Suitable Surfaces and Application Areas Suitable for a variety of correctly prepared substrates including interior wood, plaster, drywall, exterior wood trims and doors, masonry, iron, steel, and galvanised or aluminium surfaces. Aqualac is particularly recommended for doors, trims, and cabinets where a professional result is required. Certified Safety and Environmental Performance Fire Retardant on non-combustible substrates: Certified B-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1:2007+A1:2009 A+ Indoor Air Quality Certification (ISO 16009-9) AgBB Certified for low emissions (ISO 16000-6:2006) These certifications ensure the product is safe for use in residential, commercial, and healthcare environments where air quality and fire safety are essential. Surface Preparation Guidelines All surfaces must be sound, clean, dry, and free of contaminants. For interior wood, use a primer. For metal substrates, including iron and steel, apply Metalex antirust primer. Aluminium and galvanised surfaces must be degreased and cleaned before applying Waterprim or Multi-support primer. Previously painted surfaces should be lightly sanded to remove gloss and ensure adhesion. Avoid use on cracked or fissured wood. Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C, in direct sunlight, or where strong winds or rain are expected. Application and Finish Recommendations Apply using brush or enamel roller, ensuring the enamel is stretched evenly. Two coats are recommended for outdoor surfaces. Aqualac dries to the touch in 1 hour and is ready for re-coating after 24 hours. Do not exceed 8 days between coats. Clean tools and any spills immediately using soapy water. Restrictions and Environmental Considerations Do not use the enamel on surfaces that are excessively hot, damp, or during periods of high humidity (over 80%). Always avoid application on wet or unprimed porous substrates. Never use on cracked wood or where surface moisture exceeds 15%. Avoid discharging residues into drains; dispose of waste responsibly through authorised collection points. The Matt finish must only be used in interior environments. Always Consult the Product Data Sheet For best results, always refer to the full technical data sheet for detailed preparation, application and safety guidance.
