the worst online seller

Ordered on the 9th December and paid for on the same day, this was a Christmas present for a family member. After hearing nothing I telephoned on the 15th to check on the status of my order, it was worse than speaking to my 8 year old grandson. I was told it "should be dispatched in the next few days", no apology was given. I realised that evening that this gift probably wouldn't be received in time for xmas. I sent a message the next day asking for a delivery date and how was it possible that the money had been taken from my bank even though they were aware that this watch wasn't in stock. Their reply was " thank you for your message please let me know if we can help you further" !!!!!!!!

On the evening of the 16th I requested a full refund, knowing that I have to find a replacement in time for xmas delivery.

If I hadn't telephoned I dont think I would have heard anything from this unprofessional seller. I see they are still offering the same watch with a dilivery time of 2 - 6 days. As I'm an old age pensioner this was a really bad experience and I hope other people may read this review before contacting sailgb or any of the other names they may use. I intend to report this to the standards office to see if any mis-conduct has occured as quite clearly they were happy to take my money and not notify me that this item wasn't available.

An utterly abysmal experience

I'm writing this as the receiver of an Christmas gift that was ordered for me by a friend - I was briefed as to how the order was (or rather wasn't) progressing every step of the way, so feel qualified to write this review.

First off, the website has been designed to make it look like items are in stock when they're not. 'Delivery within 1-2 working days' is written just above the button to add the item to the basket, regardless of whether it is available. Accordingly, when the order was placed an email was received informing that the item was out of stock. Delivery was quoted as being 10-14 days away. Fair enough, although payment had already been taken. Christmas was fast approaching and emails weren't being answered. Alarm bells started ringing. It was clear that I wasn't going to get my present in time.

Then, after Christmas, an email arrived, informing my friend that the plug adaptors had arrived and been despatched. Trouble was, this wasn't what we'd orderd! Next day, adaptors arrive. Emails fired off, no reply. Calls made, told to send back by registered post (at our expense). It was our responsibility to make sure the goods arrived safely, apparently, even though SailGB were entirely responsible for this cock up. Days passed and eventually the credit card was refunded (well over a month after the order was placed). But we're now back at square one.

If this hasn't put you off ordering from SailGB, I don't know what will. You simply HAVE to call them before ordering online (defeats the purpose of the internet, doesn't it?) to check that the item is in stock. But the staff are obviously so incompetent that I wouldn't trust them.

The website motto is: 'extreme products, fanatical service'. Fanatical about bad service, perhaps. They say that all the information consumers need is 'in the small print' on their website, but who in all seriousness reads through pages and pages of that before placing an order?

Simply avoid at all costs, and be aware that Outdoorgb.com, Extremegb.com and Watchesgb.c

Sell items not in store without noticing you - but still charge you the money

It said on their website that the goods I orderet were in stock. However, when I heard nothing from them for 7 business days, and they already had withdrawn the money from my acount, I decided to take contact to them. I was told that the order had just recently been dispatched, but even though I notified them about the money transfer from my acount there were no explanation on that matter. Now I just hope to recieve the item within the 4-5 promised business days.

Selling items online they do not have instock for 2 months, but still take your money!!!!

Back in 17th Febuary 09 I was sufing the web for a new watch and spotted a Suunto core all black military watch on SAILGB.COM for 185 GBP (ext VAT) so I placed and order. On the same day I received and email informing me thank you for your order but they will not have any in stock for 4weeks. OK I can wait for 4weeks. Then on the 16th March 09 I receive another email informing me there will be another 5weeks delay in addition. Now that is 9weeks from me placing the order. I also discovered SAILGB had taken payment back in Feb for the watch so thay had my 185 GBP. I asked them to return my money until they had received the goods they were selling to me. They did this OK and all went back to normal waiting for the delivery of the watches. When the time was getting near I checked the web site again and found that the watch had gone up in price to 235 GBP. I was alittle concerned so I contacted SAILGB 30th March to see if I would be required to pay the increased price? I was informed no I would pay 185 GBP and the watches where expected any day and I would be advised as soon as my order was shipped. Great!!!!
14th April still no word on my order, so sent an email asking when? No response from SAILGB so I call today 17th April to chase and was informed my order was not on back order and had been callcelled and therefore I would not be receiving my watch at the price back in Feb when I placed my order and I would have to re-order and wait for the next delivery of watches. I've been waiting 2 months now and the watch was a birthday present for a friend :-(
