The absolute worst (but a shoutout for Booking.com)
The absolute worst. This is the second time I have taken a car with RentPlus.
The issue is a customer service one. Last week, I was sold an insurance policy after being told the "Zurich UK Full Insurance" policy I took out with Booking.com when I booked the car in fact didn't provide me with full cover.
In addition, I was told that "it wasn't insurance at all."
I wasn't convinced, but decided to take out the extra cover they suggested at the time, as my flight was delayed arriving into Prague and we needed to get away stress-free without insurance worries.
After I returned the car, I contacted Booking.com to query this, who were great. They confirmed my suspicions that my Zurich policy indeed did give me full cover, so I didn't need that other policy. They also kindly said would refund the cost of the Zurich policy for me (even though the RentPlus scam had nothing to do with them).
I emailed RentPlus afterwards to ask them for receipt of the insurance they charged me, so I could forward to Booking.com for my Zurich refund, and to state my unhappiness with the service I received. I also mentioned I would leave them a poor Trustpilot review if they didn't adequately try to resolve the situation themselves.
Lo and behold, they simply sent my receipt over, without a single word to address my concerns. They simply wanted to get shot of me.
While I'm being refunded for the Zurich policy, I'm still slightly out of pocket, as the unnecessary policy RentPlus sold me was the more expensive of the two.
So there you have it. I won't be using RentPlus again. The car itself was great and very clean. However, their desk staff are rude and -- judging from my own experience and others on Trustpilot -- they seem to want to rip customers off.
