AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

I bought a cheese and ham baguette from the counter and that is all it said on the sign. The lady warmed it up and gave it to me. When I got to the ward to eat it I had to put it in the bin after one bite because it had mustard in it. I went into the branch again at Watford General hospital to check I had not misread the signage. I had not so I asked for a refund. He said that is a supervisory question. So I spoke to the other guy. First of all he said they were waiting on new signage. I suggested they advise customers until signage arrives. He said they can't do that as it is not their responsibility to state ingredients and that I should look on the tablet to check before I buy. Neither of them offered an apology or seemed interested. They have either a lack of training or don't care about your brand our your customers. I visited approx 11.30 and apart from couple waiting fir something it was empty so they can't blame the service on being busy. Ham and cheese is my favorite and have been buying them from various places for years and this is the first time I have purchased from you and will be the last. I gave your supervisor the opportunity to put it right and give me a refund as I really did not want to resort to this feedback. But now I have seen how bad you are doing on this feedback site it makes perfect sense why you don't have a feedback option that is public. Come on you can do better than this surely

The cheese and tomato toasties was the…

The cheese and tomato toasties was the only hot option and that was bland and tasteless, the baguette was stodgie and bland, but being positive, the coffee was ok, fairly standard, but the total price for a captive hospital customer was extortionate, wouldn't do that again!!!

The girl was horrible server

The girl was totally uncovered, served me a americano with lid on, I had said I wanted to add milk, the coffee was so hot it melted the lid to a different shape altogether, the girl stood and watched me struggle, too young to apologise. The sandwich toasty was not cut through the ham and as I tried to separate it the sandwich disassembled, 9 pounds wasted, greasy cheese all over my table, no serviettes given

Peabodys coffee in the Royal Sussex…

Peabodys coffee in the Royal Sussex County Hospital ;Brighton is a tiny café serving the whole hospital patients and visitors.
They do not have a single item of food which is dairy free for those with allergies.
They do not have sufficient staff, this Saturday morning there is just one member of staff.
So visitors and hospital staff are queuing for long periods.

New
I just went into the restaurant at St Richards hospital and asked for tagliatelle. The person behind the counter didn't know what it was, even though it was up on the board behind him and on the menu. He then asked if I meant pizza. I tried to explain but he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. In the end I gave up

Never again

Never again
We ordered Lasagne at lunch time and struggled to find any meat in it. Just a mass of pasta and some sort of white sauce. A chocolate muffin that was crumbly and dry. We paid for the meal and then had to queue up again at the drink and snack counter to get teas while the meal got cold. They were paid for separately. Clearly organised for their benefit and not for the customers. Not a pleasant experience. Shall not be visiting again.

A Disappointing Experience

I have visited the different Peabody's Coffee shops in St George's Hospital many times, and unfortunately, my experience was consistently disappointing, particularly given the café's convenient hospital location where one would expect efficient, compassionate service.

The most glaring issue was the poor customer service. During my visits, staff members appear consistently disengaged and uninterested in serving customers. One member of staff was more focused on chatting with a colleague than attending to customers, which created an unprofessional atmosphere. The service feels lackadaisical, with staff displaying what I can only describe as "stony faces" and an apparent reluctance to engage with patrons - the opposite to claims of empathic staff on their website.

There have been significant problems with order management during my visits. Staff forget to prepare ordered items - in one instance, a cup of tea was overlooked entirely. When mistakes occurred, there seemed to be confusion about billing, with attempts to charge twice for items that hadn't been prepared initially. This lack of attention to detail is concerning, especially when the café wasn't busy.

The staff appear to lack basic customer service training. Many were distracted, engaging in personal conversations with colleagues or using mobile phones whilst on duty. This behaviour suggests a need for improved management oversight and comprehensive customer service training programmes.

The pricing feels excessive for the quality provided. Paying £3.70 for a latte that arrives half-filled and predominantly foam represents poor value. Customers deserve properly prepared beverages for these prices.

It's particularly disappointing because the cafés occupy such convenient locations within the hospital. This should be a thriving business serving patients, visitors, and staff who rely on quick, reliable service during often stressful times.
