Wild learned how predatory their services are through the card teamed with ODSP, and second month, I have noticed hidden fees, deception in the claims they make regarding atms and abms, slamming you with fees despite their claims of the opposite, oh and love that RBC Banks have no access to Right Pay cards, making it a loophole for accountability, so they will tell you to go to everyone else to solve RBC taking my money, a 7 day venture only to find they lied the whole time , so my interest company returned the double payment, yet disappeared in the RBC con

It shouldn’t be this difficult and frustrating to speak with a live agent!!!

How much longer would RBC continue to ignore the ineffectiveness of it’s virtual assistant and the eventual frustrations caused with this interaction.

I tried to speak with a live agent and instead had to repeat my request. I couldn’t get past the “ ENTER YOUR CLIENT CARD” prompt- I couldn’t enter a card because I don’t have one!!! The call ended up being terminated by the virtual assistant.

RBC - pay attention to what your customers are saying. Don’t ignore your stats for dropped/ abandon calls that is if you’re paying attention to it. Do the right thing and fix your broken systems and processes.

Make CUSTOMER SERVICE A PRIORITY!

Warning their promo rate is not true.

Warning! don't get hooked with RBC promo visa rate 0.99% it is not true. Ive been a loyal customer of RBC for more than a decade, I dont usually get a credit card together with my bank but I decided to give it a try since it is low interest rate promotion, but to my dismayed when I recieved my physical card the interest rate is 1.90% instead of 0.99% that the promotion advertised. I tried to call customer service but I didn't get the help and the explanations that I needed and the customer service sounds irritated when I tried to point out what it is the promotion advertisement. I feel like I cannot trust RBC as my bank now and thinking to move to other bank now.

RBC Loan Release letter

H, I took a loan from RBC for my car, they are literal Loan Sharks and charged 9.4% interest. So I decided to pay it off with Line of Credit which is much lower interest rate. I paid the loan off and am waiting for the release letter for two months. InitiallyI spoke with their CSR Agent Heather and then Peter. Still havent got my Loan Release Letter. Crooked company. If your vehicle gets into an accident, the payment goes to the Lien company not you, BEWARE.
The worst Loan company.

Charged Fees Without Any Warning

I usually keep my credit card balance below zero and have been a very careful customer. However, in January my card went slightly over the limit without me realizing it. RBC charged two $29 over-limit fees without sending any notification — no SMS, no email, and no phone call. What disappointed me even more was that customer service refused to waive the fees, despite the fact that I hold one of RBC’s highest-tier banking packages. For a long-term client with an excellent payment history, this level of service is quite disappointing.

No transactions allowed. Ever.

I was unable to make an international deposit into my wife’s account for no reason. I have close to 2 million net worth in assets and capital and RBC can’t make a 1200.00 dollar transfer even though it is a 50 k daily limit. RBC will not allow other transactions for said amount through their visa even with over 40k daily limit. It’s pretty sad when when you have money problems not from unaffordability, but because you bank with RBC. Their security is a huge scam to keep your money and I think RBC system separated the customer from their money. I’m pulling all investments and other products when I return to Canada.

Worst bank in Canada

RBC is equal to or the worst bank in Canada. Their customer service has gone down the toilet and they don't give a shit about their customers. When I originally joined RBC their customer service was very good - which is why I joined. Now they have foreign workers who don't speak English well who are rude. Last night I was hung up on twice trying to get help after they locked my account for no reason, and told me I'd have to visit a branch on Monday to get it unlocked. So 2 days with no access to my money, with zero explanation. I've now opened accounts at other banks and will be moving all my assets. Oh, I'm also an RBC shareholder, so their crap service affects me that way too. Total shit!

If you like having access to your money…

If you like having access to your money while travelling AVOID RBC. The staff are rude and take no responsibility. We have been locked out of our cards while abroad and the are refusing to unlock them or to help us. They have literally abandoned us internationally by not giving us access to our own money. They are useless, rude, lazy incompetent people. RBC you should be ashamed to call yourselves Canadians.

Refundable taxes not refunded — unacceptable delay and lack of accountability

I booked an international itinerary via Avion Rewards Travel involving KLM. While the ticket itself was non-refundable, taxes and mandatory fees are refundable under fare rules.

Taxes & fees paid: CAD 744.60

Refund processed: CAD 0.00

Waiting period: month

Outcome so far: No clear response, no refund, no timeline

Despite clear documentation and multiple follow-ups, responsibility keeps shifting between the booking platform and the airline, with no resolution.

This is not about goodwill—it’s about honoring standard refund rules for unused taxes and fees.

Very disappointed.
I would advise travelers to be cautious when booking through reward platforms if refunds may be required.

be careful of major heath issues if you use RBC

to start, I apologies for the silly length of this entry , I am determined to be fair. I have been a customer of RBC for 40 years. About 22 montha ago I had 2major ICH incidences followed by 2 full craniotomy’s. I was in the ICUfor 5 months then7 months of acute care. While I was in hospital, my income reduced with the company h disability plan for short and medium plans of course. I was giving my wife the computer when I could for life, bills etc.one of these times I entered the postal code code slightly different to what RBC was looking for. In the wake of doing this 3 times, they froze my account. The only option even to transfer it to my wife was go to a branch and work it out. I was hooked up to the full telemetry, taking countless tests. No way to go, they kept saying only this would work, even with life Webex calls with my passport held to the side of my head by a nurse.no go. On phone help they demanded I try again with the real postal code that started this mess. Groundhog Day me from scratch, no access , no transfers, bill payments,NaDa.7weeksafter this and countless calls to help line, This is real, you will think I made it up, if you send me a message I can show you the docs, One miorning I am checking my email and RBC has sent theusual note to let me know, I changed my password, M wife calls and asked how could I get in real trouble from the hospital, my daughter left to meet friends and was greeted by 3 of Torontos finest in front of our townhouse. They, told her tocall a cell number from one of them. when I spoke with him he explained someone had used my RBC account to buy a handgun from Texas. I call RBC and sure enough they had lett someone else in my online banking account. gotta say, had a little fun with RBC. I asked to speak to a fraud manager and I asked him if he could do me a favour under the circumstances. Sure he says. I proceed to request he find the person who he gave my bank account access to change the password, I explained he can use my account more in 20 hours more than I have in the last 5 months. Yes,I am an ass, but hey, living ass no small task for the best hospital in Canada, SunnyBrook. still have any account issues, the hep line has called me a scammer, liar about my limited mobility, and more.So what have learned from this dumpster fire of a story Santa? Well kids, I f you have a dime in RBC, officially appoint a power of attorney for financial not medical decisions. Also, check with your companies health coverage for cost of living funds should you find yourself in a similar situation, I truly hope not. Your credit cards will also give you balance insurance for a few bucks a month, I didn’t sadly. If you need any information on anything I went through, please direct message me via trust pilot. Hug your loved ones and stay safe.
