Visited the restaurant in Silk Willoughby for lunch last Saturday. We ordered Jacket Potatoes - one with coleslaw, one with cheese. We chose them because they were described as ‘Oven Baked’and expected a crispy skinned, steaming hot potato. I’m afraid that both potatoes were lukewarm and the texture was mushy and tasted slightly sweet. Ordinarily, I would have asked for a replacement but we were pushed for time and so ploughed through it. Very disappointed as we have previously been delighted with the food here.

We had lunch and had a fabulous Vegan menu to choose from. The food was fresh and delicious with a short waiting time. The prices were very reasonable and the staff were super helpful and polite. If the Vegan menu continues we shall become lunchtime regulars!

We had restaurant meal which was excellent as usual, and afterwards made a snap decision on buying a large item....staff exceptional and item delivered that afternoon ...real pleasure to be looked after particularly as both of us have mobility issues....Van dri er helped to store item and nothing too much trouble... well done

What on earth have they done at Pennells Silk Willoughby. You now have to walk a VERY long way from the car park and within the store and I am not sure any elderly customers will enjoy that

My husband and I popped to Pennells today to hopfully pick up a few cardboard boxes, as we are moving house soon. On a previous visit when we were shopping there we came through the checkout after paying for our items and saw the boxes. We asked the lady on the till if we could take some and she said of course. On todays visit a rather curt member of staff on the till told us the boxes were for cutomers to put their plants in and could only take 1. We visit pennells regularly, have breakfast in the restaurant, shop at different sections and love the garden centre. We have always brought in pots and plant trays for others, which is a great way of sharing and helping the planet. My husband and I came away upset by her manner and found it unbelievable that we could not take some boxes. Our visit was Wednesday 17th around 2pm. We feel quite negative about coming to the garden centre again, which is sad because the staff are usually very friendly.

Good service when there was a delay in delivery of some garden furniture. Very well stocked garden centre, reasonable prices, and cared for plants. App to earn points on purchases. Pleasant cafe too.

Went to the Lincoln store as I was in the area, it used to have a good reputation...but not now! The place is so full of concessions! I went to the plant area as I understood they used to be good at growing Clematis & climbers but what a sight the plant area was! Not one member of staff was seen out there at 3pm, many plants were so dry they were struggling, weeds 4" high in many pots = poor housekeeping standards and the climbing plant section was a total disaster! All the clematis had grown into each other and not just in the last couple of days, it had been going on for some time - impossible to shop! The only member of staff that did talk to me was the cashier (they have to as they cannot run away or hide). I don't write this as a moany old git but someone who has been in the garden centre trade for over 30 years, this site is a big disappointment, will not be going back1 EVER!!

Fantastic customer service. Wanted a certain item of garden furniture. Staff could not have been more helpful, reserving the items i wanted to purchase until i could get into the store in Sleaford to pay for them & then arranging delivery. 5 stars out of 5.

Called in for a bit of shopping and lunch. We had steak ale and mushroom pie, lamb casserole and dumplings and roast beef. All the food was very tasty, hot and a good portion. Really enjoyed our meal. Thank you.
All the staff were very polite, chatting to us and very helpful.
We have had meals here before and we have never had cause to complain. Well worth a visit.

Every time we go to pennels lincoln we never fail to be impressed, this is a fantastic garden center, lots of fabulous products, the Christmas display is as usual fantastic, the garden plant's are very well looked after & in fabulous condition, the food in the restaurant is very very nice,a big thumbs 👍 up to all the staff who are very pleasant & nothing is too much for them, well done pennels.

Seriously overpriced restaurant!
Popped in for lunch for two. Waited very long time for ordering and service.very basic paying and small slice of quiche, bith with small handful of chips and tiny salad. With filter coffee and water, a rip off £25!!
So disappointed and ripped off.

Attend gy,/Cleethorpes garden centre restaurant. It was mid afternoon, so not to busy the coffee was not hot enough (cappuccino) which had gone because of a 35, min wait for food. A slice of cake was horrible tasted like lard hubby said it was a parkin mix but was a sponge cake slice. Very disappointed afternoon, the only thing that saved the garden center was the variety of items and plants. Would not choose to use restaurant again.

Purchased 2 boxes of solar operated garden lights, 5 lights in each box, cost over £40.Unfortunately when i tried them out only one out of each box lit up, on inspection it was revealed that all the batteries were out of date.I remembered that there were dozens of these boxes and thought of how many upset people there must have been.

Pennells Garden Centre Restaurant Sleaford.
Restaurant manager looked after my family of 4 so well, as we'd called earlier to book an Afternoon Tea for 4 persons however the person on the phone said they only book for minimum of 6 persons which quite frankly is ridiculous!
So we went along today (Saturday) to have regular tea and cake, however the manager was very apologetic and went out of her way to arrange a full tea sandwich and cake selection for my elderly parents and me and my sister and made our day! 😀

Terrible stock management.

Placed an order for an item they listed as in stock, turns out they didn't have it after all. They didn't seem that bothered when they emailed either.

Wouldn't use them again as there's no guarantee they'll actually deliver.

I recently returned a dying blue spruce, within the 3 Yr period they guarantee and with the receipt! It thrived for the first year then it stopped growing and started to look sick. I watered it regularly and fed it. It was in a large container so I moved it to a different spot. I was accused of not looking after it by the staff at Pennells and that they would exchange it this once but didn't want to see me again with a return!! They made me feel like a liar.

Had the pleasure of being looked after by Ruby, nothing was too much trouble. Found out when a new order was coming, checked stock in other shops. Customer Care exceptional. Such a pleasure.

The staff couldn't have been less interested today when I called to buy a specific plant. 'We'll probably have some in the Autumn' was the disinterested reply to my query. So, I came home and went on-line and bought the plant I wanted. I'll not be returning anytime soon to Pennells.
