ST-2 Solved my Snoring
It's hard to put all the context in one review, but the ST-2 solved my snoring and also my sleep apnea. I had significant issues with day time tiredness since my 20s. I couldn't figure it out. I'm about 5'11" and weigh about 160lbs. I never thought of sleep apnea, but in my early 40s as my daytime tiredness because more of a problem, I finally got a sleep study. They diagnosed me with mild sleep apnea. I was surprised because I never stopped breathing at night, but I learned about hypopnea (breathing doesn't stop, but O2 drops and triggers alert/wake up signal to my brain). It turned out the frequent hypopnea was disrupting my deep sleep to the point that I had almost none - the likely cause of my daytime tiredness. They prescribed me a CPAP and I tried that for one year. I saw some mild relief, but after awhile the CPAP became less and less tolerable due to over pressurizing and bloating. My sleep study with the CPAP also showed that my apnea/hypopnea was controlled, but my sleep architecture (i.e. deep sleep) was still not in the correct ratios and I was still very tired during the day. I was referred to a sleep apnea dentist who prescribed me a Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) that pushes my lower jaw forward to move my tongue forward at night. I used that for a year and it again treated my apnea, but not my sleep architecture (i.e. deep sleep). I still had daytime tiredness and my sleep doctor prescribed me a stimulant. After about 6 months, my jaw really started to hurt and my bite was misaligned. I was desperate for another solution. I looked all over the internet. Since the MAD worked for me, I was confident something to restrain my tongue would work if I could find the right product. I tried the tongue suction bulbs, I tried tongue muscle training, nothing worked for me. I stumbled across Michael and the ST-1 and ST-2 and changed my life. The ST-1 didn't work well for me and I had a great dialogue with Michael about the fit and my concerns. He recommended the ST-2 and I tried that. It took some getting used to, but the drooling didn't last long and once my tongue became accustomed to the feel, it was very comfortable. I would say it took about 2 weeks for me to figure it out. After that, my sleep quality improved noticeable and my snoring pretty much stopped. After using for about 6 months, I noticed my daytime tiredness was becoming less of an issue. After about 9 months I tried stopping the stimulant and found I didn't need it anymore. I worked with a sleep doctor at my local university and did several sleep studies and confirmed what I suspected. The ST-2 was so effective, that all the micro sleep interruptions from my tongue movement stopped and my deep sleep was being measured at normal levels for first time in probably 20 years. I was blown away. I've kept up my dialogue with Michael and shared with him my results and story. I'm a true believer, this is a great innovative product and I can't recommend it enough.
I wish I could give 1,000 stars....
Even though the device will not work for me, my issue is more complicated than my tongue, I am leaving a 5 star review because of the stellar customer service and support this company offered me. Mr. Rowarth did everything he could to try to help. The ST-2 didn't work because I am older and my teeth are ultra sensitive. I was experiencing intense pain because of the restraining of my teeth, when I requested a refund, Mr. Rowarth suggested I try the ST-1 and sent to me immediately. No fussing whatsoever. The ST-1 did not work because my mouth didn't like anything in it while I sleep. I would pull it out during my sleep. I was still snoring as well. Even though it did not work for me, does not mean it will not work for others. As I say, my situation is unique. I at least know that my tongue is not the issue. I have severe sleep apnea. The type that can not be helped with a C-Pap machine, nor putting my mandible in a forward position as dental devices do. The issue is that my tongue is huge, my head is not huge, and my sinus system is simply being too compacted. After telling Mr. Rowarth that it appears nothing, including his devices will work for me he immediately posted my refund. The refund process is simple because you just cut up the device, take a pic and email the pic to him. Again, no fussing about so there should be no concern whatsoever that the company is in New Zealand. Most important here is that there is absolutely no risk whatsoever in giving this unit a try. To top it off, I ask Mr. Rowarth to keep some of the refund price for all of the trouble I put him through and he refused. Good people here. You honestly have absolutely nothing to lose in giving the device a try. Ron
This device works
This device works. It did not completely eliminate all of my snoring, but it stopped the loud, rumbling, snort-like snoring. It is quiet comfortable it is to wear. I have woken up and not realized I am wearing it. I was not on a CPAP, so I can't compare that aspect of it.
I have been struggling with snoring…
I have been struggling with snoring over the past few years now which I think is has a result of weight gain. I was curious when I got the ST-2 which was recommended. Now, I wish I had got this earlier because now I get to enjoy calm nights without snores. I also like that it is really comfortable because that is really important to me.
Couldn't swallow
I bought this for my husband to try, but because he swallows in his sleep he couldn't use it because he was unable to swallow properly. Not sure whether there is any remedy for this, but sadly it didn't work for us.
I had a very difficult time fitting…
I had a very difficult time fitting this to my mouth, so much that I really haven't even used it. I tried and couldn't really swallow with it in.
disappointed.
Unfortunately despite trying it on…
Unfortunately despite trying it on numerous occasions this didn’t work for me.
However the company was brilliant & gave me an immediate refund.
It doesn't fit comfortable
It doesn't fit comfortable. I drool constantly. Cannot use it.
Need more teeth!
Struggled to get the device to work, as I have few back teeth, so it struggled to stay in place
I thought this would be the answer
I thought this would be the answer. However, my wife informed me that the snoring didn't stop. So, where to go from here?

Package arrive quickly and was well presented. Followed instructions for fit but on first night it was extremely uncomfortable - the sides hurt my gums and the rough plate to hold tongue made it really sore . Re moulded it before the second night but , although it fit slightly better it was still extremely uncomfortable , tried for several more nights but it kept me awake and just wasn’t for me . Others may have a better experience if they can get the fit right .

Sorry. It didn't work for me.
Sorry, but this didn't work for me. Apparently my tongue is not the reason for my snoring. It is also very irritating on my tongue and I couldn't get used to it even after several weeks.
A mouthpiece that pulls my lower jaw out slightly not only worked for me, it was also much more comfortable. Maybe this device works for some, but it just didn't work for me.
Even after trying to trim it it digs…
Even after trying to trim it it digs into the soft part of my mouth. Too painful to wear.
It did not work for me as my mouth is…
It did not work for me as my mouth is "too small"; which I believe is due to the fact that I have all 32 of my teeth! I could not get a good fit and in an attempt to get a better fit, I re-boiled the device 4 times which resulted in it being no longer pliable?

Terrible
Terrible. It made me gag and I couldn’t swallow. Plus it made my tongue soar. All that and it didn’t work.

Device worked
Device worked, but would not allow me to sleep. Had to remove it to sleep, defeating the purpose. I tried it for several nights hoping that the tongue could be trained by muscle memory to not cause snoring. It did not work.
Didn't work for my husband
Didn't work for my husband, however they did refund the full price straight away
