Mystery gym reviews
As a mystery shopper who reviews gyms all over the U.K, I was told by a friend to go to this gym, because of the friendliness that this gym is supposed to offer and is famous for. I wanted to see for myself, so I visited this gym over the course of two days.
I bought a weekly pass which was very good value for only £10.
What I discovered was a gym with staff members who clearly did not have any manners or customer care.
It's a small gym with fairly nice and welcoming members, which I thought was great. I later on found out that the gym is owned by a Mr Sean Kennedy, who was an England ex strongest man (very impressive qualifications). Unfortunately the staff on the other hand had a lot to be desired. Two VERY different staff members on two different days. On my first visit I was greeted buy a young man who welcomed me and told me if I need anything, just come back and he would be happy to help.
The second visit did not go as well.
When I went back on the second time I told the black girl that I had purchased a weekly membership. "name?" No hello or small chit chat, but a one worded question.
I mistakenly took her for being a man and she clearly looked like a very heavy steroid user! Now I'm not sure if she had a bad day, which in my book is no excuse.
I came up to the counter and asked for a drink from the locked fridge (which is a new one for me), the reaction that I got from her was somewhat unexpected.
A big sigh for getting up from behind the counter to get me a drink and then, forget being polite, just absolutely no manners or customer service what so ever when asking for the money.
The conclusion:
Would I go back?
Not a simple answer..., but it's a resounding NO from me, simply for being treated like crap.
I would say avoid this gym and spend your hard earned money somewhere else (especially if steroided she hulk is there!).
If SHE was not there, then this gym would be an amazing place to workout, even with the limited size and lack of cardio machines that are there.
You have been warned, I would not go back there again.
