RIVERSIDE RETAIL PARK NOTTINGHAM

Rude staff with management that’s even ruder, constant queues at the tills only ever seems to be one till operator. Stock constantly stacked on shelves in the wrong place which then leads to arguments at the tills about prices. Best one is when you try to buy a can of monster advertised for £1 on the shelf and it’s £1.35 at the tills and they won’t honour the label on the shelf they then remove the label off the shelf and refuse to sell it you

Pounland London Road Brighton

Pounland London Road Brighton. After scanning my basket of kitchen goods I scanned the last item which was a packet of laxatives. The supervisor woman who seemed to be in charge there demanded my ID before she could allow me to by them. I thought she was joking as its plain to see that I am an elderly man. In fact I'm 65 years old and look even older. But no she wasn't joking and preached company policy to me. She said I would need to show her my driving licence or passport. I had neither with me so could not by the product. In the end I left with nothing.
My message is to the management area managers and head office. Is it any wonder your company is struggling with staff that seem to have no common sense. I hope Poundland goes bust. With stupid staff like that its only a matter of time.

Very bad experience in Poundland, Wembley Central

I've just been to Poundland in Wembley Central, a shop I visit regularly. I happened to be wearing a jacket that I bought in the shop last Saturday. I had a quick look at some of the clothes but didn't go near the jackets. As I was going towards the tills to pay for some shower gel, one of the assistants called me & accused me of stealing the jacket. I explained that I'd bought it from there the previous Saturday but she just kept looking at me in a nasty, disbelieving way. She then said "I don't want to embarrass you by checking the CCTV", I said "Go ahead". She clearly didn't think twice about embarrassing people by falsely accusing them of something. I then said "I won't be coming in here again", left the shower gel on a shelf & left. I appreciate that staff need to be vigilant & watch out for shoplifters but accusing shoppers with no evidence is not the way to go about it. The assistant didn't even attempt an apology; in fact, she was rude throughout. Will be writing to the head office.

Extremely disappointing, rude, unhelpful staff

I went to Poundland at 12-14 High St, Ramsgate CT11 9AE almost every day in the last couple of mornings around 8am and also on some afternoons every day and my experience was extremely disappointing, All of their the staff are very rude, unhelpful, unprofessional, slow, dumb, outright insulting. They do not let the customers to use the self-checkouts, or even shut the machines down, then one single cashier takes ages to serve a customer. It was actually many times that I was not able to buy anything as it was not possible to pay. I was even insulted by a member of staff numerous times, when I tried to use the self-checkout. Actually, I have never experienced this kind of unprofessional, rude behaviour in any Poundland before.

Very rude assistant in Bexleyheath…

Very rude assistant in Bexleyheath store. Had obviously got out of bed the wrong side. I felt intimidated by his aggressive manner and all over a carrier bag. Most unhelpful. An upsetting experience for an older member of society. I shan’t be returning.

Bought a 7 day pill box from Poundland

Bought a 7 day pill box from Poundland, which had 4 compartments (morning, noon, evening and bedtime) per day for tablets. I only needed morning and bedtime compartments, but this item was the only one they had in stock.
Each day’s compartment can be removed from the pack, however it became obvious while filling and using the compartments that they cannot be held securely in place with the result being that the things fell out in use and were just rattling about insecurely in the pack.

Shop not able to give a refund because they had 'done the tills'

Tried to secure a refund at 17.00 on Monday and ' the boss' had cashed up so the tills couldn't even do a card refund
Not the floor staff's fault but Poundland if you are open you need to be completely able to function and service ALL customer needs. Now got to return, pay for parking and fuel again. Not at all happy.

Clear Racial Profiling Ignored by Poundland Management

Location: Unit 35, 36 Broad St, Mall, Reading RG1 7QE

I was racially profiled in this Poundland and the experience left me disgusted. I was followed around the store watched as if I was stealing and then confronted and checked for theft even though I had done nothing wrong. When they realised I had not stolen a thing there was no apology no explanation and no respect.

According to their own CCTV footage I was simply browsing the washing bay area with my trolley in front of me when a colleague approached. I placed an item back on the shelf and walked away. The colleague spoke into their headset and followed me calling out. I stopped near the chillers removed something from my ears and cooperated by showing my handbag and shopping bag before leaving. The footage itself shows calm normal behaviour and full cooperation. Nothing about it was suspicious yet they still targeted me.

The reason was obvious racial bias. I have seen white customers steal in front of staff and nothing happens but when a brown person shops normally it suddenly becomes suspicious.

When I raised this complaint Sharon from customer service dismissed my experience and hid behind the “we have a diverse team” excuse. She refused to confirm any real action or acknowledge the bias involved. No one said they would speak to the staff or take steps to prevent this from happening again.

Their investigation was performative and their final response was to shut the complaint down. Poundland chose to protect their image instead of confronting racism. If you are a person of colour please be aware of how you may be treated here. I will not be returning until they show genuine accountability.

Disgusted at poundland

Visited poundland in Hastings today, usually there is one checkout that is manned for those who cant and will not use self service tills but today apparently no one was available. I had no choice but to leave my shopping and go elsewhere. I am disgusted that there was no choice and will not shop there again. Poundland did not train me as a till operator so why expect me to do this job? For free!
Update. Poundland did respond with assurance this will not happen again and one checkout will be open or opened upon request. I have visted the store in Hastings twice since and found the checkout open and serving customers, so thank you and please stay on our high streets
