Why are we all bashing ryanair…

Why are we all bashing ryanair when we know what an absolute genius michael o leary is for bringing cheap air travel to all of us?

Quite frankly we should all be worshipping him.

Have I had problems with ryanair?

Absolutely... too many to mention.

But do I care that much....when I have just flown from bham to malaga for 1/3 of the cost of catching a train from bham to London?

No I dont care if they get things wrong from time to time or even if they have designed their systems to penalise us all for the slightest mistake.

Its time be real.

Ryanair are pretty brilliant overall for what you get from them.

If you want brilliant customer service... pay brilliant prices on the main carriers.

Otherwise stop wasting your time complaining... and be grateful.

When you next look for cheap flights you know full well that ryanair are going to be the cheapest !!!

Nightmare

Gosh, where do I begin! My flight from Brussels Charleroi to Manchester was scheduled for 21.10 on Saturday 3 January 2026. Initially there was a half hour delay. It is true that I was informed of the delay by email, but that was about all. The delay itself did not overly bother me , as long as I could catch the last train to Blackpool at 23.17. However, there were further delays allegedly caused by "de-icing" which seemed to take for ever. Finally, approx. two hours after the scheduled time, the journey began. I just missed the last train, but I cannot be accused of lack of foresight because, as I said, I had allowed for nearly two hours to catch the train back to Blackpool. So I was stranded at Manchester airport not knowing what to do. I could not take a taxi to the nearest hotel as I could not be sure there would be a room available - besides, I needed to be back in Blackpool for an important appointment by 10 am, which would have been impossible even if I stayed in Manchester overnight. Finally, I did find a taxi willing to take me to Blackpool, but that cost me all of £200. I feel that Ryanair should have done infinitely more to ensure the welfare of their passengers and not just dumped them there at the dead of night. It just isn't good enough and I doubt whether I shall ever travel by Ryanair again. Oh and I want compensation for the taxi fare to Blackpool as well

Spend the extra and go with EasyJet. Horrendous customer service after losing out babies car seat, leaving us with no way to travel safely home from the airport. They retuned an empty car seat bag and closed the claim.

Delayed flight FR2840 (CGN–STN) due to late-arriving football team.

Parents were already onboard while around 15 children remained at the gate, leading to a prolonged standoff between crew and security. All other passengers who followed boarding rules were delayed as a result.

Cabin became uncomfortably hot during the delay and communication was poor. Promises to “make up time in the air” were unrealistic given the extended ground delay.

I submitted a detailed, factual complaint afterwards and received only a generic template response linking to passenger rights, with no acknowledgment of the situation described.

Very disappointing handling and inconsistent application of rules. It has genuinely put me off using Ryanair again.

Ryanair is just "no care about customers" and "0% responsibility".
Ryanair lost a loyal customer today. I know they don't care. Flight cancelled at short notice. No viable alternative offered. Faced with an urgent international connection the next day, we had no choice but to book another airline immediately. Ryanair’s response? Template emails. Zero context. Zero empathy. Zero responsibility. I was a very frequent Ryanair customer, flying with them weekly for years. That loyalty meant absolutely nothing. They really do not care about customers at all. This isn’t “low cost” — this is no service at all. I will no longer fly with this airline and strongly advise others to think twice if reliability and support matter to you. Thank you, Ryanair, you helped me to take this decision I should have taken a long time ago.

ZERO RATING

ZERO RATING Everyone should be catered for on the flight, except VEGANS it seems. I couldn't get any food or drink on the flight. I could have water, that's it. I'm sure I wasn't the only vegan on the flight. Rubbish.

They are doing their best to make you…

They are doing their best to make you feel miserable, Come early, they advised, so you can wait longer. 3 hours before flight so you can wait an hour so they can let you drop your luggage.
I was not allowed to carry my jacket in my hands, they told me I had to wear it on me, or squeeze it in my carry on!!! What!!!
We knew hours before the Flight that it was delayed 45 minutes, but they advised they starting boarding regardless, so people were waiting in hallway even though everyone new flight was delayed... What!!!
Treating people like herd of sheep with no reason. No human decency... shocking and appalling
But don't forget it is all for your own safety!!!

Disability discrimination.

Disability discrimination.
Not worth 1 star. A couple of months ago London to Barcelona flight, staff totally humiliated me. I arrived to board the flight with my disabillity scooter and before I could even say anything. The male member of staff for handling items like my scooter said we are not getting that on board and the Ryanair girl immediately joined in with him. I was using this flight as Ryanair were the only airline that would connect with my cruise on time. The flight was not cheap, so it was not a case of you get what you pay for. I had previously emailed my scooter dimensions to Ryanair and I had then responded to another email explaining my mini scooter would not fold and it was cleared. I am 2 months into the complaint and on 15.12.25 they emailed to say they were reviewing. Having gone into my account this morning it says its resolved. The chat customer service have been totally useless. Repeatedly the customer service individual stated it was resolved and i received an email. I cut and pasted the sentence to them and they repeatedly told me the same. This individual was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. I asked who the independent complaint authority was and they said I had to resubmit the complaint to them which is not true. I said I wanted their conversation added my complaint and this was not possible. Clearly Ryanair think they are very wise to the complaints system and the barriers they create, with non contact, not being able to save chats that most other companies email transcripts of. Very sparse responses to complaints. Ryanair might consider themselves a you get what you pay for airline but I think 2022/23 1,313.8 million euros is quite healthy. They over book flights and have people on standby so what do they care if a seat ends up empty because they did not let me board. I flew with them to Berlin last Christmas i had 3 seats and the other 2 passengers did not make the return journey so I thought would have a nice sleep but no a woman was sat next to me who previously booked 6 months in advance. Greed and corrupt some them up.

Damaged baggage claim

They completely damaged my baggage. A claim was submitted immediately on arrival and registered with Ref. 69597283/PMU28Y.
After several emails and online chats with customer service, they stopped contacting me.
During chats, they asked hundreds of security questions (flight no, reservation no, email from which tickets were bought, etc), having a very unique case reference. Despite providing actual and accurate data and information, they didn't let me through straight into the case, under the guise of security data didn't match my personal details.
The case remains unsolved after 11 weeks, and they don't respond to my emails.
The conclusion is that they intentionally apply artificial security checks to avoid their responsibility and due payments, and count on the case being forgotten.
Despite such a long wait, I will persist in getting the replacement or reimbursement, especially since this is the second time in 15 months.

What a waste of time

What a waste of time. I've tried booking flights 5 different times using different browsers, incognito, different devices, bank details and everytime it fails with no explanation.

Customer services were completely unhelpful and refused to accept a phone call to take payment. Now I'm left with no flights and no solution.

I honestly don't know if it's Ryanair or Manchester airport but we'll be finding a different provider in future, cheap doesn't always mean bad but in this instance it does. Ryanair really need to improve their flight experience if they want to keep their customers.

We have filed a court case. Ryanair you are a disgrace.

Ryanair managed to lose our bags for 6 days the night before a big family event. 20 weeks later and they are refusing any responsibility or compensation for the clothing and toiletries we had to rush out and buy. I have now filed a court case. Ryanair are a disgrace to the aviation industry.

Should be minus 5 Star

My husband had to have an emergency leg amputation meaning we couldn’t fly out on holiday. Contacted Ryanair to cancel the flights so we could claim through our travel insurance. Apparently you can’t cancel, just have to wait to be a no show. This seems ridiculous to me, how many people are then a no show? Is this because they have usually overbooked their flights, so rely on this practice. We then obviously don’t turn up for either flight, only to be told we have now been charged for not checking in on time for our return flight. We now have to try and get a no show letter for our insurance, link they send doesn’t work. Words from customer service are that we just have to keep trying, they can’t do anything else.
Will never use this company again, no matter how much cheaper they seem to be. Customer service does not exist, once they have your money they do not care.

Booked a 10kg case was told by the check-in desk I could take the case on as carry on giving the size of the case got to the gate then got hit with the £60 bag fee after explaining what check-in said they basically couldn’t care it was pay or miss the flight seems more of a Ryanair scam than anything so watch out for this one I wouldn’t recommend flying with Ryanair

Unfortunately can't give zero stars

Unfortunately can't give zero stars, I booked a city break to Budapest through a 3rd party back in August for 11th November till 14th November, Ryanair then cancelled my return flight in September and it took my 3 weeks to get this sorted as every time I called I was unable to pass security as I did not know the email it was set up on ( it was by the 3rd party ) they were rude and unhelpful and every time they hung up.....I then called and spoke to a lady weeks later after a lot of stress who simply told me the address and changed my flight....my app was not working constantly so unable to check in online and change my wife's madden name to married name so this had to be done at the airport. Git this done at a cost of £145 and was told I would get a full refund as long as I sent both marriage and wife's birth certificate, done this and now been advised that no refund is coming and I can simply log on and make changes....they have not read or understood my email to them, I have returned home so why would I need to log on and change it.....I will never travel with them again....looking at the reviews no wonder they are made up of 1 stars and that is being kind too them

Is safety on board Ryan Airs main priority?

I was charged for a sandwich I did not receive on a recent flight between Tenerife and Liverpool and I am unable to get a refund.
My husband and I also paid for extra leg room seats and other passengers who had not paid for extra leg room moved to the vacant extra leg room seats so they could sit with their friends
Safety concerns also witnessed on the flight: A lady Sat on the floor in an emergency exit isle for a large part of the flight and she was not told to sit on her seat by Stewardess; who clearly saw her as they served her food.
Three Stewardesses had very long hair which was not tied back during the flight even whilst serving food and drink.
The captain of the plane open the fight deck door, leaned on it and chatted to stewardess for at least 3 mins.
Safety did not appear to be the main priority on the flight

Ryanair making life difficult for their…

Ryanair making life difficult for their passengers again! If I could give zero stars for this booking experience I would
Not accepting paper boarding cards is a nuisance, and might prove to be a total disaster if internet failures.
I just booked a flight with Ryanair and looked at the booking. The first problem was that on the confirmation I couldn't at first find the PNR number printed next to the flight details, but eventually found it buried amongst the coloured heading.
Having got the PNR number, all looked fine for eventually checking in.
HOWEVER, when I came to check on the "manage my booking" section on the Ryanair main website I found that it appears to be impossible to download boarding cards without being logged on to the Ryanair App on your smartphone.
I'm very unhappy about this, as I don't want my phone "cluttered" with multiple apps (which Ryanair presumably want there to try to highlight their airline in front of others) Sadly, anyway, when I tried to load the app, it wouldn't load without fingerprint verification, so I'll have to make a 2-way 15 mile trip to the Apple store in town near me.
My co-passenger on the same booking succeeded in downloading the Ryanair app, but couldn't load even their boarding card info as I was the main booker.
Normally, with all other airlines, I can find my boarding card simply using my surname and PNR number and can get both digital photo boarding cards on my tablet and phone, AND, for additional security, print off a hard-copy boarding card in case phone or tablet photos are proving difficult to display.
Technology can be very useful, but forcing customers to require more complex processes is NOT to me a good marketing policy, particularly for pensioners like me. My flight booking is proving to be a major hassle, so I'll now tend to book with other airlines where I can. Maybe Ryanair think no pensioners book their flights?
IF THIS HAD BEEN A LAST MINUTE BOOKING I'D HAVE BEEN TOTALLY FIXED!

Very bad…felt sick

On 22nd october 21.20 i have flown flown with ryanair cagliari to stanstead
Flight was delayed as of a changed of plane and paper work that lasted an hour between awaiting boarding and kept waiting on the plane with a blasting aircon freezing to death.
The worse experience of any flight i took in the past.
I have managed to complain twice about the cabin cold pressure tempersture but the response from the captain was the termostat wasn t properly working.
Appalling not even an apology we had elderly and babies on board.

4 hr delay. No compensation. Terrible treatment

Four hour delay. Missed connections. No information in Barcelona airport. That was August and now it is November. I have been fighting for compensation since August. They’re either “unable to find my claim” or make me start over again. The inclement weather excuse is being used to not pay compensation, even though, at the airport, they said it was a technical issue in Majorca.
