Faulty zip after 2nd use - bad customer service

Purchased a briefcase bag. Used it 2 times over the space of 5 weeks as I only go into the office once a month. Zip broke so was not ideal as I travel on the tube. Contacted support and they offered a replacement, but I wasn’t not happy to replace as I had lost trust and wanted to use my money to purchase a bag I had prior experience with instead.

After informing support of this their attitude via email went down hill. They latched on to the fact I had contacted them 5 weeks from purchase date and kept reiterating they have fulfilled their legal obligations set out in terms & conditions.

So after realising I wasn’t going to get my money back I asked them to send me a replacement. They initially stated in their 1st email that I didn’t need to send back the item for a swap. But after I asked for a refund they had a change of heart and said if I wanted a replacement item I needed to send back the item first before they send a replacement. I also east instructed that postage was to be paid by me and then they will refund just the postage. But sending the item I would also still need to pay for correct packaging, again at my cost. Again they were stating in various emailed it’s part of their terms & conditions and they have fulfilled legal obligations.

Again as this was a faulty item o believe this not to be the correct way to handle situations as a company.

This is clearly not the way to hold onto customers or deal with these situations. I’ll definitely not be buying anything else from the company in future nor will I be recommending them.

I would be careful buying from this company especially if you commute only a day to two a month to the office like myself and therefore only use the product in a limited amount. If something goes wrong you will have lost your money and functionality of the product, only to be met with poor customer service and a barrage of terms and condition and the statements that they have legally obliged on their part.

Order Num : 1791 - if someone would like to contact me from the company. Although from previous comms this is unlikely, as it would probably break their t&c’s!

We apologise for you having this experience. We make every effort to keep our customer service a friendly and easy experience.

We are sure that you are aware that every company, brand, clothing store, etc have a set of Terms and Conditions, including a Returns Policy. This is what legally keeps the Brand and Customers safe at all times during their transaction.

We fully understand your frustration, and apologise for any misunderstanding.
We have (like many companies) a returns policy. This policy allows any customer to return their product for a full refund, within 14 days of purchase.
This also states that the product must be in its original unused condition.

Since you have had the product roughly 6 weeks, and used the product various times, we are willing to waive this policy slightly to allow you to get a replacement free of charge, and any return postage incurred will be refunded back to you.
This is also in our T's and C's, that return items need to be paid for by the customer.

All we ask is for you to return the product to us.

In this instance our efforts have been clear and fair, but you have decided not to take this option.

We take pride in our products, and we can only apologise if for any reason at all this product has become faulty.
But rest assured our products are quality checked before they leave our warehouse, and would not arrive to you in a faulty condition.
That being said, we are 100% willing to replace the item free of charge, as stated several times.
We are doing everything we can to get this matter resolved.

Excellent product of the highest quality. Wonderful service too, had some issues with Royal Mail with the delivery of the product but Ricco Zano were easily accessible and efficiently helped me with an issue which wasn’t under their control. Shipped very quickly after ordering and would have arrived in no time if it wasn’t for external issues not at the fault of Ricco Zano. Very happy with the product. 👍🏻

Amazing products and great service! I was very impressed with the quality of the card holder I purchased, the leather was strong and durable and the croc print was great too. The service from Ricco Zano was second to none. Overall very impressed guys!
