Pontins sand bay

Pontins sand bay
Went Monday to Friday half board.
Had classic road. Room was basic but generally clean, new carpet. Bathroom had new mastic
Window bit dirty though. Had few cobwebs.
Resort had some nice gardens and nice pitch and putt. The crazy golf was ok but bit run down.
Games room was nice. Had 2 good snooker tables and 2 table tennis tables. A big connect 4.
All were free to use.
Swimming pool closed though and been for a few years now.
Restaurant was good. Food excellent . Plenty to eat and cakes delicious.
Entertainment was good.
Can be pot luck who you see but usually a few good acts during week. The bluecoats did very good show.
The park is for adults only and most are retired. So anyone under 50 feels very young .
Great location right by sunny bay across the road and less than 5 miles to Weston super mare.
Brilliant value for money especially in summer.
If you want 4 or 5 star accommodation don't come here. If you want value for money and happy with basic rooms and bingo/ dancing nightly entertainment near seaside you can't go to much wrong. Also have many themed weekends for £99 per person half board. Incredible value.

Accommodation a mix of prison camp and hovel needed 3 bottle of bleach and a shed load of antibac wipes but once we'd cleaned it it was liveable for 2 nights.
Whole place needed updating

Disgusting Customer Service

I booked, paid and got confirmation of a 4 night break to Pakefield.
Three weeks before we're due to go I get a call to say they're cancelling my holiday because they've taken a group booking who require the whole site.
Disgusting way to treat customers.
Basically telling me my holiday is less important than somebody else's who booked after me.
I now have no holiday but have already booked the time off from work with no option to go elsewhere with my son.
Plus I've got to wait up to 10 days for my refund.
Will never book another holiday with Pontins - absolutely disgusted.

Would be a -100 if I could AVOID

Would be a -100 if I could
We travelled in a large group and were visiting to play in the SCI tournament nearby. We have had several football tours over the last 5 years all have been excellent so as you can imagine we were all very excited for the weekend.
I’m so proud to say our group of boys won the U12s tournament which was amazing but the weekend was dampened sadly by our stay at your site.
We have a number of complains over the weekend listed below;
A) on arrival to the site the check in process was not organised, it took a while to find the booking and collect the key. We were not told about facilities or where to find our accommodation. So we did spend a while driving round trying to find it.
B) on arrival to the room I was shocked. I have never seen a room I’ve paid for be in such a disgusting state. We upgraded to club too! The room was shabby, outdated, dirty, had not been cleaned, we had no bedding, windows were dirty covered in birds poo, the room was covered in ants. It was horrendous. I immediately went back to reception to ask for a cleaner as I was not going to stay in that.
C) when the cleaners arrived they I have to say didn’t really have a clue on how to clean. The young girl who hoovered the accommodation was out of breath, they washed the floor with what looked like dirty water, they didn’t use any cleaning products I actually went and sprayed the sides and windows. The young girl then asked if I was a cleaner? To which I replied no I wasn’t I was a paying guest at the site!
D) in terms of the ants the cleaners didn’t have anything to kill them so I went to accommodation services to ask for ant spray. I was not allowed to take it and was told they couldn’t send anyone round until Saturday afternoon. I then went to the shop and spent £8 buying my own to deal with the situation given I was having to sleep in that! Not what I was expecting.
E) during the weekend a lot of the restaurants were closed and did not offer a wide choice of food to eat
F) On Saturday evening one of our party brought a light up toy from the kiosk in the main club room. Literally within 5minutes of getting it he accidentally dropped it, the parent took it back to change it and was charged for another. Given what we spent as a group again was taken back. I did challenge this as all night children from are party was buying teddies and merchandise. The blue coat Alice was very rude and basically said it was policy. I asked to speak to a manager as seemed very unempathetic, to which she said she was the manager. I asked why as a manager she had no discretion, she could very clearly see we were not taking advantage and had spent a lot that evening with you but literally laughed at me. I was so angry, and again taken back by the way your representatives dealt with the situation. It was not about the £10 but the principle of the matter. I spoke to head of security to try to escalate this and was told quite a few people complain about Alice. Not information you should sharing with guests. Security also told me they were short due to most staff being at a wedding of an employee? Again not information I needed to hear.
G) on Saturday we also visited the soft play, we had to all give our home address to which again we questioned, the guy working didn’t really know and said it was incase we had an accident? Please can you confirm why you needed this information for?
H) generally understaffed in most areas of the park all weekend.
I) life guards not interested in the people in the pool more on there phones
J) not enough pillows in the rooms for the amount of people booked in. for example our family of 5 only had 4 pillows in there room..
K) they had to close the spa shop early as was told by a member of staff managers forgot to tell them there was a tournament this weekend so weren't prepared
L) we asked in the pub on Saturday afternoon if we could all come and watch the playoff final on sky, was told by the manager there it was not a problem we all arrived brought a drink asked them to put it on to which the manager replied no sorry I made a mistake.

So I have contacted to cancel my holiday unfortunalty to be told that pontins holidays are non refundable and can not be cancelled either. So what happens if something happens in my life and I can’t attend the holiday. What a ridiculous policy but well done pontins for getting money out of people for nothing. If this is the case why aren’t the standards higher on your holiday destinations because they still look like they are in the 50’s

Avoid, go anywhere else, literally anywhere.

Booked a 4 night stay through Sun Holidays, wasn't expecting too much but as a bare minimum I would have expected accommodation fit to live in. Left 2 days earlier than planned after discovering a plate of mouldy food left in the microwave. This was after originally being given an apartment which the key didn't work properly, dead flies around the bath, standing water on the floor and dust everywhere. Replacement apartment at least had dry floors and no dead flies but still lots of dust everywhere, the temperature knob didn't work on the cooker so it burnt everything and then the microwave debacle. There was also mould on the pillows and the sofa that turned into a bed was very uncomfortable. Bluecoat entertainment was actually very good and a brief respite for a couple of hours. Came home more stressed that when I went. 12 year old daughter distraught at such a rubbish holiday. Company aren't interested in responding to complaints, ignore ignore ignore seems to be the policy. It's like they know how rubbish they are but will keep grabbing money until they run out of unsatisfied customers. The park I went to was Camber Sands.

Sand bay pontins

Booked in Feb for the soul and motown week. Paid an extra £20 a day for club room and a couple of extras. Got there was told to fill a form out ( so what was the point in printing out the the confirmation email with holiday reference on it ) and put car reg on it. Given key to chalet (staff polite) walked in chalet was clean but coffee cups not clean and small window dirty and awkward to open. Heating had been put on (nice touch) but room to hot and the bottle of wine left (part of the extras) was now warm with nowhere to chill it.
The restaurant ( hard to call it that more like school dinning hall) food was ok and plenty of it.
Used up all the little milk cartons and sugar sachets in the room after 1 and 1/2 days. Went to see them at reception and was told I could buy more coffee, tea ,whitner and sugar as I was told what they left should last a week! The lady on reception did give me more milk for free but paid for the other bits. Even though I should have had coffee and tea changed daily as per their website states when you book a club room but was told they don't do that anymore and did I book on booking.com as its wrong. When I told them I booked it through their website she said she'd tell the manager after asking if i was sure ? Where she should have told me to hang on and gothe manager.
Now for the amenities
Swimming pool was closed due to it needing structural work heard someone say it had been closed for years !
The games room well 2 snooker tables 2 table tennis tables and a couple of empty vending machines and that was it.
Didn't even see the sauna and steam room. Didn't see anyone using the crazy golf or outside gym or bowling green ( weather to bad to use the really)
Brought a pint of lager at the bar and it was served with no head on it so no flavour so switched to cider which was ok. Again staff were polite and friendly. Shutters were down in the Queen Vic bar so thought it was closed but it wasn't just has to get a drink from the ball room bar until the room had filled up a bit then they raised the shutters on the bar .
Went into the arcade (over 18s only) and it was all fruit machine's so walked straight out.
Would I recommend going here for a break if you're under retirement age NO as not a lot to do onsite.
Was it worth the extra £80 for a club chalet and extras NO.
Would I ever go to pontins again DEFINITELY NO

Pontins in Prestatyn

Pontins in Prestatyn
From 13th Feb till

Absolute nightmare, it was that bad our group left early

First of all, we have travelled in an ambulance due to transporting children with special needs and disabled adults.

Club apartment 2 bedroom chalet had a lady bird infestation, cleaners couldn't get rid of them so we had to move (bearing in mind we had already transported all our luggage to this chalet, the 2nd family on this booking also had to move, due to disabilities we needed to be together.

The 2nd chalet 109, once we had settled in and unpacked everything, the electricity went off and maintainence could not fix it, so we had to move again at 5 in the evening.

After moving over to 115. We noticed how unclean the whole chalet was, including the bathroom,  one occupant in this chalet is a child with Ocd and refused to use the bathroom as it's dirty, with mould, red stuff around the taps, blood splatters up the wall, there is also lots of marks on the floors in the bedroom resembling dried-in sick or bird poop.

As someone with Ocd, this causes significant distress continually, as well as all the upheaval of moving twice.

In apartment 111.

Please see attached pictures of this terrible apartment, this is resemblance of apartment 115.

In apartment 504, trying to top up electric was complete shambles, the online system didn't work, the app didn't work, reception told me to go to the gate, the gates system wasn't working and only took ten pound notes, so then we went back to reception and they advised we could pay cash there. It was alot of too-ing and flowing.

There is no swimming open, there is no advertisement on website as stated by reception that the swimming is closed due to 'maintainence'

There is no evening laser quest, no evening roller blading. We are thinking of going home early,

Please may I add the significant distress and effort it has taken to calm the children down and even some adults, whom this has taken its toll on, we come away for a nice break and this has been ruined from the moment we arrived and throughout the holiday, still.

Just returned from Mon to Fri 70s…

Just returned from Mon to Fri 70s special. Never ever again. Dirty cups in chalet cupboards. Filthy windows you couldn't see through. Heating kept cutting off so cold chalet. Had my parents with us so we paid for extra quilts to make sure everyone was warm enough. "Restaurant" was cold ended up eating in our coats. Food diabolical watery soup that looked like it was carried over from day before, chicken with ham and cheese sauce was watery, One days apple crumble only knew what it was because it was written on the menu. Cabaret lounge varied from hot to very cold but the rooms you had to go through to get there were freezing. Gave feedback to staff who weren't bothered.

Sand Bay retirement home with rodents!

My wife and I stayed at the Sand Bay holiday Park in Kewstoke.
The room was OK, old style carpet and a springy double bed. Freezing cold with no heating being switched on. We had found a mouse in our room over night. Complained to the manager after no clean plates or food being replenished for dinner and Breakfast and a severe shortage of staff. All entertainment was aimed at the over 60's and inclusive to that age range. Rooms need a good clean, with dust and hairs covering the carpets. Staff do not seem to care about complaints. Very poor and disappointing. Even staff stood in guest areas slating other staff. very unprofessional.

Some improvements needed.

Great weekend, apart from the mattress was hard so couldn't sleep very well , dining room was cold, games room was cold. 3 dining stations, but closed one and two too soon, that then caused big queues .
Rooms very warm.
