Only little of the Paid Subscription was useful to me. Your mileage may vary.
TLDR: Not a bad company, run by a small team. They offer a free account that offers much of what you need. Their paid subscription provides very little in addition to the free service. Owner seems to only want people to know about 5-star experiences; needs more of a Santa from Miracle on 34th Street viewpoint.
RPG Chronicles is a small company with a small team that has been around for only a couple of years. I list everything below in order to give context and so people reading this won't have to go to the site and search for the information themselves.
Free Services:
RPG Chronicles provides GMs running Pathfinder Society or Starfinder Society events an online option to create Character Chronicles. GMs create a Session on rpgchronicles.net and then can share a link to that session's Session Sheet where players enter their information. After the session the GM can then download the Character Chronicles and deliver them to the players via each players preferred method.
Paid Subscription Services:
As of this review's posting: At the current price of $5/month or $50/year GMs get the above free services in addition to the following:
1) The ability to have RPG Chronicles email the Character Chronicles directly to players that provide their email address.
2) Access to Subscriber channels in Discord.
3) Access to the Reporting Plugin for copy/paste reporting.
4) Save and autofill Org Play ID and Event information.
5) Learn about new features and give feedback as they're being built.
I only benefited from the 1st option. While I'm on Discord and did view the Subscription Channels, I didn't feel like they were anything special, just another chat channel is all they were to me.
Paid Event Support Services:
These services incur a cost separately from the Paid Subscription services. Pricing is based on the number of sessions that the event has scheduled, not the number actually reported.
1) Admin access to every sign up sheet that uses your event code.
2) An Event Dashboard to view your games handle all of the reporting from one screen.
3) A Player Dashboard to view and sign up for available games.
4) HQ access to the Reporting Plugin for copy/paste reporting.
5) Handle all of the convention reporting with a few clicks.
6) A printable QR code for your event's sign up page.
I'll be using the Event Support for my convention and will update this review once the convention is over and everything is reported.
The main reason I decided to write this review is the fact that the owner was upset that I mentioned free alternatives to someone. Personally I believe making people aware of free alternatives should be something every business has at the forefront of their mind for their possible consumers, while touting what their service can provide in addition to those free alternatives. I have always like the original Miracle on 34th Street and how Santa directed a customer to a different store than the one he was working at since the store he was working at didn't have what the customer was looking to purchase. It is those types of things that make me want to use the services of a business.
My impression from the owner's comment to my suggestion and mention of my own experience was similar to those companies that only display 5-star reviews for their products and services and I replied back stating that fact.
