This company pulled an unauthorized credit bureau report without a signed consent on any paper form or online through email or otherwise. This is against the law. If anyone else has been a victim of this kind of breach please wtite review with your contact information as I am commencing a class action against this company and the landlords abusing this service while bresking Canadian law.

Trust me as a landlord for over 15 years with 12 properties, avoid this company, there are many others who offer a cheaper and more efficient service, paid for same day guarantee priority service, got references 3-4 days later with no apologies or refund for the express service, then had the cheek to pursue me for payment 1 year later for monies already paid to them, no apologies and no follow up confirmation that its all been sorted.

Always been good before but this time I purchased a check, my tenant did the forms. No response.
Chased three times. Nothing.
Chased again, one email back claiming system issues please re-submit.
Re-submitted and no response. Three weeks on no report. Have filed a PayPal claim against them now.

Shame really but beware plenty of alternatives out there.

The Covid-19 crisis led to 3 of my tenants being unable to pay their rent due to job losses & lack of income. I took out rent warranty with Rentchecks last year on each of my properties & they have paid my missing rent without quibble or hassle for the past 5 months. I had to call their customer service team last month & although it took a while to get through, they were very helpful & human like rather than faceless. I recommend them to all landlords especially in these uncertain times!

I previously used an estate agent to let my2 bed apartment but this time I thought that i’d go it slime &find a tenant myself to avoid the high agency fees. A work colleague recommended rentchecks.com & they turned out to be a real life saver!! They declined the first applicants as they lied about their income but my second choice passed same day. The staff on the live chat were excellent & really helpful (not robots) & i took out a guarantee on the rent which leaves me stress free! all in all they were first class considering that i am a bit of a technophobe :)

I paid $25 for a report that said I am not listed, however there report was fake and i discovered I was listed. dont trust them

Truly amazing! I took their warranty & needed it as my tenants split up & couldn’t pay. Rent checks paid my rent for 3 months without issue. Thankfully I re-let the property & used them to check the new tenant

This site was recommended to me by an estate agent friend & it has been a godsend! Not only do they check the background & credit of my new tenants, they actually paid the rent last month because one of my tenants lost his job! I have had loads of help via their online chat (thanks Emily) & feel as though rentchecks have my back. Great service guys

I used this company to check how good my potential tenants were over 5 years ago & cannot be happier. I had an issue last month where the tenant was bringing a sub tenant in & they advised me how to proceed & even checked the guy for free!! I have always spoken with Drew who is very clued up about the tenancy law etc. I recommend rentchecks to anyone involved in letting & have a warranty with them which is really reassuring

where do i start.
this company is a massive joke. I have tried to claim rent warranty for 2 of our properties over the course of 2-3 months with multiple phone calls and emails where i am told the certificate will get sent out but being told that the 3rd party insurance company they use hasnt sent it to them yet.
When in-fact the rentchecks website specifically says they DO NOT USE a 3rd party insurance company and that they deal with the warranty themselves.
They Now dodge all my phone calls and never reply to my emails even though they have been paid for a service they never deliver on.
False Advertisement / horrible customer service.
Good luck getting paid out on rent warranty .
They are very good at taking your money but the same cant be said when you are in rent arrears and you have rent warranty with this company.
AVOID - BE WARNED !!!!!!!

My ex flatmate put me on to Rentchecks & it turned out to be a really good tip. My new estate agent wanted £200 for my reference & credit checks but Rentchecks did it for £38. Great service for us mere tenants!

As I live outside of the UK & rent out my 2 properties in London I have to be sure that I have truly good tenants. Because of this I have used Rentchecks to check my tenants & protect my rent using their warranty scheme. I do
recommend this service as it is really reasonable & painless. I pay £10
a month & know that my rent is covered whatever happens. Kathryn on the phones is an asset to your company.

The reference checking came back quickly but unfortunately light on detail. For example, no confirmation of residency entitlement included or information to back up affordability. I have tried to contact Drew (sounds like he runs rentchecks) many times through all channels to get further information but to no avail. Very poor customer service. Their website also doesn't let me view my report. I will be going back to my previous supplier. Also, don't bother calling the number listed on Trust Pilot, it goes to another unrelated business.

As a btl landlord I am 100% reliant on my referencing agency to check
out new tenants. Rentchecks came highly recommended a few years ago by an estate agent friend of mine & I have used them over 10 times. I tend to use the fast service & they have never failed me. They give me clear advise & do the job properly. I used them again this week & they spotted something off with the application & advised me not to proceed. Having had bad tenants in the past I didn't hesitate to listen to these guys as they will save me money & head aches in the future. Top team at rentchecks (especially John on the phones)

As a small estate agent we cannot afford to take risks with tenants. renthchecks are super fast but really efficient & if our staff have any problems they always help us out. Their team are all friendly & knowledgeable

Rentchecks.com check out my prospective tenants before I will let them rent & in over 5 years they have never let me down. I recommend them 100% & know that they go the extra mile to ensure that the applicant's are legitimate

I have used them several times in the last few years. I have found their website a little hard to navigate but once sorted their service was fine. However on this occasion (June 2017) they have been horrendous. It took several attempts for them to receive the email from my tenants to start the process, once started they didnt send me the correct reports (I had a guarantor report when it should have been a tenant report) and now one of the reports links to a completely different customer. They have not contacted me once despite me emailing them several times. I have now written to them with a signed for letter in the hope they will acknowledge what has happened. Please be warned!
