I wish I could take back the day I came here.

I wish I could take back the day I walked into this place. Being employed here you need to have an understanding of haircare, the products and at least 2 working brain cells. I explained what I was looking for and she suggested a product. She said it was popular and was sold regularly. I read over every bit of information to make sure this would work for me and it seemed fine. I took it home, use it exactly the way it advised. I checked it every 5 minutes as suggested, the third time I checked, I stood there in disbelief. I immediately became hysterical. My beautiful, long, platinum blonde hair, that I take immaculate care of, with only the best products was now at least 6 to 7 different horrific colors. The product I purchased was something fun for Halloween that was non-permanent, and supposed to be the palest, baby pink, had turned my hair the darkest navy blue, clownish bright red, multiple disgusting green shades, neon yellow, a bizarre lavender, rusty orange...it was a night mare. I know hair, I've been educated in hair and color processes, whatever this was I had bought, from the suggestion of a "professional", there just isn't any words for. I worked fast to get this crap off of my hair, but it was too late and my hair was completely destroyed. I called the store, spoke with an older lady named Diane that would not let me get a word in to save my life. She was frantic and ended up giving me the corporate number and the number of the company that made this garbage. I phoned them, emailed them, sent pictures. The next day, their spokesperson called, they are trying to figure out how to compensate me, I
hope. I do have legal representation to assist me with this issue, though hope it doesn't come to that. I'm suppose to hear back from her by Monday. For me, having beautiful hair helps with many things, not to mention self-esteem, how you carry and express yourself. Your personality, attitude and behavior are affected by how comfortable you feel with your looks. At least for me. I interact with many people daily, I work with kids, I work with parents, have appts. constantly. My children have only known me with blonde hair. My family, neighbors, employees, coworkers, friends. I'm supposed to say that suddenly I decided to cut and dye my hair a dark color that even though others say it looks great, I despise it because it's not me, I suddenly out of the blue I lost my mind and decided to go in this direction that does not suit who I am as a person? Doesn't fit my aesthetic? My personality? My kids are completely confused. Everyone I know can see how this has affected me. I can't truly smile and be happy because I'm not. It's not just hair. Yes, it will grow back, no I'm not going to die. So what? I can't be upset at these changes I didn't want? I didn't need this in my life right now. I just found out my husband could have colon cancer and I'm scared to death, I didn't need this now. I don't want the stress of this to bring me further down and though I try not to let it show, he sees how it's destroyed how I feel about myself then I feel doubly horrible because I don't need him wasting his energy worrying about me. To some people this wouldn't be a big deal and they may not understand the level of how wretched this is for me. That's okay. This isn't about them. It's about me and how I feel, and I feel pretty terrible. I'm expressing my feelings here in hopes that others can read what I've experienced and decide if going to this place and purchasing trash a so-called-proffessional decides is best for you is something you want to do. I feel so stupid for making this decision. I should have gone to my salon, but of course I'm thinking a well known beauty supply store is supposed to have quality products. Sally's is a joke full of expired, damaged, poorly made, spoiled items that will destroy, harm, and make the buyers suffer in ways that can't be repaired or made better in any way. All Sally's can do is refund the ten dollars this crap cost. Diane stood there breathlessly annoyed on the phone while I told her that I've been literally maimed. Oddly, she felt the need to let me know about her 30 plus years in the beauty industry, as if this fact alone will minimize the damage I've endured. The staff needs to be replaced because they've clearly given up. The store should cut its losses and close as it's long overdue. Why keep a location open that will only bring the brand bad reviews and can't keep quality, new merchandise that's not old and tainted? If this were my location and I actually cared about my customers, and word of mouth, I'd be horrified if this happened to a client and I'd certainly do a little more than refund ten bucks.

Amazing Service

A massive thank you to Carole at Sally's in Plymouth. Had a hair emergency today and a very stressed teenager - unable to get to the store. Carol gave me her personal number so I could send a picture and discuss the products that I needed to rectify her hair from a shop bought hair dye. With my order now at the till and my partner picking up - I am so impressed with the level of service and product knowledge. I can't thank you enough - you are a real asset to Sally's - Thankyou again Carole x

If I could leave zero stars I would

If I could leave zero stars I would. We visited the Zeir Road location in Madison, WI a few minutes ago and I have never felt like such an inconvenience by a retail employee. When asked questions about where to find an item they would sigh and point in the general direction of where to find it. When we confirmed our questions the same attitude was maintained and sounded more like they just wanted us to go away then get us the products we needed. I will only visit this location if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary for the products I need.

In the Cape Coral Store on Del Prado…

In the Cape Coral Store on Del Prado Blvd, I get items that I needed. Checking out I'm asked if I need a bag, I say of course, I had several items, and the cashier says to me the bag is $0.15. What? Really, you are going to charge me for a bag to put the $30 worth of products I purchased? She says to me in her hispanic accent - "In my country we don't get bags." My response was "This is America, not your country!" Looks like corporate greed at Sally Beauty has taken over. I suppose the cost of bags for customers will affect the CEO's wife or mistresses fur coats and other trinkets! My days of shopping in this store are OVER!

DO NOT get the Sally's credit card

DO NOT get the Sally's credit card. I signed up because they offed a $30 discount on my in-store order. Not even 1 month later & whoever handles the Sally's CC reported to Experian I haven't paid my bill. I havent even received the credit card or bill yet! I contacted Sally's & they said
"The Sally Beauty Rewards credit card application process is handled by a third party, so we would not have any information on the status of your credit card application or the details about your application acceptance. You would have to contact the credit card company customer service directly."

No name of the company that they use, just contact "them" Who is them!?

Upon entering the store

Upon entering the store, I was greeted. My review is not about the customer service but brand policy. I purchased a conditioner and hair color. After paying and receiving my receipt, I asked for a bag. I was told a bag cost 15 cents. I should not have to pay to carry out products I purchased. Shame on Sally Beauty. I’ll stick with Walmart, Target and the drug stores.

More info on Sally UK MD.

It seems like several people here in the UK have been having problems with Sally Beauty shops and not been able to get in touch with their head office. It is possible that these shops are part of Sally Beauty Inc which is a global American company headquartered in Denton Texas but I have been unable to verify that. The UK Managing Director of Sally UK is Warren Scarr and his email addresses can be found on his web page for Sally UK.
It may be worth contacting him to see if these shops are part of this American company.

I had the worst experience at Sally…

I had the worst experience at Sally Beauty Supply store (2005)Sylacauga Alabama. When you purchase an item at the store ,if you do not purchase a bag you have to take your items out of the store in your hand or place them in your purse. The brown Sally gift bag is 15 cents. Also my friend was there on last week Saturday, August 14 she experience the same thing. She purchase several items and had to drop all items in her purse. This is awful. I will no longer shop at Sally Beauty Supply due to poor customer service

horrendous customer service

horrendous customer service. Payment was taken from my account despite not making an order.

They couldn't even write on email that I would need to speak to my bank so that I could start the process.

Really disgusted at how unhelpful they were to a victim of fraud

Horrible website and app

You have one of the worst websites I've ever used. I attempted to order online earlier this year, but had so many issues with the site that I was forced to download the app. 2 days of frustration later, I was finally able to place my order. This time, I'm having the same issue. Only this time, the app is also being ridiculous. Thanks for nothing. Guess I'll just find all the products at another store, because I'm done trying to use your site/ app.

A nasty experience

At first I thought am I one of the rare customers who has found this company despicable however after reading others reviews it confirmed that I am not alone. I am not a professional hairdresser so I looked at their website to purchase a hair colour, as the public can purchase products. I guided myself by the description given for the colours. I also looked at advice regarding which peroxide should be used. I ordered a permanent colour that seemed would meet my needs. It claimed IT COVERS GREY HAIR. It arrived few days later and when I used it my roots turned light lilac instead of blonde. I contacted the customer service and was put through dozens of questions for days. In the end they denied that it was their responsibility that the colour was unsuitable. I explained I guided myself by the description and information provided on the website. In the end they denied that the peroxide I bought was advised on the website for covering grey hairs. They advise S-Pro mainly, and 20 volume. In the correspondence of my complaint they deny there is such advice given on the website.
In the meantime I enquired in a hairdressers salon and was told that particular colour is for highlights but this is not included in the information on the website.
I informed the Customer service and wrote to staff named Karen (generally very rude and inconsiderate, showing no sympathy) that I will go to a shop near where I live to discuss this face-to-face.Shockingly, Karen telephoned the shop to pre-warn them and then had the audacity to email me and inform me that 'the staff at the shop said they can do nothing and you have to come back to customer service'. I could hardly believe the unprofessional behaviour and the audacity this person had, or shall I say this is probably the company way of dealing with customers.
I went to a different Sally Beauty shop (in Finchley Central, London)and reported the case. From then on more lies started, although an employee stated that the company often misleads customers by putting disinformation on the website or lacking information. The lies and empty promises related to informing me that the manager will call and even after I called few times and finally spoke to the manager I was told they will call with some update- but none of this was fulfilled. They would also not provide email for the Head Office. I was told whoever is the general manager cannot be contacted directly, the name is unknown too. You are limited to speak with Customer service only and you end up having to deal with someone like Karen who has never heard of the word professionalism.
It has been an appalling experience and I wished to share this with other potential customers. I would suggest be careful when buying online - the information is misleading and poor. Then expect denials that will come from them if you complain, and they will never offer a replacement to at least apologise and let alone refund your money. I will be talking this complaint to the Trading Standards too. It is a miracle companies like these carry on and people buy from them- look at the less than 2 stars out of 5 reviews. That speaks volumes.

I want to know how and why the retinol…

I want to know how and why the retinol eye gel, all of .7 Oz can increase in price from $10.50 to $14.49 in approx. 2 years? I was in the Gilbert, Arizona store two weeks ago and was shocked to see it at $13.49. When I decided to,go back yesterday I paid $14.49! I complained to the sales girl and she had all kinds of excuses from taxes to comparing with other stores. It’s not taxes, it’s not increasing production costs, or even inflation. It’s because they CAN! I find it infuriating how we the people are being used and taken. I think I’ll start using olive oil or plain old Vaseline at night and it will probably work just fine! And why are you charging for a bag?

This has nothing to do with the product…

This has nothing to do with the product they sell. I have on several attempts gone to different locations within my city and the staff is annoyed to have someone in store. The product on shelf is often missing so that the on hand indicator online is unreliable. I tried to use a coupon, I was told I could not use the full value for no reason. I received a secondary coupon for my issue and then again was told I could not use it, but if I ordered online it would work just fine. If I wanted to online shop, I would use Amazon. So do what Sally's wants you to do, go elsewhere.

Colour change on peroxide developer

Have any other hairdressers bought the S-Pro peroxide and noticed the colour coding has changed
40 Vol has always been blue and they changed their colours to one standard colour where the gradient got darker as the stength got higher
I have been informed due to several complaints, they have took this feedback on board and reverted back to the old style colours in July 2020
I can see from the website the colours are still showing as the gradient getting darker. Sally's have failed to advise me of this colour change so failed in their duty of care to advise these changes when buying this product

Appalling behaviour from Grantham staff

I visited the store on two separate occasions. On the first visit it was clear that the staff were incorrectly trained on Mask Exemptions. On the second visit the staff denied me access to the store even though there were no other customers present. I reported it to their Head Office who's customer service is appalling. They stated they would re-train their staff correctly but by their overall communcation, it was clear that they have no interest in their customers. It was the first and last time I will shop in this store.
