Overpriced, unhelpful and rude to customers, and do not deliver as promised

Deloitte Propel cold reached out to us to pitch their service and initially agreed to help us setup group reporting and accounting. I went into their offices in central London to work with their team on explaining what we needed. None of this eventually materialised, and we ended up hiring other consultants to work this out.

Over time, the Deloitte Propel management team got less and less responsive and started to add extra charges. At one point, we were paying nearly £600 a month for annual year accounts sign off and payroll for *one* person. One the payroll part, the Deloitte Propel team became ruder and ruder and less helpful in terms of payroll questions and support.

At three points, we also asked Deloitte Propel for quotes for further work involving getting a complex HMRC approval. They quoted x4 times higher than what another London-based firm quoted, who eventually completed the work.

For £600 per month you can not just get a more supportive accounting partner, but actual recons done rather than just annual accounts sign off, and payroll for up to 10 people. Deloitte Propel seems like it primarily exists to make a good initial pitch to tech startups and then drawn them into extremely overpriced services.

Bad initial experience. Not recommended.

I've engaged with Propel to learn about their services and get a quote and had quite a bad experience.

1) Misleading price tags: I've enquired about their "Compliance" package and they advertise quite reasonable prices on their website but have been quoted almost four times on the phone. I'd prefer that they were honest and clear about it on their website.

2) Software: They advertise that they give you the software options between: xero, quickbooks or sage. However when I told them I want to go with freeagent, they tried really hard to change my mind towards quickbooks. I felt a bit misleaded that they would advertise a software when they are not fully comfortable providing it.

3) Rude conduct: I've been told that I'll be receiving an email with further details and never got that. I found that quite unprofessional and rude.

Overall it was a wast of my time. I personally wouldn't expect any good from a company that performs so bad even in the initial stage of engagement.

Strongly suggested to go somewhere else.
