The WORST proctor company! Taking a proctored exam / certification is never an enjoyable experience, but these guys are a joke. The amount of checks they ask for is insane..four corners of your room,... See more

Prometric Testing Center
Prometric Testing Center - 180 Bloor Street, Toronto, 8th Floor
Date of Experience: November 6, 2024
Exam Type: PEBC Pharmacy MCQ Exam
Highlights of a Terrible Experience
Location Setup: The testing center is located on the 8th floor of 180 Bloor Street, but the waiting area feels more like a congested, suffocating alley. No seating or comfortable space for exam-takers who are forced to stand and wait in a cramped corridor.
Locked Washrooms: Washrooms here are locked with a code, adding an extra barrier for stressed exam-takers. Basic facilities like this should be easily accessible, especially given the long waiting times.
Unprofessional, Rude Staff: The staff here lack any hint of customer service skills. They come across as rude and uninterested in helping, making the experience even more stressful.
Terrible Time Management: Exams are running drastically behind schedule. A 12:30 pm exam didn't start until after 1:20 pm, with no clear communication or updates. People scheduled for later times had no idea when they’d get in.
Total Disregard for Exam-Takers: The entire experience feels disrespectful, as though the test-takers’ time and comfort are not considered at all.
Poor excuse for a for-profit service
Couldn’t imagine a worse experience with a proctoring service. Comical tech support. Zero accountability. But I guess have 14 year olds in a third world country running a sh*t business out of a call center is preferable than paying the money it would cost to operate a reliable and credible business.
Worst exam experience of my life
Created this account just so I can write this review. I did a remote test and it was the worst exam experience of my life... After 20 minutes of showing EVERYTHING in my office and person, they said the test was going to be lauched and the program frooze. I just stood there, for a long long time, chat did not work, I waved, I called, I tried to exit the exam, NOTHING WORKED. Tried to enter again and the code did not work anymore... Went to their chat online and I was told they could not do anything and that I would need to talk to the external company that scheduled the exam to change my credencials or provide another code... Even though it was their fault their program is beta quality... Not an apology, not an email explaining what the hell happened, NOTHING! They could, I dunno, keep your phone number and if something like this happens, call you or show any sign of respect and empathy with your situation.
Can't put a 0
Unfortunately the website doesn t let me give a 0. Absolute scam of a company. To think some well known certifications use them as test centres providers is beyond me. They barely have any test centres, they keep the number of test centres to a minimum, probably to cut costs.
I thought PEARSON was bad but this is a whole new level. Boycott anything that uses Prometric as a test provider, please.
Website glitches and payment won't accept
The other reviews here speak for themselves but nonetheless, I tried booking an in-center exam November 2022. The website did not work as it would glitch at the point I tried to pay. The solution, phone up and get Prometric to book their end. Fast forward to August 2023, I try to book another in-center exam with Prometric. Same issue, website glitches when I try to make payment. The following month, September 2024, same issue - website glitches when I try to make payment. It doesn't work on Google Chrome, it doesn't work on Edge, it doesn't work on my personal laptop, my work laptop, my mobile phone, I've tried different payment methods, all fail...never have I experienced this with any other company.
This company is terrible at what they have set out to do and I hope, eventually, they managed to get their website and payment acceptance fixed.
TEST IN PERSON!
TEST IN PERSON! I tried to test online with Prometric. I was treated like a criminal and booted from the exam for no reason. They told me they would give me a warning (I used the restroom for 4 minutes during a designated break), but then simply booted me completely out of the exam. Then I had to pay to take the exam again which I did in person which was a much better experience! I should have been given a refund for being booted, but they are a scam. They also like to hide their business contact information. This is a big red flag. TEST IN PERSON!
Prometric Values do not match the actual experience
Prometric was 3rd party proctor for an exam. When I got the notice on the 4th to sign up for an exam, the only option they gave me was to take the test on the 10th, which was a day before the training would be complete (11th). I had to select the date to get out of the screen. I called the company where I was taking the online training to explain, they told me to try again another day. So I did. I went back in a couple days later and Prometric said that they were unable to reschedule or cancel the test, that I needed to do that on the 4th (the day I signed up for the course). I called the customer service number and spoke with a man who interrupted me several times, when I tried to explain there was a glitch in their system. He told me "there isn't a glitch". I attempted to finish my explanation and he repeated the same phrase. I tried calling their corporate office, and that is where the transfer of call and on hold game took place. Lesson learned...do the training in person and take the test in person. No call back regarding my situation, but they got my money!
Prometric is horrible
I instantly lose respect for any organization that works with Prometric because Prometric is a pathetically awful company. Truly one of the worst websites I’ve ever seen. Why anyone relies on this company to coordinate testing is beyond me. The website is antiquated and glitches all the time. And to top it off they have horrible customer service and actively hide their customer service phone number from their website so they don’t have to answer calls.
There are no words to express how much I hate this "company"
If I could give this company zero stars I would. I've had to reschedule my test 3 times dumping $150 down the drain. When my test (that they let me schedule outside of office hours apparently) lost connection and kicked me out they sent me a number to call to get it fixed but upon calling the customer service line they told me they were outside office hours and couldn't take my call. I unfortunately had to forfeit my test and the fee I had to pay to get the test scheduled. I ended up calling them the next morning to talk to someone about what happened and they ended up transferring me to 5 different numbers and hung up on me three times. It took me way too much time to actually talk to a human being instead of their stupid automated response machine which did everything in its power to get you to hang up by repeating it's long intro at least 3 times before giving you an options menu. This company is overall extremely disorganized and unprofessional and it's a shame that big insurance companies require you to go through this pathetic excuse of a company to obtain your licenses. This company obviously does not care about the actual human beings that are taking these tests and only cares about the money they are basically stealing from them. I would never recommended this company in a million years.
Terrible both online & in-person experiences
On Monday, 7/15/24 I was scheduled for a remotely proctored exam but then, due to no fault of my own, there were technical difficulties with Prometric's app and it would not secure my device even though my computer had passed all of their systems checks. I spent hours troubleshooting it and was told to reschedule my exam to in-person. I then scheduled an in-person test on Friday, 7/26/24 at 9am. I was told to arrive at 8:30am. The closest test center on that date was over an hour away in Worcester, MA. When I arrived at 8:30am the door was locked and there were about 30 of us locked out. We waited a few hours but nobody showed up or answered the phones so around 10:15am people started leaving. The building maintenance person there said that all 3 staff members called out sick and then the back up person also couldn’t make it but nobody called or emailed to let us test takers know. After 1 failed online attempt, and 1 failed in-person attempt, they only extended my testing eligibility by 1 business day. When I tried to then schedule my exam for the 3rd time, on Monday, 7/29/24, the Prometric website said that there is no availability for either remote or in-person on that date and because this all happened over a weekend nobody is answering phone calls or emails. This is absurd!
I had an exam
I had an exam, did there system checks, all ok, logged on with plenty of time. Faced with blank a screen, as vearly thought might be just waiting till a Proctor was ready. Nope, waited and then exam time has passed. There is absolutely no help on the website, or on the call unless its office hours. A terrrible experience. Do not recommend they as a company at all.
I would give them 0 if an option
I would give them 0 if an option. Terrible customer service, terrible website. You can spend hours going in circles on the website and then get 7 phone numbers that no one answers and when you finally do get a person they can't help you either but of course it's always your fault. Beyond terrible. It's the only testing option here right now and I have sent quite a few staff to test over the years and somehow the experience gets WORSE every time. I don't even know how that is possible, but it's beyond terrible.
worst test experience ever
This is the worst test experience I have ever had. It is disgusting that the state of Florida has contracted with this company. The proctor, who wore glasses, complained that he could not see my license. Well could it be that his vision is so poor that he can not see? I was threatened by the proctor that he was going to fail me because I was asking to many questions. I am so frustrated in the idea that the State of Florida thinks so little of the citizens that they contracted with this firm.
really bad technically speaking
really bad technically speaking. took me over an hour to connect on a very important exam. i thought ProctorU was bad but this is beyond terrible.
Prometric cancelled my exam the day…
Prometric cancelled my exam the day before with no explanation why. They said to wait until I get an email to contact them. 5 days go by, and the email basically says "sorry" with no explanation. I call customer service after hunting for their number, and the technician is extremely rude and unhelpful. They were not able to reschedule my exam.
This place is a SCAM!!
This place is a SCAM!!! Unprofessinal, RUDE, they make money by fail you anyway they can. I pass my written exam but on my clinical the lady told me that my shoes was not in accordance with what i should wear for my clinicals, i was in shock. one hour away from home and you cant get out to get a new pair. So i callto see if i can take the test another time, but they told me i have to reapply again and start over. What a sick SOB. Forget it, only can scam me once. Dont waste your time and money. Zero stars from me!!!
Worst proctored Exam
I tried to take a test and talked to four different people. The way they treated me made me feel like a criminal. I understand they have to follow some rules. However, I took online tests with other companies that were more civilized. The kids working for them are rude and uneducated. This is the worst company to take a test with. If I could, I would give the company less than one star. I would give them a 0.
Ultimately, because of technical problems, I didn't take the test.
The team here is very rude and have no…
The team here is very rude and have no respect for people trying to better them selves. By far the worst company I have ever proctored with. I will be missing the deadline for my exam due to their technical issues. The staff is rude, and has an attitude. Even when I finally was connected with a proctor after 2 1/2 hours, she was rude and asked me to log out of my exam to fix my camera and when I tried to log back in my Confirmation code is not working- simply because I hit "ctrl alt delete". Now it is "my fault" that I cannot get into my test and they said they need to investigate it. Now I am missing my deadline and will have to reapply and make another payment and this is putting a HUGE delay in my career.
Prometric would not fix their own error
Prometric scheduled me for the wrong city for the exam. I asked for Los Angeles and they gave me area in Sacramento. Not being familiar with Los Angeles, I thought it was some county in LA area. When I found out I called them back. They said I need to call in 24 hours. I called in 24 hours, they said I need to call in 48 hours. I called in 48 hours, the person that picked up was rude and told me it was my fault and they could not reschedule. I asked for the manager and the manager said they need to "investigate" and I will find out in 5 business days. It's been 6 business days - nothing. I called the number given to me as the number for the manager, I was told it was wrong number. It's been TWO WEEKS - no resolution and I am losing timeline for the exam now. Absolutely unprofessional, ineffective and kind of evil actually.
If I could give less stars I would
If I could give less stars I would. Both the application that they use to test remotely and their test centers are awful. Testing companies need to find a new proctor company, major interruptions during my remote test so I opted to take a retest at a test center which they canceled on a Friday two days before the test. I now have no way of contacting them because its the weekend, there are no other appointments and this is the last opportunity to take this test. I don’t see how any legitimate testing organization can have respect or trust for prometric. Really an awful corporation.
