An RHS-award-winning, summer-fruiting (floricane) variety famed for its deep red, rich-tasting raspberries. Plus, it has spineless canes! Originally bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute, 'Glen Ample' is one of the most popular raspberries to grow. Highly-rated thanks to its reliability; expect to see large yields, over 2kg per plant, with the fruit holding very well on the bush. Plant on a sunny spot in rows, with 50cm between canes and tie into supports as they grow. Expect to harvest from late June all the way into September! Floricane varieties fruit on last year's wood, so it's important to get the pruning right. Cut back the canes that fruited at the end of the summer, leaving roughly eight that didn't fruit (these will be green stems) to grow next year.

I made a review after receiving these plants on February 12th which I marked down due to the lack of instructions about planting them. I am now giving the product the lowest possible review because having planted the canes 3 months ago, i.e. roughly two weeks after receiving them, I am seeing no signs of new growth, despite being supposedly ready to produce fruit in the summer which is almost upon us. I don't know whether this is because of some weakness in them which led them to fail anyway, or it's due to your failure to provide adequate instruct-ions to which I referred to my earlier review. The only instruction on the box was "Open immediately" which I followed to the letter. There were no other instructions in the box. I since saw advice from Monty Don on Gardeners' World, that the roots should not be allowed to dry out before planting which may well have happened. So if you had provided the instruction to keep them wet, which I would have followed, they might now had been thriving. Either way I request REFUND or REPLACEMENT

After the fantastic Paris raspberry plants I bought last year these canes were a little disappointing with roots very dry and one had very little root on it . It remains to be seen what happens next Summer .

Plants were in excellent condition when they arrived - they are all mulched and settled in. Very happy with the quality, the price is high but the customer service of the company is excellent which makes it extremely worthwhile. If you have any trouble with any of their plants just contact them - they are fantastic! The level of customer service provider by them is very refreshing in the age of AI.

Very healthy looking canes delivered in perfect condition. The only reason i haven't given them five stars (yet ! ) is because they haven't even had time to bud yet, but they're looking good ! I'll post some photos when I have my first crop.
