In 1999 Rupert Sanderson resigned from a twelve-year career in advertising to sign up for a course at the renowned Cordwainers College in East London. It was much more than a decision made on a whim; he was fulfilling a long-held desire to make shoes. Following his studies, he decided to immerse himself in the world of shoemaking and traveled to Italy, where he rode around the country on a motorbike visiting factories, tanneries, and last makers. It was the beginning of an ongoing passion for the country. In 2001 he returned to London and launched his own label. Starting with a collection of just 15 shoes his eponymous brand was founded on the design philosophy ‘less is more’ - a principle which continues to underlie every collection. Focusing on creating the perfect silhouette, he draws inspiration from the sensual curve of the lasts and heels, using the finest leathers and materials, and in an idiosyncratically British twist, each style is named after a daffodil.

Rubbish shoes. Look great - not for the long term though. Broke after two wears. Cheaply made. Never again. Misleading brand.

Customer care responsiveness takes 3-4 days and the quality of response very poor. Tried to get some help with poor quality shoes and literally team were useless. So sad.

I had a terrible online shopping experience with this supposedly a designer brand. I ordered Aga with a size 39. They sent me a size 36, totally different style. This is a full price item, not a cheap pair of shoes, how could they be so careless?! I mailed the wrong shoes back last week with the return label they provided and up till now I have not gotten my refund. I shop online a lot and have never experienced such a terrible service. Even when I order from Taobao they won’t commit such a rookie mistake!

Excellent service from Joanna on behalf of this company. I had the good fortune to receive a pair of these fabulous shoes for Christmas but they didn’t fit. Joanna responded extremely quickly to my email requesting a return and then went on to locate and upload a link for me so that I could choose the shoes I’d originally wanted in a different size. All of this was done over the Christmas break. I’ve now ordered replacement shoes. Returning is easy as couriers collect the item from your address! Couldn’t be more satisfied. An exemplar for so many companies who struggle to provide even basic service. Highly recommended!
