I paid £6,100 for an Executive Membership with Sara Eden Introductions, marketed as a bespoke, premium matchmaking service.

I was guaranteed five introductions but received only three, with long delays and poor communication.

Several matches were clearly incompatible with preferences I had repeatedly and explicitly communicated. These included:
- A match significantly outside my stated age range
- A match who was still legally married
- A match whose parental circumstances were misrepresented
- Matches whose personalities and lifestyles directly conflicted with my clearly stated sociable nature, despite this being discussed with the matchmaker beforehand

This strongly suggested a generic matching approach rather than a genuinely bespoke or carefully curated service.

I requested a partial refund due to services not being delivered as agreed. In August 2025, I was told the matter had been escalated to management. Five months later, there has been no update or resolution despite multiple follow-ups.

For a service at this price point, this level of delivery and complaint handling is unacceptable. I would advise others to think very carefully before committing.

As a widow of a certain age 😉 I had given up hope of finding love again. Then a friend told me Sara-Eden now cater for mature single, widowed or divorced, age is just a number! My hope is restored and I look forward to joining Sara - Eden for a second time. Who knows if I meet my match? Whatever the outcome it’s always pleasant to go out for a coffee or dinner, getting to know more people. If the spark isn’t there, at least it’s time well spent and the possibility of just being friends. No one wants to be lonely especially as the years tick by. Thank you Sara - Eden for looking out for ‘retirees’ with no incumbencies ready for the next phase in life💕

The moment you step through the door you know you are in safe professional hands. Nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel very protected with like minded individuals being sought for you. Discretion and accessibility very much their ethos at all times. I cannot fault them. Penny

Sara Eden introduced Keith and I back in September 1999. We both found the staff very friendly and helpful. They had a good knowledge of the people on their books and could speak with genuine warmth about suitable future matchings. Keith and I got married in August 2003 and we are just about to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary by going back to stay at Pendley Manor in Tring, where we were married. I have now met several, very happily married couples who have met and married through Sara Eden and they are so perfectly matched that now I recommend them to everyone I know! Friendly, helpful staff and they have a really high success rate of finding people a life partner. If I wasn’t married, I would join them myself!

I took out the Personal Consultant Membership with a guarantee of a minimum of 8 introductions. I would also be “put forward to suitable new members as a matter of priority over other membership levels, greatly increasing my chance of success”. This raised the membership fee from approx. £3000 to £7000, sadly this did not happen once.

I relied on the consultant’s knowledge of these men as to who would be a good match for me

I shall end my review with a list of good and not so good points, but here are my 11 introductions and my reasons for disappointment:

1 He made quite a long list of his ideal travels, but when I met him he said he hadn’t been away for four years
2 We exchanged texts but he didn’t call me
3 He was a transatlantic pilot in his profile. In fact he was being retired due to ill health
4 He had not been shown my profile originally. He only saw it when he asked for a refund due to not being matched to people in his criteria
5 At the time he was due to call me Sara Eden called to say he had just frozen his membership
6 He was fun but totally unsuitable, spending his holiday time in Thailand, not mentioned in his profile
7 This gentleman called me, he was moving to the West Country, saying he would be too far away. He made it obvious he had felt pressured to call me
8 I met this man but I’m afraid I can’t remember him
9 His profile stated he owned his own home. In fact he had sold it 2 years earlier and had been living in a hotel abroad. Worrying as he had been in the Sara Eden office the day before
10 I text this man, he did not call
11 I met this gentleman, we had a very pleasant evening but agreed we weren’t for each other

I could go in to far more detail why these introductions weren’t a success but don’t want to send you to sleep! I never wished for a second date with any

I raised my concerns with my membership in May 2019. At a later date I asked Karen, the director who had interviewed me, to become involved. I was told this would be a priority but she didn’t call.

Other points:
I updated my profile, and when I asked for a copy 3 months later they had left out my lead photo
They were very good at allowing me to freeze my membership and exceed the time allowed in the contract
My meetings were always friendly and enjoyable but I often had to chase the company for replies to my emails
They do state that an exchange of telephone numbers is considered an introduction
During covid I was not notified when the company reopened
We are told as members to contact the ABIA (Association of British Introduction Agencies) if not satisfied with the service. Karen Moody, the director of Sara Eden, has been a member since 1989 and is now press officer. I called and emailed them many times with no reply, but Sara Eden told me the ABIA had been in contact with them regarding me! I asked Sara Eden to ask the ABIA to contact me but they said they were unable to do this.

I really don’t feel I had value for money, although the company kept to their contract I don’t consider I had an adequate service

A caring Company whose employees are well organized and most professional. Time is taken with each member along with subtle and discreet guidance and encouragement given when required. With an excellent reputation in the market place Sara Eden have proved themselves as a most efficient and reliable company. I would highly recommend them.

Absolutely appalling company.
They have a distinct lack of male clients and constantly recycle the same names and faces - even after they are made aware that someone has already been considered and discounted.
Staff are not available every weekly working day and one has to fit in with their availability.
Requested a partial refund and justified it identifying where they had breached their own T&C's, response totally ignored the issues raised.
To anyone considering using this agency - light a bonfire for the money outlay you are considering, you might just get more satisfaction

I would thoroughly recommend Sara Eden when looking for that special person. Karen, Angela, Cathy, Debbie and the Team are very professional in their approach. I have had experience of other Introduction Agencies (at considerably higher fees) and always found that at Sara Eden they "got me" and matched me with more suitable Ladies than the competition. I felt I was dealt with as a person rather than just a profile and although on the lower tier membership always felt Sara Eden provided a matchmaking service with that personal touch.

Everyone at Sara Eden are so friendly, approachable, understanding and professional. I have known this Business for 20 years, and it gives so much confidence when you see just how many happy couples, weddings and babies are a result of the fantastic efforts of Karen and her team. They really go all out to understand who you are and what you are looking for in a relationship. I can not recommend more highly.

I have recommended a number of my friends over a 20 year period to Sara Eden. I have no worries about introducing friends because I know they will be treated with professionalism, integrity - and humour at times! Two of my friends have found marriage and wonderful partners. Others have had delightful long term relationships. None have regretted going through the Sara Eden ‘experience’. I can only say if you’re worried about dating - don’t be with their help

Both professional and considerate - the Sarah Eden experience is a wonderful experience and will hopefully end up with me meeting the man of my dreams but even if not, it will have been fun trying!

I've been a member with Sara Eden on two occasions and have found the experience extremely positive - it's a difficult journey and Debbie, karen and Lindsey have been incredibly supportive with me - we're not always easy and our personal expectations often need some delicate managing. Sara Eden are a positive step, it's not a fast track business you need to take your time and take the positive feedback. Joining Sara Eden has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I joined after a friend of mine suggested it as she'd met her husband through them. The SE team are really friendly and helpful and I am meeting some lovely ladies. I'm feeling really hopeful I'll be meeting my life partner through them!

Having been married for 15 years it wasn't easy to be single again. I need not have worried, the staff at SE were amazing, made me feel comfortable and listened to my needs.

You will not regret signing up, a great experience and worth the investment, after all its your entire future you are investing in.

I’ve been a member for a few months now and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Sara Eden team are wonderful, experienced, friendly and helpful but not afraid to be honest with me! I’ve met a few really nice men - not recently obviously! I’m chatting and getting to know a really super man now and can’t wait for our first actual meeting - thank goodness for Skype!
