Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 361 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people expressed significant dissatisfaction with the service and customer service, often finding it impossible to speak with a real person and experiencing extremely long wait times for results and appointments. Reviewers frequently reported issues with staff competency, including multiple attempts for blood draws and incorrect information being entered into their systems, leading to frustration and delays. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with individual staff members, describing them as compassionate, professional, and skilled at blood draws. These positive interactions often highlighted specific employees who made the process easier and more comfortable for them, even when other aspects of the service were problematic.

Quest location at 3620 Sheridan Drive…

Quest location at 3620 Sheridan Drive Ste 100, Amherst, NY 14226.

This lab is commonly slammed with patients. Even with an appt, wait times might exceed an hour. Forget about walking in without an appointment at the wrong time.

In winter, the office is dingy and cold, the floors are dirty from salt and grit. No wasting corporate $$ on removable carpet service.

The parking lot is very small and shared with a busy medical practice and furniture store. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

There is no easily accessible patient bathroom so prepare for that ahead of time - no frills here.

Make SURE your MD has submitted your blood work order before you go to the lab.

That's not a Quest deficiency but it will make your visit MUCH worse if your order has been overlooked by our own MD.

My empathy for the phlebotomy staff is deep. They are clearly understaffed, underpaid, overworked and stressed out but marching on - please be understanding and nice with them.

An ironic video of the archetypical 60ish bald, sardonically cheery Quest CEO who made $15 million in 2024 plays in the waiting room on the TV with the appointment times and patient status.

No way around it, the Quest experience at this location is not good and I get to go back again in less than a week.

My FP’s office didn't enter my blood work order in the Quest system despite the fact his group is directly affiliated with Quest after his group sacked their own group of 22 lab techs and lab services employees on 01/01/26.

If only the Quest CEO and his hedge fund cronies focused on patient satisfaction rather than earnings per share for just one month per year things might be different.

If they did care, perhaps an appointment at Quest might feel more like an interaction with a well run medical establishment and less like a visit to a plantation.

But shareholders definitely out rank employees and certainly patients at Quest.

Horrible - I am beyond words

I am beyond words. Simply dropping off a sample for testing turned into a nightmarish, hours-long debacle. My 90-year-old father was forced to wait more than 3 hours, despite having an appointment, to drop off a sample. He was eventually too ill to remain in the waiting room. No real person was available to help - simply a kiosk and a locked door. He has driven three hours to drop off the frozen sample. It was ruined.

When I returned days later to drop off a sample FOR him, I encountered a multi-hour wait, and the sample defrosted.

Rude customer service

I went into the quest diagnostics here in St. Joseph Michigan to drop off specimen. I didn’t know I had to have an appointment to drop off a stupid urine sample. I went ahead and signed in so they have my drivers license and insurance. And left the sample which should been refrigeratedon the desk for when she had time. My problem with the lady that was there is that she was completely rude rude. She did not greet me. She was just very stern in her saying yes you need to check in and you need an appointment. And I said just to drop this off? yes! Was her response. This was 110 or 1:15 in the afternoon if anybody cares to look back on who this employee is. She has blonde hair. The other lady that I have dealt with there has brown hair and she is very very nice and very accommodating and very helpful. There should be a process in which you can just walk in and drop off a sample. I can use my doctors office for my samples and for my blood draws. So I am going to stop using quest diagnostics from here on out.

Free Online Bill Pay Charging Me For Months

I have been being charged $6.35 a month for months now after paying a lab bill once that this company has linked to on my medical lab website for bill payment.

I was only able to figure out who they were by looking at the phone number in my charge.

They are not free. When I logged in after figuring out who they were, I could see that I hadn't toggled for any more than one time free payment of a medical bill.

Mail your bills in.

This is a scam making money from Americans when we don't have adequate medical care and insurance is making millions.

Terrible

Wish I could give this lab 0 stars. The worst laboratory I have ever had to deal with. There is no one at the window and it's closed and you can't even see through it. Nobody ever acknowledges that you are there. I logged in with their stupid kiosk and sat there for an hour never talking to a person, even though a tech had come into the waiting room a few times to call other people back. I was there for a health screening through my husband's work. I cannot login and make an appointment because I am not the employee. I really needed to talk to a real person.

Avoid: Where Bad Logistics Meets Pointless Bureaucracy

I arrived for my scheduled lab work, but because I wasn’t ready for the urine sample, they sent me home with a container. When I returned to drop it off, I was met with a wall of nonsensical red tape. Even though I was just handing over a bottle, they demanded a completely new appointment and signature. Now, I’m forced to either wait for hours or book yet another time slot just for a 30-second drop-off. It’s a textbook example of poor logistics and zero regard for the patient's time.

Ordered test online and showed up for blood draw. Check in required my insurance info even though test was pre-paid. Even though test was registered and paid for with appointment scheduled (and showed up on time), tech refused service and made us wait 3 hours on standby.

This was at the Quest Encinitas location and I will NEVER use Quest again.

HIPPA VIOLATION BY QUEST DIAGNOSTICS:

HIPPA VIOLATION BY QUEST DIAGNOSTICS:

I have contacted quest customer service via phone even talked to a supervisor who was supposed to fix the issue and didn’t. I also chatted with quest to no avail. Quest refuses to fix my profile account in which they have violated hippa laws by providing my labs results to a different Elizabeth Perez from Chicago IL. AND I am getting this other person’s labs and billing on my profile account with Quest. I hope someone files a lawsuit and maybe then they will fix it

Professional lab services

Alvin was great! I told him I usually pass out when seeing blood or needles and so he took really good care of me and kept me calm. So nice to have a professional person like him. Thank you Quest Diagnostics 230 S Main St, Ste 220, Orange, CA 92868

Profoundly useless

Complete waste of time and waste of an afternoon.
No ability to fix a scheduling issue they created - they just blamed some remote office that was closed.
So despite being there early and having an appointment they had no ability to actually do what they were paid to do. Boothes were filthy too - avoid.

Do we have zero star

Do we have zero star? That's what they deserve. I have used my current insurance for more than 10 years. Each year after my annual physical lab test, they always send a bill and ask to buy up receipt. They always send my bill to the insurance I used 10 years ago! I called them a few times and they never update it. I guess it's because they ask me for a few hundreds and they only can get from my insurance for 1/10th as they asked.

Can I give a review of less than 1

Deceptive practice: had me sign a form that I would pay if my insurance company did not. I told them I would not sign it and that I didn't want the test. (I know the game. if they tell you that your insurance company might not pay, it means they will not pay so do not take the test.) They say I signed the form, they couldn't provide me the form. They kept telling me they sent it. I would NEVER knowingly sign that form (again, I know their game). DECEPTIVE PRACTIVE. The only form I knowingly signed was saying who I was and my birthdate.

Horrible Beyond Horrible

Oh. My. Goodness. My husband had severe diarrhea and we had to use Quest Diagnostics for the labs. We filed for financial assistance FOUR times, through phone calls, mail, everything, and they NEVER got back to us. In fact, they sent us to collections. If you can, NEVER use them.

Extremely Bad Experience

The technician was extremely incompetent. First she did not know most of the codes for the blood work, then she insisted that the dr had ordered a cerebral spinal fluid test which I know was absolutely wrong as my tests had nothing to do with any head or spine issues. Lastly while drawing blood she managed to nick me in a way that my blood squirted all over my pant, arm and the floor. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life!! This is the last time I am going to the Quest lab in Scarsdale NY
