I had a terrible time(@30 minutes) before being able to talk to a person. I had tried to use on-line banking and it changed to Dovenmuhle rather than SANTANDER. I downloaded Santander app and it was... See more

Financing through Santander has been a headache. Setting up the online account was difficult and confusing, and getting help was frustrating. For a large bank, the process feels outdated and poorly supported. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

I sent my car payment on the 5th of january,2026 and a week later it was sent back to my bank so then I had to resend it today the 13th of january,2026 which makes no sense and was a waste of my time and could have costed me a late fee and or a bad report to my credit bureau

Customer should be given a choice to pay for monthy payment a few days or a week before the actual due date.
That option is not there.
It is frustrating !!!

The website kept giving directions to go to MyAccount but that never showed up no matter what I did. This one of the most unintuitive websites I have encountered

After you create an account on your website, it will not let you log in again! I have been paying on my loan for 5 years and I still cannot get into the website. I have called customer service seven times asking for my monthly bill to be mailed and I still have not yet received my paper bills! I will never finance a vehicle through this bank again! 😡

I submitted a payment check for my car payoff, following the company's instructions. The company received the check, credited my account, and then reversed the transaction. They never contacted me to explain the reason or to provide notification. They claim my check was returned, but it has been over two weeks, and I have not received the check. This is unacceptable.

I paid off my load and there was a small $330.00 ish overpayment that was returned via check. The check was misplaced and is now stale dated and customer service said they would reissue the check. That was over a month ago and now I cannot speak to a live person.

This company falsely reported to my credit that I was 30 days late on a payment when I was not.
Payments due on 18th of each month.
I paid on the 4th.
There has never been a 30 day late Payment.

I know some people might read this and think I made a bad decision, and that’s fair. I’m not writing this review to argue with anyone or avoid responsibility. I’m sharing my experience so that others don’t rush into the same situation I did.
I financed a 2024 Ford Mustang through Santander. My credit was not perfect, but it also wasn’t terrible. I put $5,000 down, had good income, and was approved quickly. What I didn’t fully understand at the time was that the loan came with a 22.56% APR. That number was never clearly explained while signing. The entire process focuses on excitement—driving the car, feeling accomplished—until paperwork is placed in front of you and you’re rushed to sign.
My monthly payment was over $900, and after months of paying, I realized I was mostly paying interest. My balance barely moved, and I still owed more than $35,000. It honestly felt like I was working hard every month just to stay in the same place financially. At one point, my on-time payments also stopped appearing consistently on my credit report, even though I was told everything was being reported.
I fully accept that I signed the contract, but approval does not mean the loan is fair or reasonable. Looking back, I should have walked away, bought a used car, improved my credit, and waited. That option isn’t exciting, but financially it makes much more sense.
After improving my credit, I refinanced with another bank at under 10%, and the difference was huge. The stress disappeared, and it showed me how damaging this loan really was.
I’m posting this to warn others. Please slow down, read every number, ask questions, and don’t let excitement push you into a decision that can follow you for years. If this helps even one person think twice, then it’s worth sharing.

Recently refinanced my truck through Santander. In Missouri, the original title is kept by the vehicle owner and the lienholder is named on the face of the title. When the lien is satisfied, the lender sends a lien release. Santander received my title and will not send it to my DMV without some form being faxed to them from the DMV. I have bought and sold dozens of vehicles in my life and have never went through this. Santander will eventually be named in a class action suit by all the people who they have held titles for. * Cue automated response from Santander requesting I call their title team. Just to get in front of that, I have already spent an hour of my day on the phone with them and it does no good. This is going to be a long process of talking to people in India who cannot tell me where my title is.

They keep gatekeeping my loan contract and promissory note for me to submit my gap insurance. I have been reaching out for 3 weeks and they keep telling me to wait a week for this document that they have NOW. I have paid off the car and they still will not provide me the documentation needed for me to get a new car. The worst customer service they will not provide results. They will answer your complaints with generic messages and will not try to resolve issues. Please avoid doing business with this company because they will not help and the AI chat will not provide results just will give you a run around about the issue.

Unable to log in. I set up my account and followed all of the instructions. I was sent a passcode and it wouldn't work. I was resent another passcode, that too did not work and now I am locked out.
