Their online and website service is totally CRAP.

Actually I loved their exchange policy, though I never get the benefit. Recently I placed an online order on their website. But next day, it was cancelled. So I called their CS and I was able to get through after 30 minutes holding. I placed an order for a different color over the phone, but after several days with no communication, I called to check when it would be shipped. They told me they still didn’t know and that it was on its way. They said they’d let me know once the tracking number is available. At that point, I thought it would be better to go to the store and buy it, so I asked to cancel the order, but they said they can't cancel it. They told me I would have to receive the order and return it. How an order cannot be cancelled even before it is not yet shipped out? It's completely ridiculous. Their website and online service is a crap.

Up sale up sale up sale!!

Up sale up sale up sale! Push push push! Geesh so much for walking in and picking a shoe. They make you run on a treadmill then stand on a machine to look at your arch. Then they try and push arch supports then socks then a VIP membership for $50 a year to save $15 on 1 pair of shoes and then don't forget they want you to buy their apparel. No thanks my husband and I left. The Running Store is so much better.

Roadrunner Sports - Stay Away New rules for “Roadrunner “

New rules for “Roadrunner “
on Route 4 . You can no longer , under any circumstances walk into the store , select a pair of sneakers, and buy them! The new manager, Lawrence , insists that you go through the 15 minute Fit Finder experience, EVEN IF YOU KNOW exactly what you want . After going back and forth with him on this for a few minutes, I knew that I wanted to leave ! Save yourself the trouble and Stay away !

Excellent company

I have been a member of Road Runner for over 20 years. There are countless reasons I like purchasing from them. To name a few, points towards future purchases, variety, swiftness of receiving, discounts. I have learned from asking so much about what type of shoes is best for me. We buy Brooks usually not always. Have purchased from Brooks as well but they don’t reward their customers for buying direct from them. Ease of purchasing as well!

Really liked my experience

Really liked my experience. It’s worth it if you purchase more than 3 pair of shoes a year to pay the $49.99 annual VIP membership. You automatically get 10% off $15-20 per shoe and you also get reward dollars after each purchase. I did the free trial VIP for 6 months (note to customers- you must cancel the free trial a couple of weeks before the 6 months is up). I actually cancelled it for non renewal after my first two purchases thinking I wouldn’t want anymore but the benefits continue until the 6 months is up. I ended up purchasing another two pair before my trial membership was up for a total of 4 pair and about $25-$30 in savings for each pair. The only downside is the return shipping fee is $9.95. It makes it tough to try out your perfect pair unless you go to a running store ahead of time. I think they should reduce the return fee it to $5 if you have the VIP membership.

A year later, a new $49,99 charge

I bought a pair of running shoes about 11-1/2 months ago and today I saw a new $49.99 charge for a "Road Runner VIP Club" So I called them and their automated system stated they would call me back. It/they called back but hung up on me when I picked up the phone and before I could say a word.

I was a loyal member of road runner…

I was a loyal member of road runner sports for years. I joined the membership for 60.00 a year and bought all my sneakers through them. This year I was charged 100 dollars and didn't understand why so I called them. They said that I had upgraded my membership the last time I had made a purchase. I know that wasn't true so I cancelled the membership all together. I had had 15.00 towards a new pair of sneakers which the customer service person said I could use until Sept 21. First I went to the store to get a new pair of sneakers and they wouldn't let me use the money. Then I tried online and the customer service representative told me I forfeited the money when I canceled the membership. So I received two different answers from 2 different customer service reps. I will never buy another pair of sneakers from Road Runner Sports!

Their membership is a scam

Their membership is a scam! They make it very difficult to contact them to cancel, and even once they tell you it's canceled, they will still keep billing you. I've had to get my bank involved twice.

Membership renewal fraud

This company created fake accounts to charge membership renewal fees without our consent. This has happened to multiple family members using multiple credit cards over the past couple of years. They are rated one star on Better Business Bureau website. Look on BBB for nearly 100 reviews regarding this same fraud issue. I have filed a complaint with the federal trade commission. See screen caps…

I would have given a 5 stars

I would have given a 5 stars. But I told to contact them on the day of pickup and that I have to pay $140 more (the original quote was $675) than the quoted price. I was about to cancel but they were able to find someone to pick up the car two days later for the original price. It could be because I picked the following date to pick up the car that's the reason for the price difference but anyways. Everything else went smoothly after that. The driver contacted me the day before pick up, came as promised, picked up the car and delivered to the destination.

Awful order fulfillment and shipping

Awful order fulfillment and shipping. shoes are either not in stock or when they are, I've experienced 3-4 week delivery times. Received notice it is shipped and on its way only to have delivery date come and go to find out it actually never shipped. Done using RRS; will use local running store. Price difference ends up being negligible and there is less frustration.

Unauthorized VIP membership charge

Never had any issues ordering and having shoes delivered. It's when I canceled my VIP membership that there was a problem. I received an email stating that the membership would be renewed "as you requested" on the date given in the amount of 49.99. I had already canceled the membership since I don't run much anymore and don't buy shoes as often. So I logged in again to make sure and followed up by calling customer service. The agent assured me that the membership was canceled; she put me at ease. Then, not a week later, I received a notification on my phone that I was hit with a 49.99 charge! This charge blindsided at me at a bad time. I called RRS again and spoke to a young man who told me the previous agent had forgotten to remove the check mark to auto renew. I now have to wait 7-10 business days for my refund! Disappointing experience.

The local Brand outlet store closed

The local outlet store In my area has closed. I returned to buying my running shoes online. Prices were competitive with the outlet buy 2 pair and the second was 50% off deal. The selection was better than the local outlet store.

DO NOT JOIN VIP PROGRAM

DO NOT JOIN VIP PROGRAM - IT IS A SCAM! My in-store experience at the San Diego store was very pleasant and everyone was very helpful. When I was paying for my shoes I was told that I wouldn't be able to return them unless I joined the VIP program for an additional fee. So I joined as I was also told I could cancel at anytime for a full refund. Initially I was told that I actually have to speak with a customer representative since my request involves my credit card. Now that I am trying to cancel my membership I can't get anyone on the phone - I sit on hold for over an hour at a time and when I leave my phone number for a call back, there is no returned call. I would go back into the store to try on shoes, but I will NEVER purchase anything from RoadRunner Sports again. Clearly this family owned business doesn't care about their customers.

Claim unworsen shoes returned had been worn

I recently purchased a pair of sneakers from RRS online. I literally tried one shoe on while sitting down and it was too stiff for my liking. I returned within 30 days and they issued credit. When I called and asked why a refund was not issued, they claimed that had unusual wear, TOTAL 100% LIE!!! They were sent back in brand new, unworn condition The rep said they would take pics and send to Customer Service Rep. I requested to also see the pics, She said she was unsure if she could send them to me. Don't trust this company. They are dishonest!!! If you do deal with them, take a picture of shoes before u send anything back to them. I will no longer deal with this company. Not sure what happen this company used to be ok but must be hurting for money to do something so dishonest. By the way I'm a VIP member so even if they were worn (which they were NOT) I should have 90 days, So basically they are claiming a pair of 100% unworn, only tried on shoe is so worn they cannot resell. Pure scammers. Will be disputing with my credit card company. Don't deal with these lying clowns!!!

I would rate a zero

I would rate a zero, but that doesn’t seem to be an option. Customer service is terrible. You have to spend a ridiculous amount of money to be an VIP member to be able to simply exchange an item for a different size. When you call the toll free number to exchange if you’re not a VIP member, it’s simply a sales pitch to become a VIP member. Sports apparel fit varies widely across brands and cut. To have to pay $10 in shipping both ways - to receive and return - is outrageous. The CSR even argued that with me. It’s only $9.99 to receive and $9.89 to return. Okay - got me there - $19.88, not $20.
