Uncompassionate, disorganised and greedy
Not even worth 1 star - This is a genuine review, all facts detailed below Pet Practice are aware of.
We were loyal customers of Pet Practice Salisbury for nearly 14 years
Received excellent care until Anne (one of the vets) passed away in Sept'22
Following this the practice began to decline in service and care, seeing a high turnover in Vets and other staff. Yet we remained loyal, hoping they would resolve things.
Beginning of March'24 our cat was injured and we spent nearly every day at the vet that week, every appointment with a locum vet. The cat staying in all day on the Monday, booked for pick up at 5:45 with 5yr old with me and 2yr old in the car with Dad, and the constant promise 'you're next'...In the end we didn't walk out of the Practice until 07:50pm! Kids had no dinner and past their bedtime, no apology.
It was later this same week I took our beloved dog in with the cat for one of her reviews. It was during this visit we were told our dog was approaching the end and we had a week, max, we gave our amazing girl a final hurrah over the weekend with a beach trip and ice creams to say goodbye the following Monday.
When we turned up for this awful event we were met with yet another locum vet, one neither of us had ever met before.
We were offered a paw print and fur clippings free of charge by the Practice, which of course we agreed and were grateful for. We were prepared to pay for this service by the cremation company, but we took the Practice up on their offer, a mistake which is now unfixable.
Around 2 weeks later, 27th March, I visit to pick up our girls' ashes and ask where are the fur clippings and paw print, I get told, 'can't find them, really busy, we'll look later and call you tomorrow'
Next day, 28th March, no call, so I pop back into the Practice, I sit and wait for over 30 minutes, to then be called into a consultation room by another vet to be told 'so sorry we can't find them, it was a locum vet etc' however, the nurse who asked us on the day about where we'd like the clippings from, was there and denying any part/memory of the event. I was promised that the Practice would contact the agency and locum vet to get an update/explanation and get back to me as soon as possible, following the Easter weekend.
Friday 5th April no contact/update, so I am left to chase again, this time to management. Considering the upset we're already in and the additional lack of care/service we expected a quick response from the family business that promises 'to provide exceptional, personalised veterinary care from a trusted team'. Yet, I had to chase the management too, again on Wednesday 10th April. Finally get a response on 11th, apologising but no specific explanation regarding the whereabouts of the missing paw print/fur clippings and making excuses for all our concerns due to struggling since Anne passing. This was over 18 months ago and during this time Pet Practice has focused their efforts on expanding rather than addressing this failing Practice, focusing on quantity vs quality. This has become an uncompassionate, disorganised and greedy business (now 12 Practices and a drive for more) - there is no personal touch and/or compassion.
This has been very traumatic for us as and our young family, especially as like many, our pets are very much part of the family. We have now left and found a smaller local vets and so are others we have spoken to.
