Unfortunately the non-stick coating on my Urban Chef pan started to peel last week. I e-mailed Samuel Groves & Chantelle responded immediately, literally a few hours later! In less than one wee... See more

Global interest in British design and manufacturing has never been higher and Samuel Groves is building on this golden opportunity by continuing to invest in manufacturing equipment to produce the very best cook and bakeware at their manufacturing site in Birmingham.
Few suppliers of hospitality products go back as far as Samuel Groves. This venerable Birmingham-based manufacturer of kitchen equipment started in 1817. The big take-off into hospitality supply came during the Second World War when Samuel Groves won a major government contract to produce aluminium trays, with many other items for the Ministry of Works and the War Office being added soon after. This helped reinforce the foundations of the modern business, which gained a major boost from the introduction of the Mermaid brand at the beginning of the 1950s.
Samuel Groves encompasses all facets of manufacturing including Metal Cutting, Presswork, Metal Spinning, Welding, Fabrication and Injection Moulding. In addition, we are able to design and manufacture our own tooling in house.
Even though the market and indeed cooking practices have evolved over the years, Samuel Groves quality and processes have improved. We remain traditional manufacturers and every product we are proud to say is still hand-finished. We have been a manufacturer in Birmingham for close to 200 years, some of the skills that will be used in the factory today will have been used all throughout those 200 years.
Every range produced at our factory, we believe is the best you can buy, whether that’s our robust stainless steel 3-ply cookware, or timeless Mermaid anodised bakeware.

Fantastic product customer made and then shipped and delivered without any hitches. Delighted !

Extreme delays for delivery. Ordered in September, was not going to arrive until apparently after Christmas. Unacceptable customer service. No information on delays until I chose to get in contact. Then untruthful initial response and terribly vague second response. Order was then cancelled by myself. I will never purchase from you again.

Fantastic pan, probably the best we have ever bought. To be able to buy British is a rarity these days.

Beautiful pans, cooking with them is a joy! High quality means less heat needed, and they don’t stick.

I have a wonderful son who buys me Samuel Groves pans for birthdays & Christmas so I'm gradually building quite a collection. I love both the classic and the carbon steel. Expensive but beautifully made, long lasting (if you use them properly) & made in the UK.

Overall terrible experience. Order a Chef’s pan with delivery stated as for mid-July and this was consistently pushed back. I wasn’t even sent updated I had to keep checking in with the team. I eventually got a refund.
Lid handle very hot to touch while cooking. Detail not included in the description (although there is an image of a man touching a lid with bare hands) and when I contacted them the only thing they were interested in was whether I had used the pan. When I said yes, they say they wouldn’t accept a return. Not worth the money, not a good experience.

Samuel Grove has been absolutely fantastic. The pans are of such high quality, and the service is second to none. I badly burnt my pan, but the team were able to salvage it. They truly are plans for life.

I purchased the 16,18,20cm saucepan set. The quality, finish and performance of the pans are excellent. I have tested the company’s aftercare service and it has been exceptional. It surpassed my expectations and also showed that buying a product which is manufactured in England was definitely the right move. Thank you so much Samuel Groves, you are AWSOME!

I received my 24cm Stainless steel non stick chefs pans, one with a lid, this year and after a few times of using one of them the non stick started to break down.
I telephoned Chantelle and she organised for a courier to pick it up so they could check it.
They decided to send a new replacement, free of charge, which I received very quickly.
I am very happy with the customer service and the high quality of the chef pans.

I have just purchased a 20cm copper induction frying pan and I could not be happier. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding. Yes it’s an expensive frying pan, but the quality speaks for itself. You buy cheap, you buy twice. It wasn’t the quickest of delivery, but when it’s handmade to order what would you expect. Definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend this product and the company.

I bought a Samuel Grove frying non-stick frying pan and was impressed by their offer of a lifetime guarantee. The non-stick coating on the pan is destroyed despite extremely careful use and attempts to contact their customer service to utilise the guarantee are futile. They offered to replace the pan then stopped responding to messages and have failed to replace it. Don’t waste your money.

Fantastic pan. Finally I can make a lovely omelette! I love how evenly the heat spreads and how perfectly the food is cooked. No toxic residue, and very easy to clean. Worth every penny.

Pans bought as a gift, so don't know how they are doing. As they are made to order, they do take a bit of time to come. They looked great. Good to be able to support British manufacturers.
