Excellent weekend at Windmill Hill
Excellent weekend at Windmill Hill with my Cub Scout pack.
Everything went as planned, 10 activities completed with many of the cubs pushing their boundaries way beyond what we - or they expected!
Food was great, rooms were clean and well planned and the PGL leaders we had with us were fantastic!
I’d been as a leader before but this time I was the organising leader and it was better than the previous time 3 years ago…
We will definitely be back!
PGL Discovery stay at Liddington
My son went on a discovery two night stay at the Liddington camp in Wiltshire and came back enchanted. He was very well looked after by his group leader and other members of the team. Communication with parents was excellent. A great range of outdoor activities was provided throughout the stay. My son came back with a greater sense of self confidence and independence.

ADHD & autism but The camp team were brilliant with him
A wide range of activities
A wide range of activities, really friendly staff. Great food and accommodation.
A hassle free break with young children
It was easy to book - using a provisional date until we could confirm numbers.
The instructors were superb, knowledgeable and approachable.
The food was great - well labelled for dietary and cultural considerations. When some of our party were delayed the canteen staff made up sandwiches for them as some folk arrived after the canteen shut. The canteen staff interacted well with our children.
Our team leader Tobyn entertained the children well and was very patient and tolerant with them. They loved his costumes.
Everyone enjoyed learning new songs to sing between activities. There was no hanging around waiting for things to happen, the activities followed on one after another and no-one had time to be bored or homesick. The programme was well balanced with a physical activity followed by something less strenuous. The instructors knew their subject well and gave clear instructions.
Considering the amount of food on offer and the varied activities, the cost of £150.00 was extremely reasonable.
The food was horrible
The activities were amazing but the food was horrific, I couldn't even bring my self to eat. The meat was dangerously undercooked, the yoghurt was 12 days beyond its expiry date. Many kids on my trip had fallen ill.
A few had rashes, hopefully due to the rough pillow cases and not the lots of bugs in and around the room. There were dead flies in the showers, or should I say the only shower that worked. There was a dorm for twenty one kids but luckily only fourteen where in it only because only one of the two showers in James Dorm worked so even when we where allowed in our dorms there wasn't enough time to get showers.
I had to go home early and miss the causeway walk because I was sick and trembly and I wasn't the only one there were multiple other students saying how sick they felt. The trip was over £300 and I feel as though we deserve a refund. The accommodation was an essential part of the residential trip and we were disappointed to have been let down so badly.

Room sizes were good and all accommodation was in one area.
Some activities cut short due to inclement weather but no alternatives planned.
Large party with specific catering needs but not always enough choice available.
