Philips just killed our TV

Philips just killed our TV, in the proces doing an auto software Update, the TV just stopped working. They then two times send a reboot file , none of it works. They admit they did a wrong Update, but they just dont want to fixe it. So our TV is dead, and thereby they force me to buy a new one which will never be a Philips again.

Sounds fine to us

An Air fryer that cost a fortune, rattling like a chainsaw - that’s all normal we won’t cover that, was the reply.
Terrible service.

Terrible products (toothbrush) and even worse…

Terrible product and even worse customer service.

Purchased a Sonicare toothbrush about a year ago and the battery started exhibiting issues. The other day, I found myself waking up several times in the middle of the night because the toothbrush would just turn on randomly! There was nothing I could do to stop it so I had to go outside and throw it out in the trash in the middle of the night to stop it from waking the whole apartment up with it's super loud vibrations.

This frustrating experience made me try and contact Philips about this issue only to find out that their website for contacting them about these matters is completely broken.

This led me to believe that not only the company makes terrible products, but they actively know this and can't deal with the amount of complaints so they disable (or not fix) their contact forms on their official website.

I can not stress enough about how terrible my experience was in using what's suppose to be such a simple, everyday tool (toothbrush) and turning it into some terrible quality product waking me up at night and not able to reach out to the company's customer service about it. Forget about taking pictures/Serial number down...I had no choice but to throw it away on the spot.

They get 1 star for my satisfaction with the Philips toothbrush products so far.

Another giant company that got money…

Another giant company that got money and now is providing lousy products with incompetent support.

Bought a vacuum cleaner 3 years ago. Battery starts to die out. It can't get fixed. Customer support not even addressing the issue, looooong response time. Gave up, waste of money. Don't buy from this giant corporation that didn't invest even 1 % of their money to devote a good customer support experience

Racism!! Worst customer service!!!

They don’t even deserve that 1 star…
My tv broke down after 1.5 years, i had to fight Philips for 2 months to get it fixed because they kept saying there’s no problem. Finally they agreed to change the tv with a new one… The day the tv had to be delivered their technician came without the tv…. They are arrogant, never reading the emails, snapping at you for no reason and trying to make it out like you are just another crazy customer that has a problem with their perfect products. Oh and if you are a foreigner woman with a funny accent they consider you stupid and they treat you with the most disgusting racism possible
So yeah please stop buying Philips products!!!!!!!!!

philips speedpro max 8000 series not recommend.

Bought our philips speedpro max XC8045/01 and from the beginning it had so many issues.
First of all this vacuum cleaner is very high maintenance. Even when we clean the filter and the maintain after every use the suction power even in turbo mode has gotten worse and worse.
We have cleaned the brush in the vacuum head after every use. Like it is so much work and still the functionality of it is poor.
Furthermore - the lid kept coming off until it fell once and of course broke. I have had so many vacuum cleaner less expensive but so much more resilient. My family and friends bought the dyson handheld and are all so happy with their purchase. We definetly regret buying ours.
Furthemore now every time we turn the engine on - it makes a horrible smell as if its going to burn out or explode. Like how is this even possible when you have only had it for such short period of time.
WOULD never recommend anyone to buy this vacuum cleaner it is such a waste of money.

Worst coffee machine ever

Worst coffee machine ever, really - Philips EP2224/40:
- the engine inside works in such a way that it makes coffee go all around it. It gets stuck everywhere and it's extremely difficult to clean later, even with weekly maintenance. If there's warm and humid weather really easy to get mold inside
- The steamer stopped working properly (really low pressure, more boiling than steaming milk) after several weeks, I had to send it for a long repair. They said they fixed it and sent it back. Now after 2-3 months it stopped working again. They don't want to refund but tell me to send again for repair. I'm quite sure the issue will be back and just afraid it will be after the warranty.
- uses a tone of coffee but makes really average and not very strong espresso
- it's so loud you can't believe
- takes a lot of space
I really hope they take it back and refund instead of sending it back again as it's really a nightmare using it. I dream of days back with a simple mocca pot.

I made the mistake of buying a coffee…

I made the mistake of buying a coffee machine, 3200 series. It has a mind of its own. Some mornings it gives us coffee, others not. So we take it for servicing under warranty, we get it back with the comment that nothing wrong was found. We get it back and we decide to make the cleaning and maintenance intervals shorter thinking it may be our fault. Nothing changed. Now, it's back with the servicing for almost a month and when inquiring about the status of it we are bounced back and forth between philips Germany (where the machine has been sent for servicing) and philips Danmark, with hints that we may be bothering them a bit too much. Do they expect us to fix this problem ourselves too?!
Never buying philips again. It was time for a new TV and couple of other small appliances, but this brand is off the shortlist. Also, we're not sure we want the coffee machine from them anymore, we're looking at a DeLonghi for a replacement.
As a side note, I don't see any replies to any of the complaints made here. I guess it may be indicative of what philips thinks of their end-customers. Thank you

Fantastic Philips 55 inch OLED TV 935/12 with 4-sided Ambilight and Bowers & Wilkins speaker sound bar

I recently installed my Philips 55 inch OLED TV 935/12 in our home, which I found via Philips Denmark - and what a great experience it has been since! Already the unpacking experience with a well thought through packaging was perfect. Not only could I unpack the TV safely without it tipping over while removing the parts from the box, I could also lift, tilt and assemble the foot easily alone, despite its impressive size.

Installing it was very easy, thanks to the intuitive walk through the setup menu where every step gets suggested to you in your favorite language. I still prefer the English language setting, despite registering and installing it in Denmark.

I was curious to see the 4-sided Ambilight in full motion and experience the Bowers & Wilkins Sound bar. What a feast! The elegant lighting of the Ambilight makes the whole movie experience even more immersive – as if the screen size is not enough, you experience the picture beyond the bezel of the screen! The B&W sound is amazing and it comes in a nice silver-grey finish with a wraparound fabric, and a tweeter integrated into the top of the sound bar.

I wanted to get the best picture quality (HDR 10 / 10+, HLG, Dolby Vision), movie experience (Ambilight, B&W Sound bar and Dolby Atmos) and all the streaming services in one set – and this TV has it all! Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Google Play Movies, YouTube plus a large amount of Apps which you can make your favorites so it’s easy to navigate between them with only 1 click, thanks to its Android TV9 platform. Netflix has even received its own button on the remote control. I like it, because it is sleek, has a soft leather like coat on the back (no scratches on my glass table) and is backlit (easy to navigate in the dark when watching movies). Only I found that you have to really touch the curser buttons precisely enough, not to accidently press the home button or nearby other functions.

As this is the first new TV since almost 8 years for me, I was impressed by the slimness of the set and yet the richness of features (Online services, streaming, built-in Google Assistant voice search, support for amazons Alexa devices at home) and its multiple connections (4xHDMI 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB, Ethernet, etc.). I found out that there is also a so-called “Auto Low Latency Mode”(ALLM), a feature that activates the TV’s Game Mode when compatible consoles (e.g. Xbox) are connected to it.

What I really love is the picture quality and the 4-sided Ambilight. It adjusts the color and brightness of the LED strips on the back of the TV to match what is happening in the picture on the screen. I had a Philips (3-sided) Ambilight TV before but this one is the ultimate as the 4-sided feature and the different adjustable lighting settings make it extremely comfortable to watch – especially during long movie nights during Corona lock-down. And beyond the lighting effect, the picture quality is just brilliant with such a high resolution that sometimes I need to tune it down in brightness or contrast – so sharp are the images you see on the screen.
Overall this is a 5 out of 5 star for me as this Philips TV has everything I wanted and leaves no wishes unfulfilled. They really did a great job bringing a superb TV to the market.

I have purchased their latest 4K TV…

I have purchased their latest 4K TV model on Black Friday for 20.000 DKK from Elgiganten Field’s.

It worked fine for two days and it started to have small software issues such as Android TV being unresponsive to commands or my HUE lights not syncing with Ambilight.

Opened a ticket on the Philips support platform and I was kept telling to restart the TV by plug and unplug from the power socket. I did so many times that my TV burned and completely died.

My case was transferred to their repair company letmerepair.dk and was told they will come to investigate the problem. It has been two weeks since I got my last reply from them. And it seems I am going to spend my holidays without a TV.

When I try to contact Philips they say that the issue is not their anymore and have to contact letmerepair.dk. When I contact them they say they are waiting parts delivered from Philips.

Nobody can give me a status of when I will be able to watch TV ever. And Egiganten doesn't want to get involved for a replacement aslong they say I already contacted Philips.

Philips makes cool products but if they broke down you will end in their repair limbo. Their customer service is slow and unhelpful.

TV repair abysmal

I unfortunately felt compelled to share my experience in order to warn other potential Philips customers. If only there could be a 'zero' star review.

I bought a small Philips TV from Elgiganten in Copenhagen last year, and it worked fine until April 2018. Then, the power unit for the TV stopped working, so I called Philips to find out what was the matter (it was still under warranty).

I took 2 MONTHS of trying to get them to come and get the TV (I offered to drive it to them but no, someone needs to pick it up in person), which apparently is quite complicated for them. Finally in June, someone came by to pick up my TV. That's been it. They still have it. 4 months after they've had it, a total of 6 months since the TV stopped working, this is where we stand.

I've had many calls and emails from Philips (Benjamin there has been quite nice), but their problem lies in the system they use for repairs. They use a company called Infocare, which from what I can tell is the worst. They don't ever answer their phone or respond to emails - not once have I been able to reach Infocare which supposedly has my TV. Infocare neither gives 'info', nor do they 'care'.

I don't imagine Philips seems to care much about this, but if they do, perhaps consider using a different company than "infocare"? Come on, it shouldn't take 6 months to get a power source problem fixed on a small TV.

At the very least, Philips should give a replacement TV (they wouldn't), or my money back (they wouldn't). Instead, I'm stuck in this perpetual limbo with Infocare who may or may not have my TV.

Philips, come on, figure this out. It shouldn't be this complicated. I've been patient for months - sort out this problem immediately.

Just on the off chance that someone at Philips or Infocare sees this, it's about Philips Customer Service file #7866916

Even though I had a right on my warranty, it was difficult to get

My TV started showing a vertical line from top to bottom on the left side of my tv, after 1,5 years of use.

As I bought it in Holland but live in Denmark now, I of course contacted Philips Denmark. They claimed, however, that I did not have a right of warranty. "Products bought in a foreign country have only 1 year warranty" is what they said.

I looked up the European law and found that, no matter where you buy a product, as long as it is within a EU country, you have the right of 2 years warranty.

I called Philips Denmark, but they didn't move. I called Philips Holland, where they told me that I indeed still had warranty. I called Philips Denmark, let them hear the recording I made of the employee saying I had the right on warranty, but still they wouldn't budge.

I called Philips Holland again, where my case came higher up in the system. After 4 days I got an email from a high employee in Philips Holland, who claimed he talked to Denmark and they should call me soon to set up a repair.

After 4 weeks of calling back and forth, I finally got confirmation that I was gonna get a repair.

Half way through June, my tv (with new panel!) started showing a blue spot. I called Philips to tell them that I had an error again, said I bought it in Holland on the 9th of July, on which the woman answered "oh that doesn't matter, you have 2 years warranty within Europe". So my complaining in February actually helped, as everyone gets 2 years now, not only Danish customers.

Because the first time was so terribly difficult, but the 2nd time very easy, Philips gets 4 stars from me. It just took some time to get the repair, but eventually it came.
