Pretty sure they are goners

Waited for a replacement for over a year and nothing ever came. Not only do I not get a refund I pretty much never really got it working. Bought 2 Petrek GPS trackers and realised why they are so much more used in Australia and New Zealand, they actually do warranty and repair work locally and have been around for 9 years !

Avoid this company

Avoid this company - Bought a replacement POD in Dec 2018 from Argos to replace my older one that was falling apart as I liked the functionality.

The it has never worked and I've been promised a replacement for months.

Meantime I was taping together my old one. The old one stopped working in June and on the 22nd I received an update below indicating that the current UK pods are now irretrievably broken due to account issues and they have no stock (they have not had stock for over a year).

My personal view is that this appears to be a company that has been living off the subscriptions, not ordering new stock to widen the customer base and has mismanaged the existing subscriptions to the extent that it seems to me to be an existential threat to their business. I'm off to buy a tractive or other competitor product - my patience has run out.

The email text I received
"As you’re aware, we have been working for almost 2 weeks on an account issue with Vodafone that has prevented the Pods from connecting to the network. After many long conversations with Vodafone, and despite our best efforts, unfortunately we’re not able to recover these devices.
Our SIM contract with Vodafone Australia was coming to an end due to some account issues and we were working on a plan to migrate the SIMs on that contract (which includes your device) over to a new contract which was being set up with Vodafone UK. Unfortunately there were a number of delays in making this happen in time and despite our attempts to extend the coverage, the SIMs were terminated under the old contract. We have since been working closely with Vodafone to re-activate the SIMs and move them to the UK plan, but it seems there are some unforeseen technical challenges in making this happen and now that the SIMs are terminated, they’re not able to perform the migration for us.
This is obviously a terrible outcome and we have to accept responsibility for the situation. It’s clearly not what anyone wanted and we’re deeply sorry that this has effected your ability to keep track of your pets. As the SIMs are permanently soldered into the devices, we’re not able to get you up and running with your current Pod and we’ll need to work out a plan to replace your device. This will not be a quick solution as we don’t currently have available stock to do this, so there will be a wait of at least a few months to make this happen. We understand this is not good and we’ll be doing what we can to avoid delays in getting you a replacement device, but we just want to be up-front with you that it won’t happen straight away.
We’ll be in touch shortly with all customers who's Pods have been effected, about the process for claiming a replacement device and sorting out your subscription. We are truly sorry for the situation and we appreciate your support and understanding during this difficult time. We’ll be working hard to get you a replacement device soon, so please stay tuned for more information."

Absolutely the worst!

Absolutely the worst!! Waited for nearly a year for the warranty replacement for a faulty unit. I finally cancelled to get my shipping payment back. I bought 2 Tractive trackers about 4 months ago. THAT is a great product with great support. If you are looking for a GPS pet tracker, try Tractive. Don’t waste your time on Podtrackers!

Absolutely fuming. Avoid at all costs!

I have had the pod3 for 18months. Absolutely fuming. Granted the pod has actually saved one of my cats life twice which I am forever grateful for BUT.... I have also had nothing but problems with it. I had 2 pods go missing and couldn’t be tracked, we searched high and low but nowhere to be found. I then bought a 3rd which was faulty and recalled. Still haven’t received the new one, that’s 4 pods I payed full price for as when we contacted them asking for a discount the first time they totally ignored us, the 2nd time they were out of stock and no idea when they would be back, expensive and because of this one of my cats went a mile up the road and got killed by a car. No this wasn’t the fault of Pod but had his pod been on him and working he never would have got that far away! The batteries on my remaining pod are only lasting a few hours even when it’s not in tracking mode and now it hasn’t been working for almost 2 weeks as they are apparently having account issues, which it took them 5 days to email me about, so again I am having to let my other cat out without a working pod. I will be cancelling my subscription and going elsewhere and will be telling everyone else I know to avoid them!!!

I wish I could give less than one star

I wish I could give less than one star. They changed mobile provider in the uk and recalled all pods as the sim can’t be replaced. Sounds fine, except 8 months later they still haven’t sent my new one! Absolute disaster of a company, avoid at all costs.

MASSIVE OUTAGE - POD 3 IS USELESS

NO GPS SIGNAL FROM POD FOR 1 WEEK
MASSIVE OUTAGE EFFECTING MANY DEVICES
My Pod 3 annual subscription of $72 auto-renewed last week, without any prior notification.
Since then there has been no GPS signal.
I’ve had an email saying there is an issue with PODs on the Vodafone VF account.
I suspect VF have now started selling PODS direct and are not supporting devices purchased from other suppliers.
It would be nice if POD Trackers could be upfront about this before auto-renewing my subscription. THE POD IS NOW USELESS!

Vodafone were useless when the kippy was lost so I have no doubt they will be of no help with the pod tracker

Waste of time and money

I bought two of these pods after one of my beloved dogs was lost for 6 days. After finding her I vowed to do everything I could to keep them safe and my anxiety levels low. Pod very kindly gave a discount code which I shared with the 1467 people involved in looking for my dog. Many pods were sold.
In less than a year, the pods have malfunctioned twice. The first time was 3 weeks and the latest has been 6 weeks. Customer service is ridiculous, you can’t call them and can either use a web chat which has NEVER been answered or email which is responded to between 3-10 days later.
This latest malfunction has provided a variety of excuses and explanations and despite having 4 emails requesting a refund, these have all been ignored and a cock and bull story added.
Avoid if you want to know your pets are safe. I have numerous emails to back up my claims and will be taking court action to get a refund

Stop paying and your device is dead…

Stop paying and your device is dead forever. Paid for a POD 2 and had no comms about renewal and that I needed to extend. My device now doesn't work and they won't replace. Discrace of a company.

Pod Trackers Pod3

I purchased the Pod3 late last year for my cat as a replacement for the Pod2, hoping it would be better, but it's still hopeless. In common with all trackers which attach to a pets collar, the GPS is largely obscured by the cats head, so the GPS position fixes are very unreliable or don't work at all. Battery life is also poor. When set to update its position every 5 mins, the battery lasts about 4 hours before it is at a dangerously low level (<15%), so I have to change the battery once or twice each day. Since January this year, a bug has existed in the software which causes the display to zoom right in by an absurd amount each time it gets a fix, so all you see is a blurry mess. The switch to turn this off is broken, and so far they have refused to fix it (after 7 months!) Support is woefully bad - it can take weeks to get a response, if any.

In less than two months of ownership, both of the supplied batteries have failed. And they are so arrogant, they can't even be bothered to respond, let alone replace the batteries. The Pod really is a completely useless pile of junk from a cowboy company with appalling customer service. DO NOT BUY.
