Some great music and a great nostalgic trip down memory lane. However, far too many ads and a couple of really ropey DJs. Average.

Ok at best.

Some great music and a great nostalgic trip down memory lane. However, far too many ads and a couple of really ropey DJs. Average.

Really not worth the effort

Long long ago ,no adverts,or so few you didnt notice them. Now, constant pushing this competition for money, purile advert after purile advert…annoying me me me female discjockys that talk more than play records. Spend most of my time now listening to playlists on Alexa . Yeah I listen to Planet Rocks Cat obsessed Victor Meldrew ,and Darryn who like me likes Rush. More pop than rock, spose like most things its about max money for min layout. Shame it used to be good . Alexa…play Blue Oyster Cult….ahhhh…..

Seems to have gone!

Switched on the DAB in the car today and Planet rock had gone!
I had been listening since the channel went on air, it had been a sort of constant companion. Over the last few years however, the level of advertising of 'Rockstock' and 'Winters End' had become extremely intrusive. I did re-scan my radio, but couldn't find the channel.
Anybody know what happened?

Competitions have ruined it.

Used to love listening to this radio station. Every radio I owned was tuned in.

Now they just continuously plug their stupid money making competitions.

Enough is enough.

Spotify it is.

Gambling Adverts

I love the music usually but it's very disappointing to have gambling/slot machine adverts played every 5 minutes, in fact it's highly irresponsible and shows how little this station cares about it's audience beyond their wallet and attention.

not worth listening any more

they've changed the schedules now so I can't hear my preferred programs any more (long player & blues power). only listened for 4-5 hours at weekends so not worth subscribing and the constant adverts and competition plugs have become tedious! shan't be listening anymore

I love listening to Darren Redick

I love listening to Darren Redick. He always has something interesting to say, always a story to share, and interesting to listen to. Wyatt is great, as is Joe Elliott and Elles Bailey. All have something extra to share and have put some planning prior into the show (although with Darren I think a lot is just natural).

Murray J isn’t interesting at all. Sorry Murray. In fact, my girlfriend insists I change to another station if she’s with me! Murray just reads out other people’s request messages. He also fills as much time before and after telling you the song and artist (yes, we know its Led Zeppelin! You don’t need to tell us twice lol. None was enough). He refers to his show as the "shoe" as do the listeners, no doubt due to a mispronunciation from the past, which are still occasional today. Not sure how much he knows about Rock music. He once announced the correct artist (Twisted Sister) but wrong song (before and after the song lol).

This channel has a slogan which chants …

This channel has a slogan which chants " while other stations keep talking we keep on rockin"
This needs altering to " while others keep talking we keep playing the same 50 records
" if God was a d.j. he'd draw on a library of over 6000 records "

Danny Bowes

Danny Bowes, on Sunday morning is probably the worst DJ (I'm being generous calling him a DJ) I have had the misfortune of hearing.
It's very apparent that he is reading everything he says as he says it, but what is completely disgraceful is the disrespect he shows to legends of rock, most of whom he couldn't compete with.
For example, calling a legend like Bruce Springsteen, loose windscreen is disgraceful, disrespectful and completely uncalled for. I just wish Danny Bowes had an ounce of Bruce's talent.
There are several others who receive the same disrespect from him.

Grow up man 😡

“ Planet advert”

“ Planet advert, with the occasional rock song thrown in”
That’s what it should be called, everytime i ask Alexa to turn it on, it’s either some money making scam, or some advert.
Wyatt if i was you, I’d go and work for a proper rock station, shame, something else that’s changed beyond recognition

Planet rock used to be good

Planet rock used to be good, not so much anymore.
"Where Rock Lives" is now more like "Where Ads Live", I think in the last hour they played half a dozen songs, the rest was ads and inane rambling, no thanks I'm off, there are a lot of Rock channels on the Internet with NO ads, just MUSIC !!

I have listened to Planet rock for many…

I have listened to Planet rock for many years. I have always enjoyed the station. But I have to say the station is not what it was. Not as many proper rock tracks as there used to be. And there seems to be alot of repetition. Also alot of advertising. But let's face it that's the case with alot of the other channels.
But it's still worth tuning in for a listen 👍

What an absolute scam that cash…

What an absolute scam that cash register thing is! A guy won it today and he only entered it today! What about all the other people that have been entering for weeks! They should go into a separate draw if it's a rollover! Spent well over £50 on this and I'm fuming a guy enters once and wins!

TOTAL DISREGARD FOR US PEASANTS ON LOW INCOMES

This station used to be back to back rock music from all genre's. Loved getting up to this station every morning blasting out heavy metal first thing, listening to it whilst riding & driving, but now they've switched over to Dab+(???) those days are long gone. I cannot get their channel on FM nor normal DAB anymore ffs?? Now it's sole purpose is advertising & trying their hardest to prize our money from us - every other song is an overly long advert..seems they got greedy & have lost many of their longstanding fans, myself inc.
Money is tight for most of us nowadays..but they didn't even take that into consideration with this strange move over to Dab+ I'm not about to nip out & buy this new version of DAB just to hear them! So it's ADIOS AMIGOS from this "once loyal fan" I'll miss Alice Coopers show big time!
Your Trustpilot reviews speak for themselves!!!

Save us from Duff and Susan Holmes McKagan drawl

I love Planet Rock and have listened for years , I also love G n R but I really can not stand to listen to the drawl of Duff McKagan and Susan Holmes McKagan; does anyone listen to what they say and even leave the radio on?
Please save us from this! So many people do so much better.

An uneasy compromise

At times can be brilliant, but whether it's worth upgrading to premium I'm not so sure.
I'm really averse to restricted playlists and if you listen over a period of time you'll realise just how repetitive it really is, not to the extent of say the abysmal Heart radio etc but it is pretty apparent.
I guess it's a cost thing but I do get sick to death of the same obvious tracks by the usual suspects.
I never want to hear Hey Joe or Paranoid ever again,or for that matter any Bon Jovi song.
There are so many brilliant tracks you'll never hear from big bands or lesser known artists,I guess another reason for that is to accommodate the casual listener who thinks Deep Purple only recorded one song, yes, that one.
But you think of Satriani or Steve Vai,all those albums but you'll rarely hear the former and never the latter.
You'll get plenty of Queen though,ugh....
Basically if you're serious about rock or prog then this station is a compromise, and around 22 minutes of every hour is ads or traffic news.
But hey it's a commercial station so they have to attract the most people, so yeah I get it.

Bitterly disappointed

After complaining (see below), breakfast show presenter Paul Anthony phoned me. OVER AND ABOVE THE CALL OF DUTY!!! Unfortunately, the possible work-around that he suggested didn't work.
I'm in awe that their key man would do that for a listener... but the management really needs taking to task over this.

I have listened to Planet Rock for more than 20 years, right from the early days.
I have loved it. I've recommended it. I've probably listened every single day for two decades; I hate being without music around me.
I even bought a Planet Rock-branded DAB radio.
However, I am absolutely appalled that Planet Rock's now decided that Planet Rock will not be available on the Planet Rock-branded radio set that I own because of moving to something called DAB+.
We can't all afford to just throw our radio away because they've decided we should; there's a "cost of living" crisis which affects so many of us, y'know!
Planet Rock's lost a long-standing loyal listener and has left me feeling bitterly betrayed and let down.
