Protex Pest Control was employed by my landlord's agent Chestertons to treat a moth infestation in the house I am renting. We found them incredibly unreliable. It was supposed to be 3 treatments, a fortnight apart. The first one went fine, the staff was on time, polite and clearly competent. The second treatment was by a different staff member who turned up 45 min late (and didn't contact me about it - I had to call the office, who called them). They left the door to the kitchen open while treating, which wasn't great as there was exposed food and a fish tank with potentially chemical-sensitive fish. We pointed all of this out to the office and they were apologetic, but then for the final treatment, they didn't even show up at 8am when they were supposed to. When we finally managed to contact the office at 9am, they said that the staff had gone to a different job and couldn't come that day at all. Incredibly annoying given how disruptive the preparation work is (you have to put away all your clothing, vacuum all the carpets, cover up furniture you don't want stained etc).
