Used SBB trains to go from Zurich airport to Zermatt and back. The cost was comparable to taking a private transfer. The journey back was chaos, as they seemed unprepared to deal with the traffic comi... See more

Rude train driver & too expensive
Train driver decided to lock the doors 30 seconds before departing.
Besides that point, the tickets are way too expensive.
SBB,CFF, FFS without any rule
I bought a class One ticket for the holidays and back from Milan to relax. Many passengers entered this class and everyone sat wherever they wanted. Everyone spoke very loudly and there was no ticket controller there. The toilets were very dirty and there was a very bad smell in the first class. Should the Swiss transport system look like this? This is very terrible.
Klasse sehr schlecht. Sollte das Schweizer Transportsystem so aussehen? Das ist sehr schrecklich.
Delayed and unreliable when you need it…
Delayed and unreliable when you need it the most.
Absolute trash public transport system.
Absolute trash public transport system.
The trains smell like urine, there's sticky stains near the restroom. They don't control people playing loud music or putting their bag on a seat.
Also if you want to buy a ticket that includes return you'll be issued a ticket valid since 0:00 on that day to 24:00. Change your mind and want a refund before your scheduled train ride? You can't ask for a refund because you didn't ask for it the DAY BEFORE, before the ticket is scheduled to be in effect. They try to scam people out of money like this. Never trust them and always buy one way tickets as needed though I'm sure they price those higher to scam out of more money.
Oh and let's not forget the SBB app always showing the wrong price. You think you'll get a ticket for 30chf? WRONG. You'll be greeted with a 60chf price tag or more unless you subscribe to the halbtax. Absolute deviant behavior from these scammers.
Europeans are always telling us about…
Europeans are always telling us about how great their transportation system is. Please, the Switzerland is the new country, simply the worst, they delayed my train for one hour, they offered us an unsuitable alternative route, where they wanted to stack us like sardines, I didn't make my end destination, I had to deal with a racist info person, and than no compensation (please people outside Europe stop saying compensation and whatever: customer service is the worst in Europe)
I know no one will read this comment I just want to give the SBB 0 stars.
The SBB website works just fine
The SBB website is fast, efficient and better price than outside vendors.
Too busy and too hot
Too busy because the train it too short and way too hot because they don’t use air conditioning or use it to a hot setting. Never again with these dishonest people
Unfriendly personnel
Unfriendly personnel: even though we had the tickets (and they aren’t expensive for no reason!!) they were mean for no reason and arguing that it wasn’t valid because of a one letter mistake in the name.
I’m shocked that we payed so much for the tickets and had to face such an attitude.
I don’t understand the reason of this attitude towards their customers.
People aren’t meant to be paying so much for their tickets to be treated this way!
Train and bus not showing up
Train and bus not showing up
Always a problem with the doors and 20 min delay
App not saying anything when the bus isn’t coming. No driver for the bus and alway late made me miss my flights trains and more
Trash system🤮
Pathetic service
Pathetic service. You buy a first class ticket and there is no water in toilets to flush or wash hands.
Freakin rude guy old man waitress on…
Freakin rude guy old man waitress on their restaurant. Worst hospitality from train all around Europe so far. I thought Swiss people are a nice people. Literally shocking when the waitress was YELLING at me cause I just wanted to see their menu from the book. Horrible service. Do not take this train if you don’t want to have same experience (from Munich to Zurich - 17 June 2025) Better find another company if you can. Or this company literally need re training their employees tbh

Disrespectful Treatment on Geneva Airport Train – 1st Class Passenger
I feel compelled to share an extremely disappointing experience I had while travelling from Geneva to the airport on your train service. My companion and I had valid first-class tickets and had taken our seats accordingly. Moments later, a ticket attendant approached and without properly checking our tickets, loudly announced to the entire carriage:
“If you take a good look around – this is 1st class! You should be sat elsewhere!”
The accusation was public, humiliating, and completely uncalled for. We immediately clarified that we did in fact hold first-class tickets, at which point he checked again and offered an apology. But by then, the damage had already been done. We were deeply embarrassed in front of an entire cabin of passengers, an experience no traveller should be subjected to, regardless of their class of travel.
I am a frequent traveller in both economy and first class and have never encountered such an aggressive and assumptive tone from railway staff. The attendant’s behaviour was not only unprofessional but also unnecessarily shaming.
To make matters worse, I reported this to your customer service team and received a dismissive response that lacked any genuine care or accountability.
A simple apology from the attendant, only after we defended ourselves, was far from adequate. Staff should be trained to approach all passengers with respect and without assumption or prejudice.
This experience has left me questioning the standard of your service and the values your company upholds when it comes to treating paying customers with basic dignity.
I sincerely hope this matter is taken more seriously going forward, not just for us but for every future passenger who deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of how they look or where they sit
Ridiculous Prices
Too Expensive. Way too much delays or even cancellation. Way too less seats in the 2nd class. 1st class is always almost empty.
horrid ticket collector
horrid ticket collector, snatched my phone, was rude and interrupted me, wanted to argue for no reason, someone must have forgot to tell her ww2 ended
Actually no star
Actually no star! Nothing starlike today! On my way to the airport and all trains delayed. Chaos everywhere and even the personnel have no clue! I have not had a positive experience on a Swiss train in 4 years. Thanks for nothing
Lost phone on a train
Lost my phone on a train & an employee at Lauterbrunnen found it & returned it. So grateful. And a wonderful few days using Swiss Pass, wish UK trains were as reliable!
Service doesn’t match cost
You buy a first class ticket paying over the double of a normal one (138€), with prices keeping increasing since 4 years ago, and then the train misses half the wagons that it should have. Making everyone sit anywhere, having to claim your own paid seat and losing the whole idea of space and calmness for which you decided to purchase a first class ticket in the first place. Incompetent and unprofessional
Incompetence and Poor Customer Service
I am beyond furious with the complete mess SBB has caused with my international ticket (Milano-Zug). I went to the office where an agent personally gave me the ticket, and it was absolutely wrong—with no return connection as promised. Despite me checking everything at the time of purchase and being reassured that everything was fine, I got stuck in Lugano late at night with no way to get home. This is not just a minor mistake—it’s a massive inconvenience and a huge failure on SBB’s part.
I sent them all the evidence, and what do they do? Instead of owning up to their mistake, they blame ME for not triple-checking the tickets. Are you kidding me? It’s not my job to micromanage SBB’s errors. I trusted them to issue the right ticket, and they failed.
And then, as if it couldn’t get worse, instead of refunding my hotel expenses like a decent company would, they put it on my SwissPass account—who the hell needs that? It’s clear that SBB has no interest in properly addressing their screw-up or providing any real customer service. This has been nothing but a total disaster from start to finish, and I am absolutely disgusted with how they’ve handled it.
In conclusion, I would expect a company like SBB to take responsibility for their mistakes and fix the situation properly. But instead, they’ve shown complete disregard for their customers. Absolutely appalling.
