Fantastic gym with really friendly, helpful staff and great equipment. Always clean and never experienced any issues. Really good value for money as well, would recommend to anyone.

We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about the facilities within your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can and they'll be happy to investigate this further. Thanks, PureGym

Definitely recommend
The new gym is absolutely lovely and the womens section really helps build my confidence in the gym. I have been a few times in the new gym. However today i left my airpods, went back later on and they had been handed in. The staff are lovely and its such a positive environment.

Gym is great, that's me being positive.
Gym is great, hope it continues to be as good when it moves.
The music - absolutely awful, generic garbage and loud with it. But I'm old, so probably not the target demographic,
I need to learn not to go during daylight hours.

We're sorry to hear you have some concerns with regards to the volume of the music in the gym.
In the gym, we must adhere to Health & Safety guidelines as specified by HSE, as to the appropriate volume at which we play our music and our members are taken into consideration at all times when choosing the appropriate volume.
Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this for you.

I was tempted to give the gym a one…
I was tempted to give the gym a one star. However this would be unfair for the rest of the the team.
I have recently rejoined Pure Gym after a long absence, due to one particular ongoing issue.
There is one personal trainer (who will remain unnamed) who makes me feel very , very uncomfortable. I am a very mindful gym member, however, there is one personal trainer who every time I look up is giving me death Stares. (Yes everytime!)
This has been the case over the years and has also been the case over this last week.
He would also mumble something under his breath every time he walks pass. Furthermore I have spoken a couple of my friends who have also stated that they have left the gym for this very issue. (They also happen to be from the same ethnic background as me)
I even said 'Hello' one morning , the PT looked at me point blank and did not respond , but continued to stare at me quite aggressively.
I would like the management to share this message with all personal trainers, and if the issue is not resolved I will take this up directly with the management in the coming weeks.
Other than that, the gym is clean. People are friendly and mindful of each other.
I hope the issue can be resolved without any further action. Any sort of intimidation whether direct or indirect should not be tolerated.

Good gym but lacks decent air circulation
The gym is great overall, but it really lacks proper air conditioning or decent air circulation, especially when it gets hot. It can feel stuffy and uncomfortable during warmer days. Even just a few industrial fans would make all the difference.

We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored.
All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes.

Used to be good for the money but standards are dropping
I’ve been coming here for a few years, more for ease/locality but since joining the standards have massively dropped to the point that I’m looking for other gyms.
A fair few machines out of order, lots of broken lockers, toilets are clean 50% of the time and today… a very hot and busy Sunday and there is no handwash in the toilets, but a note saying ... to use disabled toilet for soap if “necessary’. Really poor hygiene standards being promoted in a gym of all places, which can make a lot of people ill and is just grim to be fair. Needs sorting ASAP. 🤢

We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible.
We're sorry to hear that you have concerns surrounding the cleanliness of your gym. We work hard to ensure that our gyms are a safe and comfortable environment for all of our members, and always take member feedback on board.

It's alright
Good quality equipment and availability of machines but sports water continues to be out of order and drink vending machine was also out of order. Would rate higher if hydration options were more reliable

Best decision
I joined pure gym after a health scare and it’s the best decision I have ever made. It’s such a great atmosphere, the staff are incredible. I do have a personal trainer Lizy who is a life saver nothing is ever too much and she tailors everything to my body and my mind. Every member of staff I have spoken too is so nice and helpful.

We always advise that new members have an induction to ensure they are familiar with the lay out of the gym and understand how to access the gym and use the different pieces of equipment.
Inductions are usually placed on the class time table. You can also get in touch with the Gym Manager via email, and an induction can be arranged for a specific date and time.
Alternatively, members are able to speak to the staff in the gym (if they are not on the gym floor, please feel free to knock on the staff room door) and have an induction. Thanks, PureGym.
