Disappointing Experience and Unusable…

Disappointing Experience and Unusable Work

We hired Pickle Design to create physical packaging for our products, but the entire experience was deeply disappointing.

Despite multiple attempts to mediate and offer solutions, nothing was resolved. The designer, Emma, repeatedly failed to follow instructions, requiring us to re-explain and re-issue the same tasks several times. It became clear she didn’t understand how to design an actual physical box, so we arranged in-person meetings and tried collaborating through Adobe Creative Cloud — but she admitted she’d never used that system before.

The work we received was completely unusable. One design file was only 600 pixels wide, pixelated, and not Retina-optimised, which is basic industry standard. Later, Emma told us she’d never designed packaging before, that printers normally handled that part, that she’d been ill that week, and that she takes a full day off every week — none of which was mentioned when we started the project.

In the end, we were left with no usable packaging, graphics that didn’t follow our brand guidelines, and email designs that were unreadable on mobile despite Pickle Design’s own website claiming to deliver “responsive design.”

For us, this was a costly and frustrating experience. We wouldn’t recommend Pickle Design for packaging or responsive email work based on the service we received.
