Great service for school websites

Great experience, worked together with the realsmart team to create a cohesive theme, and then build, of websites to roll out across our Trust of schools, support continues after payment and a member of their team is always just a phone call away. They have also offered virtual training over Google Meet whenever we have onboarded new staff to get them up to speed on how to use and maintain our sites.

Cannot recommend them enough.

Worst company we've ever dealt with.

Well, long story short our experiences with this "learning company" were an education in itself. They've recently changed their company name from "Smart Arses" however the latter moniker fits like a glove.

Aggressive sales team made promises of functionality in the software that could not be delivered. The sales team will push you to pay for your license for the full year up-front before it is actually delivered and then threaten you with legal action if you are unsatisfied with the software.

When I expressed concern paying for a full year up front for an untested platform the sales team agreed to take payment in four consecutive monthly installments.

The company make claims of integration with Google Classroom however this is not the case. The realsmart portfolio is basically a mish-mash of free wordpress plugins tied together in a very slow very unintuitive looking interface.

The training provided by the company to launch the software was poor, over an hour late and proceeded to talk about his new diet. When we reminded him that time was short he asked our staff what we would like to learn rather than delivering a planned session.

The trainer's understanding of Google products was poor. Numerous times we had to interrupt the lessons to help him find features in Google Classroom. When I privately complained that I didn't think the session was going well, the trainer just laughed and shrugged it off with indifference.

During the session it became clear that the product had been mis-sold and was not fit for purpose and I sent a nice letter saying that unfortunately we would not be able to use the software and would like to be refunded for the monies paid up front. One of the directors responded by telephone, accusing seven my staff of lying and claiming that we were just "trying to get out of paying". When I told him this was absurd and that the product was simply not fit for purpose he claimed that we should change our procedures to fit the software better. I stated that this attitude was ignorant of the failings in the product and that Realsmart should simply use the experience to learn about it's capabilities to which the director replied:

"Ignorance is bliss, and I will blissfully instruct my lawyers to pursue you for the full amount."

Realsmart then filed a small court claim against our company filled with lies, saying that we were not entitled to a refund under the sale of goods act because they claimed we made the purchase by telephone six months earlier that we actually did!!! They had no records of any purchase orders, they simply fabricated a story to make a claim.

Thankfully we had enough evidence through email correspondence to prove this claim was completely false and we made a counterclaim of our own. In the end the lawyers for Realsmart made an offer to settle out of court by refunding the monies owed to us. The process was a painful, anxious, expensive, time wasting exersize that any company (particularly small organisations) should avoid at all cost.

Find someone else for you VLE requirements.
