Cheap and disgusting customer service

Cheap, low-quality material that snags easily, then they turn around and blame you for “damage” to avoid a proper return. I tried it on once and sent it back immediately—any issue was clearly there when shipped. Still hit with a 20% restocking fee. After reading reviews, this seems intentional. Lost me and over $1,000 in potential group orders. Avoid at all costs!!! There response below is BS too. RUN. I wish I read all these reviews before this is clearly a relflection of how the company treats their customers. So sad I used to love riot swim before they started being greedy. Make sure you apparently photograph the suit and send them an email of what it looks like or maybe a video opening it up before trying it on. Throwing away my other suits I planned to wear to Hawaii and for sure not giving this company any free advertisement by wearing them.

Riot swim quality is horrible

Care instructions are provided with each piece, including hand washing in cold water with mild soap, drying in the shade, and avoiding chlorine, oils, and rough surfaces, as these can cause pilling or fading over time.

We carefully review all concerns brought to us and respond in accordance with our policies. In this case, because the suit had been worn and washed, it fell outside of our return and replacement guidelines. We understand how frustrating that can feel, especially when expectations aren’t met.

Great experience

I’ve been eyeing Riot’s suits for close to a year and thought I’d try them out through their year end sale going in right now. I placed my order and got the shipping confirmation within 24 hours, and received my suit with three days. The suit fit perfectly, I got an XL and it was very true to size, very soft and high quality. I immediately placed an order for their colt one piece and have already gotten the shipping notification for that. Definitely will be purchasing from them again!

Return Scam

Unfortunately I experienced the same return scam as other users has mentioned here. I received the items and immediately could tell the amount of booty coverage would not work for me without every trying them on. I initiated the return same day which requires the company APPROVES your return to get accepted and a label generated and then waited 24 hours with no response (note: they have a 7 day return policy window). I then initiated another request when then I finally got a response with approval over 48 hours later.

I sent in my return which was received and got an email saying it can take up 8 business days to receive your return. After 10 business days with no refund or further information, I emailed them asking for my refund to be processed. THEN the company emailed me back saying there was a "hygienic issue" with the bottoms (mind you, these were never tried on) and they couldn't accept my return. So then they tried to get me to keep the top too ("to match the bottoms"), but they said if I didn't want to, they would send me back the bottoms and give me store credit for the top (even though I did meet their impossible 7 day window for a full refund).

I've been going back and forth with the company now, trying to explain that it's impossible for there to be a hygienic issue from me because they were never put on my body. They also sent pictures which very much appear to be sticky residue from the liner, but they claim that "their liners don't leave residue" and that the liner was intact and attached, however, in the pictures they sent I can very CLEARLY see half of the liner is pulled up and not intact with the swim suit.

Super sketchy behavior overall and really poor customer service. They will do everything in their power to keep your money. I have initiated a dispute with my credit card company.

After receiving your return, our team conducted a detailed inspection and found clear hygienic staining on the bottoms. While we understand you say the item was not worn, the condition in which it was returned indicates it was tried on and stained in the process. The hygiene liner was fully intact and had not been tampered with, confirming the stain did not come from the liner itself. We do not ship items in this condition, and we expect all returns to come back in the same pristine condition they were sent.

Because of the intimate nature of our products, we have a very strict return policy. Any item showing signs of wear or staining—even if it occurs during try-on—is ineligible for return. This policy is in place to maintain product integrity and prioritize the safety and comfort of all our customers.

To clarify a few points:

Return requests must be submitted within 7 days of delivery. Once submitted, they’re manually reviewed and approved within 48 business hours (excluding weekends and holidays).
Once received, returns are processed within 7 business days, again excluding weekends and holidays.
Whether a return is eligible for refund or store credit depends on the item’s condition and the timeframe in which the request was submitted.
We also want to note that while you mentioned initiating a chargeback, we will be submitting all documentation and photos to your bank, which clearly support our decision.

We understand this isn’t the resolution you were hoping for, and it’s never our intention to make anyone feel dismissed. That said, we stand by our policy and process and cannot make exceptions in cases like this.

Sale Items: As with many brands, all items purchased during a sale or promotional period are considered final sale—this is noted on the product page, at checkout, and in our return policy. Final sale items are not eligible for return or exchange.
Full-Priced Items: For items purchased at full price, we offer a 7-day return window for a refund and 8–14 days for store credit, provided the item is unworn, undamaged, and in original condition.
Exceptions: If a return is requested outside of our standard window, we may still offer an exception, but a 20% restocking fee will apply. This is also clearly stated in our return policy.
Partial Refunds: We never “steal” money from our customers. If you received a reduced amount, it’s likely because a restocking fee applied due to a return made outside of the eligible timeframe or under an exception.

Wish I found this page before my…

Wish I found this page before my purchase. I had been eyeing these swimsuits for years and after finally loosing over 60lbs for my wedding I decided to splurge on a bikini from here for my honeymoon. Because of the price, I waited till my last fitting for my dress and used those measurements to buy the swimsuit from RIOT. I tried it on within 20 minutes of it being delivered and trust me when I say this swimsuit size was way off and way small, and I’m a 36B!!! I emailed them immediately knowing the replacement wouldn’t arrive in time for my honeymoon and asked them if I could somehow get expedited shipping on the new top or if there was something they could do to help me get the new suite in time. I never heard from anyone. I got an email a few days later with return shipping instructions and two weeks later got an email that I have a credit to their site, making it too late for me to have a placement for my honeymoon and a credit to a site (almost $30 less than what I paid) I don’t want to buy from again but it looks like I was just lucky enough to have my return accepted. BUYER BEWARE bc after reading these reviews, I’m convinced they have two scams going on. The stained items on returned garments seem to be their main one but I was caught by their (intentionally?) faulty sizing chart.

Your order was delivered on April 10th and your return was approved on the next business day after the weekend, April 14th. Our team does not operate over the weekend, which is why there may have been a slight delay in the approval process.

Regarding the store credit, all customers are given the option to select either a refund or store credit at the time of submitting the return. We don’t make that selection on your behalf—so if store credit was processed, it’s because that option was chosen during your return submission.

We also want to assure you that our size chart is accurate and our styles run true to size unless otherwise noted in the product description. That said, we completely understand how sizing can vary between brands, which is why we always recommend referencing our size chart and measuring carefully before purchase.

As for some of the other reviews, many refer to items returned in less-than-perfect condition, and we take these cases seriously to protect all of our customers. SCAM - forced to keep an incorrect item

I contacted customer service within hours of placing an order to correct an order before it shipped. I asked them to cancel the order or have it corrected because I was leaving for a trip and time was of the essence. They responded timely and confirmed the order was corrected and there was no need to cancel the order. After receiving the wrong item I contacted customer service and asked if the correct item was on the way and how I should return the incorrect item. 5 days pass without a response and i leave for my trip. Customer service then responds after almost a week and says the correct item is not coming and i need to return the incorrect item, leaving me no time to return the item as they took 5 of the allowed 7 day return period to respond to my email. This company ate up all of my return window after promising the issue was corrected, now there is nothing i can do to get my money back.

Placed multiple orders for vairous sizes of a swimsuit. First issue, I paid for expedited shipping ; they proceeded to tell me they were moving manufactures and products would be delayed. I receieve them over a month later. I returned the products w/o even opening. A few days later, I get an email, with altered photos, saying that the product had been damaged when i "tried them on" and they would be returning the product to me at full charge. Even after explaining that would be impossible (seeing as the products were returned unopened), there customer service team then insisted I was lying. Once the products arrived back at my house, I took immediate photos showing there was no damage - they then accused me of washing the suits. Don't buy from here until you willing to be scammed out of your money. Put you money towards a company that deserves it.

TERRIBLE QUALITY DO NOT BUY

I had such a terrible experience with RIOT Swim. I decided to splurge for my bachelorette and paid $150+ for a one piece swimsuit from RIOT. The product arrived within a week of ordering, which was great, but as soon as I tried it on I realized how TERRIBLE the quality was. Its an off white one piece that was completely see through. The material was such poor quality, it would not stay on my body. I tried calling their customer service several times, but no one every answered my calls. I finally sent them an email for assistance. They got back to me stating that their products are meant to be "skin like" and the terrible was intentional. I had to threaten filing a charge back with my credit card before they agreed to my refund request. Even then, they charged a restocking fee. After weeks of following up with them, they have finally processed my refund. Save yourself the headache and don't buy from here.

Your return request was initially submitted through our portal under the reason “fit,” but your follow-up email mentioned that the item was “damaged.” Because of the discrepancy, our team reached out to clarify. We always want to ensure any actual damage is addressed thoroughly—not just for you, but for future customers as well. Once we confirmed the suit was not damaged but simply not your preference, we moved forward with a resolution.

While the return fell outside of our normal return window, we still approved a refund as a one-time courtesy. In line with our policy, this included a 20% restocking fee to cover the cost of processing and repackaging.

As for communication, our support line is text-only and not set up to receive phone calls—which is why no one was able to answer. Once we received your email, our team responded promptly and worked with you through every step.

If I could give zero stars then I…

If I could give zero stars then I would. They are scammers. I tried to return the swim suit because the fit was terrible. They said I couldn’t return it because it didn't have the sanitary liner and shows signs of wear. The picture they sent me was clearly the smallest amount of residue from the liner and I returned it WITH THE LINER ON. So they must have taken it off. Absolutely criminal of them. Simply RUDE.

I was actually shocked by these reviews…

I was actually shocked by these reviews because I’ve been using riot swim for years. I have to say I’ve never had a bad experience and have actually had really good customer service experiences as well and came here to give the brand their flowers. I don’t want to discount anyone’s experience at all but I will see I’ve order more than 5 times from bathing suits to workout gear and enjoy the quality and brand.

False advertising. Buyer beware of Beach Riot

They claim to be American made but then I got my leggings and sweater and they were made in China. The website proudly claims to be a California owned Company who does all the manufacturing locally. The items are so overpriced. I did not pay for China made clothes. The biggest appeal for me was it was made in America

Don’t Buy. So sad I have to write this

So sad I have to write this. I have purchased 2 riot swimsuits in the past when they actually first started but recently bought a swim suit and was terribly disappointed. The sizing was way off (something they were not always great at but so I had to return upon trying it on. I processed and sent the return. However I got an email back saying the swimsuit had a stain on it and was used and was accused of it being washed.. that was so odd because all of the tags were on and I only had the suit on for less then a minute because it barely fit. I emailed them back saying that that was impossible and that in no way was there a stain when I returned it nor was it washed.. they ended up sending my order back and didn’t even care to respond to my email. I’ve been a longtime supporter of the brand but no more.. the swimsuits are too pricey to have bad sizing, bad material, and poor customer service and no acknowledgment to customer loyalty for me to continue supporting this brand. I won’t be shopping from them again.

i really wish i would have found this page prior to buying, i bought a suit that was $150 which is more than i’d like to spend but thought why not. and when i received it i tried it on and did not love it so immediately put it back in the package and returned it as soon as i received the label (why don’t they just send a label immediately instead they “review the return” then send a label days later which was so weird) but randomly get the suit sent back and was beyond confused!!! turns out there’s stain!? HOW?! the suit was out of the package for no more that a few minutes there’s no way! i saw what the return policy was and made sure that i was clean and timely!! now i’m seeing all these reviews and it seems to be a pattern from them im pissed i’m out $150, with a suit i won’t wear!

Disorganized, long shipping period, somewhat false advertising

For pricing swimsuits around $100-$150 you would expect higher quality, but the material is okay, average at best. You are definitely paying for the name of the brand instead of the quality. I typically spend over $100 on suits anyway and they are definitely better quality than this. The swimsuit I ordered is also not exactly as advertised on the website. It had knots on the sides which I had to manually untie (pain in the butt by the way, they were TIGHT), and move it to the center to make it look like the picture. My suit also took a long time to ship and it wasn’t until I sent the company an email about this issue that it finally shipped that same day. Which I’m glad it was shipped, but there was no follow up email. Instead, the day it was delivered the company decided to reach out to me and apologize. I really do love how it looks on me, and I’m glad I have it as part of my swim collection, I would just personally never buy from the company again.

Both swimsuits I ordered were not comfortable, low quality and over priced. Can’t return because of sale. Wouldn’t recommend or order from here again.
