Great customer service

I personally had a great experience renting from Renting Milan. Their customer service was top-notch, and the rental property was immaculate and well maintained. Any issues I had were promptly adressed and their team made my move to Milan a hassle-free experience. Highly recommend!

Great company if you are an international student

Renting Milan has helped me find an apartment for my student period in Milan, the process was quick and easy. If you do not speak Italian I highly recommend them, they're one of the rare agencies that was fluent in English!

AVOID

BEWARE OF SCAM: This company is withholding my security deposit with no reasoning.

I recommend avoiding the company entirely as based on other reviews this seems a practice of the company. Especially as in my case I hardly even stayed in the apartment during a short rent.

The company is not even providing reasoning for not returning the deposit and in my case, I barely stayed in the apartment due to traveling most of the course of 6 months renting the apartment so there was no possibility even for any wear on the condition.

AVOID

UPDATE:
2023: BEWARE!!!! SCAMMERS! For Americans and other foreigners. Editing my review for various reasons now that I have moved out.
There are hidden agendas with working with this agency and the landlords they service.

Landlords will try to renovate their apartments on YOUR DIME. And the agency will leave you high and dry trying to defend yourself.

Recommendations for people:

moving in and out TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING (even if it seems minor) They only take photos of damages they see from a distance. Therefore if something is not photographed they can possibly blame you.
Ie. Bed frame and mattress cover was heavy stained. My fault for not noticing and producing photos didn’t think it was important. Also not noticeable when covered with covers and linens, so does not show in photos. I purchased my own linens from IKEA. I am being blamed for the condition of the frame but they cannot provide photos up close from previous tenants walk through to compare.

Rebuttal any comments on the protocol list if need be.

MAKE COMMENTS ON THE INVENTORY LIST. The item may be visible however make sure you comment on the condition and working status.

MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WORKS to its full capacity more than the large appliances and electrical.
I.e vacuum cleaner was partially functional. I taped the lid of the vacuum because it kept opening while in use. Now I’m being blamed for it being broken… (also charged to replace the entire vacuum. However they didn’t even know it wasn’t functioning properly from the last tenant)

Each apartment has their own policy, and contract READ IT THOROUGHLY AND IN ENGLISH, you are responsible for maintenance as well of the apartment! For instance yearly boiler maintenance. Typical things that should be taken care of from the property managers and landlord

Also if you plan on extending your contract, anywhere from 1 month or more you will have to pay a commission fee again.

A staff with no accountability. Will only defend the landlords because they are money hungry. Any kind of disagreement they will say “we will take legal matters” to scare you. So I’m prepared to receive a tone deaf message from the agency telling me how I am wrong. Oh well. Find another agency to work with.

UPDATE: AFTER MONTHS of back and forth with the landlord we finally came to an agreement on charges. Had we not stood our ground. My entire deposit would have NOT been returned.

AVOID rentingmilan.com

Smooth experience when renting out, turned to be a nightmare when the rent expired. A €2700 deposit on my son's apartment was reduced in excess of €1088 (40% of the deposit was simply unilaterally seized by the landlord), and the payment of the outstanding was made only after 2 months and 8 reminders, when I warned the agency of retaining a lawyer. This agency is siding 100% with the dishonest landlord.
When signing the contract, I received an English translation (the draft was sent to me for information as I don't speak Italian, i.e. the language of the contract), however the content was DIFFERENT than the Italian original that I was asked to sign. Differences may seem minor but they are contractually important, e.g. in the Italian contract there was no date for reimbursement of deposit. I believe this difference was introduced intentionally, given my later problems with obtaining the reimbursement.

Note 1: there are two agencies of a similar name in Milan, this is specifically about rentingmilan.com

Note 2: this post is edited (i.a. I replaced the word “stolen” with “unilaterally seized”) after a reaction of the agency, warning me of taking legal steps against me. That was reaction I received from the manager of rentingmilan.com, six months after returning the apartment.

Total rip off

Total rip off. Unjustified and extremely high agency commission. They force you to sign a rental contract written ONLY in Italian language, which gives a huge advantage, power and opportunity to the landlords to MANIPULATE and RACKETEER the tenants while they don't have any way to fight back / after all the landlords are holding 3 rents bond /. Never seen such a discrimination and a double standard. The agency only supports the landlords and they act as observers when you need them. Very mediocre company. Worst experience with your lousy service and extortionate and unfair fees.
Let see how they will perform in tough times like NOW.
