Jotun Hardtop XP is a two-pack, chemically curing aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating for use as a durable topcoat in atmospheric environments. It provides a glossy finish with strong gloss retention, making it suitable for exposed marine and protective coating systems where appearance and long-term finish quality matter. It is recommended for marine topsides, decks and superstructures, as well as demanding protective environments including offshore structures, refineries, power plants, bridges, buildings and a wide range of industrial structures. It can be used as a topcoat in selected pre-qualified NORSOK systems. Hardtop XP can be used over compatible previous coats, including epoxy, zinc epoxy, epoxy mastic and polyurethane coatings. Various primers and topcoats may be used with the system, depending on exposure and specification. Application methods: airless spray, air spray, brush and roller. Mixing ratio: 10 parts Comp A to 1 part Comp B by volume. Theoretical spreading rate: 12.6–6.3m²/litre, depending on film thickness. Typical dry film thickness: 50–100 microns per coat. Touch dry from 16 hours at 5°C to 2 hours at 40°C. Heat resistance: 120°C continuous and 140°C peak in dry atmospheric conditions. Limitations: this product is for professional use only. Applicators must be trained, experienced and equipped to mix, stir and apply the coating correctly. Use only on clean, dry, undamaged compatible coatings. Do not inhale spray mist. Avoid skin contact. Bright colours may need the higher end of the recommended film thickness range for opacity. Special effect colours may require a different specification.
