We joined the shark conservation project in Fiji. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the staff running the project and they went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to make the most of our time. The Shark dives were incredible as well as the fish survey dives, maintaining the coral nursery and planting mangroves. We learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Maik for looking after us so well . We would come back in an instant.

The experience was incredible even the way it was organized. Although I must say that it seemed a little unfair that those not volunteering in medicine did not receive any itinerary for visits and so. We others had to find another way, which is fine, but when you see that other volunteers get this privilege it is frustrating.

Fantastic project with great location support.
Everything about this trip went smoothly. The staff were friendly, application was simple, instructions were clear and the on site support for the project was excellent.

Mix of volounteering, cultural experience and sightseeing/leasure time.
The company is helpful and organizing transport, accommodation at local family and work. Whilst the price is high, I got an unforgettable experience from it, meeting people from around the world and being able to getting to know Nepali culture, food and way of life.

I volunteered in a children's daycare centre out in Cusco for a month and it's been one of the best experiences I've ever had! All the projects abroad staff were lovely and readily available to help and the local staff at the daycare centre made me feel welcome straight away. My project allowed me to enjoy my time volunteering but meant I also had free time to explore the area which was great. The projects abroad staff help you get to know other volunteers as well by organising social events like cooking, dancing etc so it's a great way to meet other people. Would definitely recommend!!

I was a volunteer English teacher in Cuzco, Peru, for four weeks (May 2025) and it will remain a wonderful memory. It was well organised, I was welcomed in Cuzco by a very friendly and efficient team who took great care of me ( especially when I had a slight health problem), I really enjoyed assisting the English teachers in a local boys'school and my host lady was extremely kind and welcoming. Nothing negative whatsoever. It has been a very enriching and unforgettable experience.

Projects Abroad takes care of their volunteers. A well organised 3-months project that is more than just volunteering. Is freedom of exploring and take of part to fun activities.

The project itself was not very well organized, but the local people I lived and worked with were such nice people and made my experience memorable.

Everyone was so nice and really helpful. I do think that I could have been prepped a bit more before the project but overall it was a great experience.

Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful opportunity! I was deeply moved by the warmth and compassion of the Fijian people. Every day brought new experiences and countless opportunity for learning. Above all, spending time with the pure-hearted and energetic Fijian children became an irreplaceable memory for me. My homestay was also a very comfortable place, thanks to the generous support of my host family. Although my stay was only one month, it was an incredibly fulfilling experience, and Fiji has become such a wonderful country that I genuinely hope to return to someday!

Thanks to the Projects Abroad staff, I was able to enjoy my volunteer work and life in Kenya. The staff gave us dance lessons, beading lessons, took us to a coffee farm, and tried to make us volunteers happy.

This program allows you to freely pursue what you want to do, as long as you communicate to the local staff what you wish to experience and learn.

To sum it up Project Abroad = Transformative travel and experience!
Eye-opening aspect of my journey provided valuable insights into different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life, broadening my understanding of the world. Such experiences are enriching and contribute significantly to personal growth, as they often push you out of your comfort zone and encourage you to adapt and learn.
Besides the above, i hv also returned with a new circle of friends during the project.

Hi, This year was my second stint with Projects Abroad. In 2018, I went to the amazing Taricaya reserve in Peru and joined a conservation project with my 2 boys aged 12 and 14 at the time. It was an incredible experience, that we still talk about it today. This year, I wanted to connect with the environment and the people who make a difference each and every day in the Galapagos. I chose Projects Abroad because of the amazing experience I had in 2018. Everyone in the team was super responsive as soon as I reached out, instantly connecting me with the project I was interested in and answering all my questions. They also made me feel safe as I was travelling alone this time and assisting with a family host in Quito, and the reception commitee in San Cristobal At the reserve, the staff was AMAZING! From William Puga who is the main contact, to Jose and Flora who cook our meals every day and Dot who is leading teaching assignments, everyone is completely devoted to the cause and the volunteers. I cannot say enough what a life - changing experience, my assignment was. Not only did I get the opportunity to teach French (for the first time) to the amazing local children, but I was also able to participate in conservation activities, such as feeding the tortoises, controlling invasive species and counting sea lions. The bonds we created among volunteers was also incredible and I was blessed to be surrounded by a community of amazing people ! I highly recommend joining in to support this incredible community and protect this unique natural environment #ProjectsAbroad
