with PayPal.
