Excellent Customer Service

Took delivery of my Range Rover Sport and had a small issue on the day the EML came on. Kate and Ellie were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They got the car in straight away, diagnosed the problem, and had everything sorted within 24 hours. I was back in my car the next day with zero hassle. Fantastic service and a team you can really trust. Highly recommend.

After accepting delivery of my Jaguar F-type, I was looking forward to a weekend of breaking in my new toy. Unfortunately shortly after setting off I had a warning light on my dash. I contacted the aftersales team and Ellie got back to me and thoroughly explained the process of getting this resolved through A1 and using a garage local to me to speed up getting me back on the road. I won't hesitate to contact Ellie if I need help in the future although I'm sure that won't be necessary.

Terrible After sales, Terrible Customer Service

Avoid Phantom Motors at all costs.

My experience buying a Range Rover Sport from Phantom Motors in Hindley has been one of the worst consumer experiences I have ever had.

When I first viewed the vehicle I pointed out several issues, including damaged paint on the bonnet and a tear in one of the seats. The salesman assured me these would all be repaired before I collected the car. When collection day came, none of the issues had actually been fixed, and the attempt to repair the bonnet paintwork was extremely poor.

During collection they also attempted to tell me that my trade-in vehicle required new brake discs and pads and asked for an additional £600, on top of a hidden £400 admin fee. I refused as the car had just passed an MOT with no advisories and had also been inspected by Tesla with no brake issues. The £600 demand suddenly disappeared once challenged.

Shortly after taking the car home, the vehicle developed a strong burning oil smell which made the car undriveable.

I attempted to contact Phantom Motors repeatedly. I sent around 30 messages and emails and made over 60 phone calls, receiving barely any response.

Eventually I had no choice but to formally reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Even then, my complaint email went unacknowledged for weeks.

The vehicle was returned to the dealership and has now been sitting with Phantom Motors for weeks while I am left without a car for my family but still paying the finance.

To make matters worse, the dealer has now admitted that several of the issues which were supposed to be repaired before sale still haven’t been fixed, including the seat tear and bodywork.

The matter has now been escalated to the finance company Alphera Financial Services, who are investigating the rejection.

The level of communication, aftersales support, and general handling of this situation has been shocking.

If you are considering buying a car from Phantom Motors, I would strongly recommend trying to contact their aftersales department repeatedly before you buy — because that is the level of service you should expect once they already have your money.

Buyers beware.

Not trust this company

This company is not to be trusted. I purchased a Mercedes eVito van which was mis-sold to me, particularly regarding the mileage. After leaving an initial negative review, they eventually agreed to take the van back.

However, the matter has still not been properly resolved. I remain registered as the keeper of the vehicle since August 2025 and have continued to receive DVLA fines, as well as a recent parking penalty.

I have sent numerous emails to several departments, including the business manager, Bradley who has denied, but the issue remains unresolved. Following what I consider to have been a very rude conversation with the business manager, I now feel I have no choice but to warn others about my experience.

So Phantom Motors have replied with my lies as ive emailed a complaint to the Director on the 13th of March with no reply.

Aftersales experience

Bought a Range Rover Sport and had a few issues after collection. I spoke to Ellie in the aftersales team. She explained that there isn’t a courtesy car available for me at the moment but I could pop in for a quick check on my car, and she’d get any parts ordered so I could come back rather than leave my car there doing nothing. She kept in regular contact with me as things progressed and I’m really happy with the service I received!

DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!!!!

DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!!!!

Purchased our vehicle a couple of years ago and paid a LOT of money for the vehicle and the extended warranty. The guys said that the warranty covers most things and that making a claim is really easy and you’ll have peace of mind for the next 3 years. Great. I’m sold. Car ran amazing the last couple years. Still is. However after our recent vehicle service and inspection, the mechanic found that the bearings on the lower arms have failed as the oil has leaked out (common fault upon reading up about it online). Cannot replace just the bearing, needs the whole lower arms. Checked my warranty book. Arms are covered. Fantastic. Contacted warranty company. Spoke to a rude man who spoke to me like he didn’t believe what I was saying!! Sent report and quote and copies of service records.

Email back today saying because the service was a few weeks past the date the car popped up to say it needed a service, they won’t cover it!! It has been serviced once a year since we’ve owned it. What difference does a couple of weeks make!! Also the bearings failing are nothing to do with if the car was serviced on time or a few weeks later!!!

Also trying to say it’s wear and tear…. The garage has confirmed the bearings have failed. Yet the warranty company refuse to pay.

Was going to update our car in the next couple of months and wanted to get one from phantom again, 50k plus budget (cash buyer). Well done phantom for loosing out on over 50k for the sake of a £500 warranty claim.

So my message to any future customer reading this is….. DO NOT pay for the extended warranty!!! Actually, just don’t bother giving this company your money!!

SHOCKING AFTERCARE

bought a range rover sport from them recently and has had nothing but problems to which they don’t want to know. Behind the flashy showroom and high resolution vehicle images lies cars that seem to be plagued with issues and an aftercare set up that are almost impossible to get hold of. My car has been with them for 3 weeks and they are now refusing to help him resulting in him having to apply to the finance company to formally reject the vehicle. Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews as the pushy sales staff get customers to complete these before leaving with their new car

I purchased my car from Phantom

I purchased my car from Phantom, and initially, the buying process was smooth and professional. I trusted the company and felt confident in my purchase.

However, I am extremely disappointed with the warranty provider nominated by the dealership, A1 Approved Limited. I purchased the Gold Warranty for peace of mind, expecting proper support if any mechanical issues occurred.

Unfortunately, when my car developed a genuine problem, the claims process became very frustrating. I was repeatedly asked for photos, videos, and additional evidence multiple times. Each time documents were provided, more information was requested. Eventually, the claim was refused.

This experience has left me feeling very disappointed and misled. I paid for a Gold level service expecting protection, but instead, it feels like the warranty company looks for reasons to reject claims rather than support customers. It is extremely upsetting to pay for coverage and then not receive the help promised when you actually need it.

I hope Phantom carefully reviews the warranty companies they nominate, as this directly affects customer trust and satisfaction

What can I say bought a Toyota Land…

What can I say bought a Toyota Land Cruiser end of October 2025. Was told car would be ready to collect that weekend. Made a phone call before I set off to find out car was not ready even though I was assured car would be ready. 2 weeks later the car was finally ready.
Upon delivery the car seemed very bad for power and gear changes were awful (automatic). Phoned phantom the pushed me off to A1 for warranty. No garage would touch there warranty work. Spent over a month phoning garages going to garage’s trying everyone A1 told me to ring. Then tried telling phantom. Got no were.
Then went through finance company it took the finance company over a month to get phantom to acknowledge the problem. Now phantom has my vehicle have had it for 3 weeks. Leaving me with no vehicle again. Out of the 3 months owning the vehicle they have had it in there garage over 5 weeks.

Now I guess phantom will reply with we’re sorry to hear this how can we solve the problem.
You can solve the problem by giving me a full refund as I have asked for for over 2 month.

A truly excellent experience

I have had an excellent experience with Phantom Motor Company, and especially with Jon Phillips.

As I was purchasing a 911 remotely, Jon was incredibly helpful throughout the process. He arranged a pre-purchase inspection, organised the installation of a tracker, and even sourced winter tyres from Germany at short notice. The delivery of the vehicle was also very well coordinated and seamless. Although this was probably not the simplest sale for Jon, he remained consistently professional and fully committed to ensuring I had a first-class customer experience.

Unfortunately, after only a week of ownership, I experienced an issue with the car while driving in Europe. This is where Jon and Phantom Motor Company truly stood out. Jon has remained fully engaged in supporting me with the warranty provider and was quick to reassure me when the issue arose. He reaffirmed their commitment to honouring the assurances given before purchase and to resolving the matter properly.

It’s easy for things to go smoothly when everything works perfectly — but the real measure of a company is how they respond when something goes wrong. In my case, Phantom Motor Company and Jon have demonstrated genuine professionalism, integrity, and customer care.

I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Very poor company to deal with

Very poor company to deal with. Claim customer service is there main focus but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. I would not buy another car from this company.

Dealt with Jon in sales who told me 10 times he was a tech at Porsche for so many years and how much of a car legend he is and knows an everything to know about cars. However, he advised the car had been serviced, which was a lie, they claim that ‘anything the car needs the car gets’, which is also a lie. The car I bought needed a full service and brake pads. Called and asked for proof of the service which had been carried out. Service department advised it wasn’t serviced but Jon advised it had. Upon inspecting the oil and filter they had not been changed recently.

Emailed Jon back and advised service team said it hadn’t been serviced and I need proof for the warranty I took out. Was sent a one like email saying email after sales. (Someone with any tiny bit of customer service knowledge would copy the after sales into the email trail) but not Jon.

Emails ignored, phone calls go no where.

Had cheap Merch thrown at me, cap, mugs key rings bottle of cheap Processco and an umbrella. Which to be fair is a nice touch not that any of it is any use to me but still a nice touch.

However, the sale of the car has been misleading as I was told the car needed nothing, which is not the case. I would not recommend to buy a car from this company.

Buyer Beware.

Oh dear. Sadly our experience with Phantom Motors didn’t start or end well. When we arrived, we were ushered into a vacant office for an hour. The car we were viewing had to be brought for somewhere else. We waited, and waited. It finally arrived shortly before their closing time.

We agreed to buy a Range Rover Sport. I gave details of our car and a valuation (subject to inspection) was given. We returned home with an agreement that the Range Rover would receive an MOT and service.

In the interim, we received a “rundown” of charges from Alistair. On his sheet he had the mileage of my trade in car, 10000 lower than it actually was. I emailed him and pointed out his error. Added to that, an admin charge of £299 mysteriously appeared on the invoice. I called Phantom and said I wasn’t paying it because nothing had been agreed. “The admin charge was dropped”. Beware buyers!!!

In the meantime I removed my private plate from my car with DVLA (£80). Bought a new insurance for the new car (£631) and travelled to Phantom to conclude the deal. Our car was taken away for an inspection and returned with (cosmetic faults according to Brad). The issue of the mileage reared its head and even though Brad admitted it was their fault, we were asked to pay another £1100. I refused but did concede, human error does happen and in this case, reluctantly, I agreed to pay another extra £500. This was rejected and the deal was over.

Hugely disappointing result at a real cost to us. £160 to DVLA and £155 fee for cancellation of insurance and none of this our fault.

The exact mileage was given and incorrectly recorded. My Mercedes was handed over in good faith (no smoke and mirrors) for Phantom Motors inspection and returned with “ cosmetic issues”.

All a bit tacky and unprofessional in my opinion.

I would warn potential buyers “buyer beware”.Beware of hidden charges (£299, not chicken feed) Not only ensure your car and documentation is in order but, when you give details to your Phantom Motors salesperson, make sure they record that information correctly otherwise, you will find your experience with Phantom Motors a pretty tasteless one…we did, sadly.

Just to add. I notice a couple of companies send their deepest apologies and promise to call and see if a resolution can be found. In reality, they don’t ring and the review looks like it’s being dealt with. This is another case where any resolution is like Phantom Motors, a bit of a sham.

I would not recommend

I bought a car from Phantom Motors in October 2025 and have only covered around 3,000 miles since. I genuinely did not expect to be dealing with this level of issues less than a 6 months after purchase.

Not long after buying the car, the engine management light came on. It went into the garage and was diagnosed with 2 sensor faults. I had taken out the Extended Gold Warranty specifically for peace of mind. However, the warranty company (A1 Approved) would only authorise the one of the sensors and refused to cover both, leaving me to deal with the remaining cost myself.

Now the car is leaking oil onto my driveway. I’m currently waiting for the formal quote, but I’ve already been advised repairs are likely to be at least £3,000. I’ve also been told by A1 Approved this repair is unlikely to be covered under the warranty either. I've been bent over and shafted from a great height, making that warranty not worth the paper it is written on.

So, I am once again left without a car while this is being investigated. I paid extra for an extended warranty to avoid exactly this situation, yet I’m now facing significant repair costs and ongoing inconvenience less than a 6 months.

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and based on what I’ve dealt with so far, I would not recommend.

If I could rate 0 I would

If I could rate 0 I would. I don’t even know where to start…

So when I came to view the van over 2 weeks ago (24/1/26) I took the van for a test drive. There was discussions with Gary about sorting a few things;

- NS suspension knocking (sorted)
- Bullseye in the windscreen (not sorted)
- fresh mot (not sorted)
- USB port not working (sorted)
- issues with bodywork on sliding door (not sorted but compensated £350+ vat)

I wasn’t aware that the MOT hadn’t been done until I got to Wigan after travelling 5 hours from Kent. I was told that PMC would cover any costs of the MOT and put in £50 of diesel for compensating.

New issues. When driving back, I noticed the headunit was very temperamental and kept flickering off and on. The sound keeps dipping in and out too on BT mode but not on DAB.

However, the other issues which a van costing over 22k I have found are:-

- The OS rear door doesn’t lock back into position and you have to really slam it for it to shut properly.

- Paint has flaked from callipers around the van, and there is orange/blue overspray all over the suspension parts.

- misting inside both headlights

- front OS dropping which was fitted by PMC has been fitted incorrectly by them

- the rear loading bay lights only work when the ignition is live and not when doors open or on a switch when the ignition is off making it hard to load and unload without leaving the keys in the ignition

I’ve had the van 4 days, travelled from Wigan back to Kent, Kent to Ipswich. All this has happened and been noted.

The overall build quality is appalling in my opinion, the after sales since putting my deposit down has been horrendous. I feel if I was spending 140k on the nice grey 458 they have in the showroom, I’d be treated a lot differently.

I have since had no correspondence in how I can resolve this issue. The van is 120 miles away from my home address and nobody is giving me any indication what to do next. If you can get through to their after care team, they are just as useless. I have tools and luggage which I don’t know how I’m going to get home with as I feel the van is not safe to drive. Also in the predicament that PMC will probably say I’ve done “more damage” if I was to drive it.

I went to A1 warranty to get an individual inspection booked in with a quote for the works, and that was over £9,300. This inspection shows how bad this vehicle is. No wonder they didn’t do an MOT on it! This is the vehicle I use solely for work and I have lost earnings this week and possibly next along with financial losses trying to sort getting myself back to Kent and to and from work to keep the roof over my families head.

So to sum it up, I’m going to be taking my legal advice and perusing a court case against PMC for all of the above unless they refund every penny I put into this van as well as all the time and money I’ve wasted trying to sort this.

I have put some photos up on Google reviews, but I am going to get more tomorrow and keep posting on the internet until PMC give me back what I want.

If you are considering buying from PMC, maybe hold back.
