Rightmove Property purchase date wrong by 10 years .

I contacted Rightmove as they are showing the incorrect date I purchased my property I supplied 100% proof their entry is incorrect but they will not amend it or remove it. I purchased the property over 10 years ago which it clearly shows in the land registry but Rightmove have it as being purchased 1 year ago which is greatly affecting the sale of the property as people put in offers that are accepted then hugely reduce them when they view property history on Rightmove . When they are told Right move have it wrong they feel there is something not quite right and withdraw their offer. It has happened several times.

GREAT

Smooth, straightforward, and genuinely helpful.
This was my first time being vetted by Rightmove, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. No endless forms or pointless questions — just a clean, simple process. I had a query on my end because my accountant hadn’t replied to their email, so I had to chase him up. Once he finally responded, I spoke with Guy Brown and Carli Dodd, who were both incredibly understanding and helpful. They explained everything clearly and made the whole experience stress-free.

Don't know when to give up
I have used them to look for properties, but in exchange, you are bombarded with emails about this and that.
Fed up with them sending all these emails, I unsubscribed.
Guess what?
The emails still keep coming.
Well Rightmove, you'll be pleased to know that you have joined the blocked senders list, awarded junk/spam status.
Well done.

Well what does the unsubscribe form the email mean when you keep sending emails from Rightmove?

website is a waste of time literally doesnt work

Worst website ever ive submitted 10 enquires in the last 3 weeks, not received one email. the verrification process doesnt even work, ive never received an email which is impossible to submit an enquirey. Tried to register, dont receive confirmation emails, tried to re do password, nothing.

Can't register or sign in. If I enter my email then I am not given an option to register. If I ask for a password reminder the email never arrives, not in my inbox or spam. Pointless.

New UI draw a search is terrible

The new UI to draw a search is so much worse than the previous one. The rail at the bottom was super useful. Also when you clicked on a house it would find it in the rail so you could decide whether to click. I wonder if they made it worse by design to make people go through the other search and see more ads. Really disappointed. It was the one advantage over Zoopla.

My experience has been awful and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same. After leaving the property in SEPT 2025, they kept £560 of our deposit for issues that were pre-existing, approved by them in writing, or general wear and tear.
They relied on an old, inaccurate video as “evidence.”
They charged us for items I had written permission to leave behind.
They deducted for things that were already damaged before we moved in (cracked sink, broken freezer drawer, marked walls, curtains that were repeatedly fixed during the tenancy).

There were persistent rat infestations that were never fully resolved despite multiple reports. THIS HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE 2021

When challenged with photos and videos, they dismissed everything and hid behind the DPS decision I accepted while abroad — before I had seen their so-called evidence.
This behaviour is unacceptable. If you value honesty, fairness and transparency, avoid them completely. There are far better and more professional agents and landlords out there.

ABSOLUTE SCAM!!!!!

Once you’ve gone through the agent’s in-house complaint’s procedure, you can then escalate it to the appropriate Governing Body if the outcome of your complaint isn’t satisfactory. We’re not a governing body here at Rightmove which means that we don’t have regulatory or enforcement powers over agents or landlords.

Everyone should know this!

The word disgusting does not cut it. We listed our Cornwall property for sale through a local agent. After a long period of time we decided to pull it off for sale and instructed the agent to remove it from advertising, which they advised in writing they deleted all info regarding the listing, yet our property detail on Righmove still remains. This can not be Legal. We wrote to Rightmove yet their response has been 'oh please send us a link to the ad', as if they don't know whats going on! This matter is now a Legal Matter. This is clearly a breach of privacy rights and I will take it to the top. Unfortunatley for Rightmove they have picked on the wrong chick. I demand my rights to privacy with no explanation required. BE VERY AWARE, RIGHTMOVE WILL USE YOUR INFORMATION, PHOTOS, PROPERTY DATA for their own benefit, regardless of the law.

Got an issue, raise it

Had an issue with a listing but after emailing & raising a complaint Katy was an absolute star, she took note of what I was saying, understood my concerns ..we worked together to find a suitable outcome that I was happy with.
All in all Katy was responsible for my smiling

Look for alternative search engines for renting

If anyone is looking to rent a property especially in the South Manchester/ Stockport Sk area
I urge you please look at other agencies rather than Rightmove
Every property I have looked then contacted the letting agent through Rightmoves link ,the agent informed me its gone, The property can still be showing up to a week later on Rightmoves website
One agent tells me its out of their control ,Rightmove removes them when they chose to, its a poorly run organisation,

Sold price data is wrong

Sold price data is wrong. A property I sold 11 months ago which did have correct sq m always historically was changed at point of sale, for unknown reasons as EPC was correct and all previous data. No alterations. They have increased the sq m squewing the local index house prices. Rightmove refuse to change it even with repeated emails. I also checked the house next door & that's also been increased. Not sure where there 'trusted data' is coming from, but they should not trust it....and neither should buyers, sellers, estate agents or anyone looking for price comparisons of houses in the UK!!
Update - I've already had numerous rails with talktous and they have refuse to correct the data & just say that it comes from a 'trusted source' which makes zero sense as it was always correct until recently.
