I'd put a note on my account to further outline my cardiac history and some recent unpleasant medication reactions I'd had and was pleasantly surprised to be contacted the next day by a nurse who wanted to make sure I wasn't in danger and had proper support.
I'm early days through the process at this point, my referral only went through at the end of July from my Doctors and I've only recently done all my forms so will have some ways to go yet. With my cardio history and other mental health I'm unsure what the outcome will be for me but I'm grateful to the support and think they're doing as best as can be managed with the amount of patients they have to treat.

Efficient, Effective and Excellent Support from Psychiatry-UK
I’ve had a very efficient and effective experience with Psychiatry-UK. Everything was explained thoroughly and clearly, which made the process much easier to understand and navigate. I also really appreciate being able to continue communication and ask questions through the patient portal, which is very convenient.
Although the waiting time for medication can be lengthy, I think it’s important to highlight that their waiting time is based from the date of diagnosis, rather than from the date medication is prescribed, which is a great approach.
Overall, I’m very grateful for the support and service I’ve received. It’s a fantastic free service, and I would highly recommend Psychiatry-UK to anyone going through a similar process.

The consultant I saw was very understanding and put me at ease . She was extremely skilful at drawing pertinent information from me within the appointment slot to aid the assessment .
On reflection , I realise a less experienced and skilful professional may not have done this.

Very good experience
Very good experience. I felt the assessment and forms where straightforward. The doctor I spoke was friendly and also highlighted an aspect that I missed, which I'm now researching. Currently not on medication but was informed why, which I'm okay with.

Amazing doctor
The turn around from referral to diagnosis was so quick, after thinking it may take 18 months it was less than 5 weeks!
Plus the Doctor actually had time for me and I felt listened to and understood!

Just received my autism diagnosis
Just received my autism diagnosis. I cannot speak highly enough of Vinod Kumar. I was very anxious but he put me at ease that I did not want to consultation to end. Apart from receiving my diagnosis he made me feel good in myself and gave me lots of helpful information. Thank you

Demoralising experience
My experience with Psychiatry UK has been incredibly frustrating and demoralising.
Despite reaching the top of the titration waiting list, it still took over a month for an available prescriber.
When I did receive a prescriber (Gemma), I was asked to re-submit my forms as my previous ones were out of date. I did this straight away.
Over a week later and no response, so I sent a message asking when I'd be able to start titration.
I received a reply from Gemma, saying she would be in touch after a meeting the following day.
I responded asking if everything was ok regarding my BP and heart rate (which are in normal range for a woman of my age); and whether I'm suitable for titration (I can't see why not - but then I have generalised anxiety and worry about everything).
Gemma responded by saying that she's waiting on the ADHD team lead to get back to her regarding my "query" (whatever that supposedly was). That she's going on annual leave tomorrow; and that if she doesn't hear back she'll put my titration on hold so I'm not "disadvantaged".
After I expressed my unhappiness at how my case was being handled, Gemma then said my case would be discussed at a meeting on the 25th August - making me wait even longer, and causing even more doubt, anxiety and uncertainty (not ideal when I also have diagnosed autism).
I then put a note on the portal asking if I'd still be prescribed the non-stimulant.
I received a response the following day from someone in Gemma's absence, reiterating that they couldn't give me an answer, and that I'd have to wait until the meeting on the 25th had concluded.
I haven't been told what exactly it is that needs to be discussed. I would like to know.
My mental health is suffering. This isn't the only issue I've had with Psychiatry UK. Without giving an overly detailed timeline, I was previously on a stimulant medication. I had issues with it - was honest about it; and then told I've have to have 3 months of abstinence before I could be re-referred to start a non-stimulant medication (and would be put to the top of the waiting list as soon as they received my referral).
Well, it's now been over 6 months. I've done everything Psychiatry UK has asked of me, but I'm getting worn down by all these unnecessary hurdles. This isn't the first time Psychiatry have messed me around and moved the goal posts.
I even had a reassessment with a psychiatrist with a speciality in addiction. He gave the green light for Atomoxetine. However, now I'm fearful that despite all this time and everything I've done to prove myself, Psychiatry UK will ultimately find a reason not to medically treat me.

Dr Raj was exceptional
Dr Raj was exceptionally patient, pleasant and easy to speak to. He listened carefully and made me feel genuinely heard throughout the assessment. He was able to understand and relate to what I was trying to explain, even when I struggled to find the right words or articulate my experiences clearly. His calm, respectful approach put me at ease and made the process feel supportive and validating.
