Protea Hotel by Marriott Midrand a hidden gem
I stayed at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Midrand, in South Africa from the 9th December 2023 to 20th December 2023. This was my 5th year staying there always in-and-out.
Protea Hotel by Marriott Midrand is my hotel of choice when I visit South Africa from the UK. It is a hidden gem tucked away nicely in Midrand.
The service is second to none, from reception - Patience, Lilian, Ladymile & the gentleman with specs gave me a warm African reception and the check-in was seamless. In the bar Bheki and team were always at hand to serve and provide ice buckets, always with a smile. In the restaurant Victor/Thapelo and the team delivered top notch service. Hats off to the house-keeping team, the place is spotlessly clean. My room was always spotlessly clean.
The thing that touched me the most was that one day I returned to find a bottle of "Chocolate Block" a very good red wine in my room courtesy of guest relations. I had previously mentioned in earlier communications with the hotel that this was my favourite wine and because they did not stock it onsite, they decided to buy it for me. In my books this is what I call "customer service with a difference" - definitely Titanium service.
I definitely, recommend Protea Hotel by Marriott Midrand, in South Africa. It is safe, tranquil and more than value for money.
