Where it all started. Rough Trade was founded by Geoff Travis in 1976 as a London record shop and began releasing as an independent label in 1978. In 1982, the retail outlet broke with the A&R and distribution divisions and became an independent entity, as it remains today. Rough Trade NYC opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2013 and relocated to Rockefeller Center, Manhattan in 2021. Rough Trade Nottingham opened in 2014. Rough Trade Bristol opened in 2017. New sealed record has a nasty scratch. Rough Trade replaced it without any hassle whatsoever. Very nice customer service.
My order was packaged securely
My order was packaged securely, it was posted promptly and it arrived safely. I was especially pleased with the record because I was able to use a voucher which gave me free postage. I appreciated this.

Great communication
Great communication, prompt and efficient delivery, sturdy safe packaging, thanks
A blemish Of Normal excellent service
Normally I find that Rough Trade provide an excellent service, however the version Of The Eagles Hotel California album that was sent to me was not the version that advertised on their website. The said it was Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab pressing in the Deluxe Edition, they are high end audiophile pressings from the US.Instead I was sent the standard European reissue of the album
When I contacted Customer Services at their Warehouse in Bristol the staff apologised that there had a technical issues with website concerning the album's description.I informed them I already had the version of the album in my collection.I thought simple call to would be suffice to a returns Label sent to by email so that I could return the album for a refund .I was informed that I would have to go through their website and apply for a refund and would have supply a photo of it.When I tried to do it my application failed so I contacted Customer Service and Lydia was very helpful and just said that a email with a attached photo would be suffice. In fairness after I sent it back the return label and package slip was sent to me in email in speedy manner.Overall I found Rough Trade to be excellent in terms price and excellent customer service both mail order and my visits to their record shops in London.
Excellent!!
Navigating the website was very easy and the ordering/payment process just the same. Purchase arrived very well packaged and in great condition. Very pleased with everything, would highly recommend Rough Trade to everyone
Impressive Customer Service Response
I recently opened up a record from a previous Rough Trade order and discovered the record had a large crack in it. I sent an email to customer service, got a prompt response with instructions for requesting a replacement, and had a replacement arrive in less than a week. Very impressed with the response.

A legend
Rough Trade is a legend with good reason. They have a great track record! (Pun intended). Communication is spot on and timely. Only thing I would improve is they sometimes have a delay in posting.

A great experience from overseas in Australia
The online service works really well, and it's worth noting that it's not just good for people in the UK - I live in Austalia and get a fantastic service with mot delieries arriving within 1-2 weeks from despatch. The packaging has always been quite good, but it has definitely improved from a few years ago and I never seem to get any damage in transit these days. The pricing is decent too. I often find that it's no more expensive that my local Australian store even allowing for postage. And of course, there are a lot of exclusives that aren't available loally in Australia.
Excited for my Present!
I finally got my Vinyl and its gorgeous! Packed so nicely and I cant wait to listen to it!
