Poor customer service

Ordered a wardrobe and set of drawers in white on the 6th January. Paid in full on the 14th February prior to delivery. They delivered pale grey . Most of the staff are ok but when I went into the shop the day after I got the abrasive staff member. At first i was questioned about the colour I ordered but my receipt said white. Then I had to wait while she retrieved the invoice from the supplier. Not sure why I had to wait as that was not my problem. The supplier had delivered pale grey but apparently nobody checked before it was delivered to me. When she couldn’t prove i was wrong all I got was everybody makes mistakes. When I asked if it would be here in March she said no it wouldn’t.
And indeed it wasn’t, I waited the rest of February, all of March and all of April. No phone call updating me or telling me when it would be delivered.
On the 1st May I went in to ask for my £1800.00 back and for them to remove the furniture they had wrongly delivered. And coincidentally my white furniture had just arrived. It was finally delivered 8th May. Won’t be shopping at Rooms again

Gotham chair…

Just taken receipt of a Gotham chair and it's stunning. It's not the first item we have bought from Rooms in Whitby. It's a lovely store selling quality, unusual items. We were kept up to date with our order, delivery times and found staff to be very helpful. Delivery drivers were cheerful and professional, despite our drive being as steep as Hellvelyn, sorry guys 🤣 but thankyou

Great selection of unique furniture

One of the last quality stores that is left in Keighley town centre, helpful staff and a large selection of furniture. Particular like the stuff in the Indian and more industrial themed areas.

My husband and I bought a canvas print…

My husband and I bought a canvas print from here (Skipton) on the 18th May 2024. The assistant was very keen to take our money but unfortunately we couldn't get the item in our car. We asked if they could deliver or post it at our expense as we live in Sheffield. We were told they do not usually post items and maybe could deliver. We said there was no rush for delivery as we were going on holiday and would be back on 4th June. I was assured I would be sent a txt regarding delivery whilst away. Thus did not happen. I called the shop on Wednesday 5th June and an assiatant took my details and promised a call back but no call ever came. I again called on Thurs 6th June. A lady promised to call me back which she did. She rudely said that they will not deliver just a picture to Shefield. I asked what if I'd bought a settee? She replied well that would be considerably more that a £220 picture. WOW!!!! HOW RUDE. ?? She then said we will refund. I am very upset as the picture I chose was perfect for my home and I had been looking for this for months. The customer service in this particular store is absolutely disgraceful. So be warned if you are not spending thousands of pounds thus store will not offer any customer service whatsoever. I asked for the name of the manager and eventually got it much to the sales persons annoyance.

PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS FROM DIFFERENT SITES BEFORE YOU BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I ordered a manual recliner chair from Rooms Furniture Keighley.
I wanted a manual recliner chair with dual controls, looked at and sat in several chairs, specifically stated I needed dual controls because of my painful neck and back problems,
Joanne the sales lady several times tried to persuade me and guide me towards the electric recliners, I said I have got an electric Sherborne recliner it’s 20 years old and this time I want a manual one, one where It doesn’t have to be plugged into the socket all the time, meantime she is telling me about the nasty customers who come in, life, the universe, Covid, just about everything and I did feel she wasn’t listening to my needs she talked too much about everything else.
Chose a chair, specifically reiterated dual controls
The chair arrived
The side of the chair has got a very sharp industrial staple sticking out, I have cut myself quite badly on it and bled a lot, this was a shock and a really upsetting experience and I would not have expected the quality or the workmanship of this chair to be poor considering how much it cost.
Also, very importantly, this is not the chair I wanted, needed nor asked for, I said I wanted a manual one with dual controls, I explained I have got serious very painful back and neck problems and the chair needs to be easy for me to relax in and get in and out of, the lady assured me the chair would be like that one there with dual controls, the chair in the showroom wasn’t a Sherborne as they didn’t have a small Sherborne but you could order it and it would be up to 16 weeks.
The chair delivered to me has not got dual controls, to get it to recline requires for the back of the chair to be pushed back with quite a lot of force with the persons back it’s a cantelever strong spring and it is painful to do it, while in the reclined position the back of the chair constantly is putting a lot of pressure on my spine and neck as I have to keep the force of the pressure on the back of the chair as it is constantly pushing me forward making it impossible for me to be able to relax in .
16th Sept. Two telephone calls to the shop with assurances Andrew would ring me back, he never did.
I emailed them twice on different days saying I was rejecting the chair and I would like my money back also got completely ignored.
I phoned again today 30th Sept, I was very polite and asked if we could please sort this problem out, Andrew was not interested plus he said he knew nothing about it, he was angry, very abrupt and rude.
He got Joanne the sales lady to ring me back, she was insistent I got what I ordered, I knew I hadn’t , she said she would have a word with Andrew and ask if they could come and pick the chair up, phoned me back said Andrew said no and he wasn’t prepared to do anything about it.
Andrew at Rooms furniture has left me no option now other than going down the legal route to reclaim my money.
EDIT
January 2023. I did get my money back I got it back via my bank. My Son telephoned Roomsfurniture to ask if they wanted the chair back, they then came to collect it and I insisted they bring a receipt as proof of collection, the receipt was headed “Fosters furniture, 2 Brick Street, Keighley”, as the owners last name is Foster then it looks like they have opened up another shop. Wonder why they have not called it Roomsfurniture ??

Appalling staff and no respect for Covid rules

My wife and I visited Rooms Whitby early this morning to look for furniture to fully furnish a new holiday let with the intention of supporting local businesses during what are very difficult times.
I waited outside with my dog whilst my wife went in to look around (the shop says no dogs understandably). Whilst waiting outside the shop window two people approached with vigour and ask they maintain 2 Meters. "2 meters please guys' I asked" .
I was greeted by a rude, "going in here you idiot!; I work here"
The lady went into store and the other person Barked idiot at me as he left !
I find this complete disrespect for others during these COVID times deplorable. This disregard for COVID rules is the reason why COVID numbers are so high currently. If this is the attitude of staff in this store then I will take my custom elsewhere. My apologies to the owner of the store I am sure that all business is needed currently, but with people working at this store having complete disregard for others re- COVID I would not wish to shop here

Poor service, rude owner

POST ABOUT ROOMS IN KEIGHLEY Please share!!!!
I ordered a bedroom set from rooms costing nearly £600. On 1st July the furniture was delivered but some of the parts was damaged. I sent pictures to rooms as requested, called a few days later to see what they could do and was told the replacement parts would be ordered. Within a week the varnish on the bedside table started coming off. I called rooms again and was told a replacement was ordered. On 2nd September I called and was told the parts have arrived and could deliver Monday. I requested 1st call as I had a rare day off to take my daughter out which was agreed. I called at 10am this morning and spoke to a very abrupt man called Andrew. I asked if he knew what time they would be here but was told it would be this morning. I asked again if he knew what time as it was agreed for 1st call and was not really happy giving the back ground to be told you will not get your replacement today, we are collecting the furniture today, your getting your money back and I'll never be happy with the new one.
WOW!!! If that's how the owner, Andrew speaks to his customers then I'll take my business elsewhere. I again tried to explain the situation but he rudely interrupted and said your getting your money back and the call ended with no clue how to get my money back. I called back once he calmed down and discussed the refund process. No receipt was given on the delivery either! Think Andrew needs to take some tips off his staff who I must say was most helpful and kind and a credit to rooms! Thanks for ruining my day out with my daughter! I will no longer take her out for her birthday treat with mum and dad, instead I will be hunting for new furniture!
