Avoid Peplows Timber At All Costs

We commissioned three large timber doors from this company to be installed at our property. The process was difficult from the outset, with repeated chasing required simply to secure an installation date. The doors were eventually fitted in April, after which one door developed a significant split. We provided photographs and Jon initially accepted that the wood was faulty and agreed to replace it.

What followed was a prolonged and frustrating experience. Jon reversed his position several times, offering various explanations, despite both his fitter and later Jon himself confirming the wood was defective. Securing a replacement date required persistent chasing, and it ultimately took five months for a new door to be delivered. The day before the agreed installation, the appointment was cancelled. When the replacement door finally arrived, it had a visible dent. We declined the offer to have it taken away and repaired, given the extensive delays already experienced. No apology or compensation was offered.

Based on our experience, the organisation demonstrated poor reliability, inadequate customer service, and a lack of accountability.
