These are the most racist people I have ever dealt with. This was the worst experience I’ve had in Switzerland, and it made me genuinely question whether I feel welcome here as a brown person. I... See more

Terrible experience abo-wise
Impossible for a normal person to buy abo from station to station online. One needs to go to their office to have a specialist to pick an abo for you.
Also I had an abo once, and I can't just renew it, it is not showing in my old orders.......................................
The usual swiss money grabbing…
The usual swiss money grabbing technique. The website shows half price ticket first and when you want to purchase...boom...your price doubles. This is perfectly in-line with the long standing swiss culture.
Horrible experience - DO NOT USE
Horrible experience getting on the train and storing our luggage. SBB team paid no attention to who gets on or off the train, spent the whole time catching up with one another, and took no responsibility for ensuring the safety of our belongings. As a result, someone stole one of our suitcases right off the train in the brief period on the platform in Geneva.
dumbass bus driver to 515 to Bülach…
dumbass bus driver to 515 to Bülach bahbhof in neerach post when i went inside the bus at 19:39 made a dumb disrespectful comment cause I took a couple of seconds before going in the bus. Go pick ur staff the right way, I dont have no nerves getting disrespected like that when i wanna go bout my day
Pay more, travel less to keep costs down
Diebstahl! Pay more, travel less!
The cheaper day card after 9h was discontinued a few years ago.
The half fare travel card costs significantly more if automatically renewed annually than if cancelled and a new one purchased. Customer fidelity does not pay!
To get a cheaper day card requires booking in advance but passengers may need a same day ticket. Booking in advance is a poor option for leisure travel as the tickets cannot be refunded and unforeseen circumstances, such as the weather, to name one example, which would ruin a day’s cannot be predicted.
It does not take the needs of those on low incomes and pensioners into account who may like to travel for leisure, visit friends and family or for medical appointments, etc.
The solution is less travel to reduce costs with deprivation or take to the already congested roads for greater convenience!
I was once a frequent traveller with after 9h day cards but sadly no more. I prefer the freedom of the full fare day card but now travel very seldom and require a good reason to do so. Surely the enterprise profits more by selling this cheaper option so more people travel more.
A once wonderful train service and a joy to travel on where customers were treated as king or queen. No hassle, no stress, they were just left to sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery with bar service right at their seat. What happened?
In fact a friend, a mere dentist, was tickled pink, when back in the U.K. his ski hat and gloves he left on a train arrived at his home a few days later and addressed to Sir X Xyz with compliments and at no cost to him!

Eurocity Geneva-Milan
The train Geneva-Milan is a sheer joke.Always late, dirty, expensive.I took this train a number of time and each time there is something happening. On the last trip, a regional train arrived on the platform, instead of the expected Eurocity train. The train was only going as far as Brig, but they didn't announce anything at the station.Once on the regional train, they announced stops such as Domodossola, Milan and Venezia, even though the train was not going there and you had to change at Brig! The ticket inspector commented that the important is to get to destination.Shocking response.A joke.
Expensive and stuck in 2010
Extremely expensive. Despite being in 2023, there were no accessible outlets in any wagon. I couldn't connect to their WiFi as it required you to have a Swiss telephone number to register.
The only positive thing was that it took me from point A to B accordingly.
Other than that, very dissapointed.
Their price policy is a joke
Their price policy is a joke. They write they have tickets for a certain price. Let's say price "from 50 CHF". But that is not really an adult ticket, it is a half ticket that only applies to children or dogs. You can only discover the real full fare for adults at the end of the check-out.
Simply: you suck
Completely overcrowded train: the only carriage where there is room is first class. I stand by the door and the staff gives me a ticket because my train pass is only for second class. Wake up, you have to use your brains! You should be ashamed of yourselves for the service you offer.
I use it to go to work 3 times a week
I use it to go to work 3 times a week, and almost every week something happens. They don’t take any responsibility. I wrote several complaints, they didn’t even bother to respond. My favorite event was running to catch the train after my tram was late. I managed to get in last minute right before the door would close. I got fined for buying the ticket after the train left. Icing on the cake that I told the control my story who told me “all good just buy it in advance next time” 2 days later I got the letter that I had no ticket. Not only I bought a whole day ticket for 50CHF but I also got to pay for the fine.
Rude, arrogant, robotic staff
Rude, arrogant, robotic and badly trained staff on the trains. No one to complain to as the customer service is simply useless. Do not expect to have a pleasant experience when choosing to travel with SBB.
horrible customer "service".
Terrible ticket checkers
terrible service activated my ticket 30 seconds late because I was running onto the train and received a 90 chf fine even though I had my ticket absolute mockery.
Expensive
Expensive, very often late and does not help customers.
I know there are far worse services in other countries, but this is Switzerland and the tickets are extemely expensive.
Trains are often late and super crowded. Now that Alptransit is even closed they gave no benefits to customers. Very disappointing.
For all the foreign people who use this…
For all the foreign people who use this trains becareful, they have 1st and 2nd class almost in the same carriages, if you accidentally seated in the 1st class you will get a fine, eventhough there is no info about that in nowhere (but is the democracy and the rules in switzerland). Becareful with this people it looks like a scam, they will give fine almost because you breathe. If have the chance take a bus or a taxi is less expensive and you don’t have what it looks like a scam to take your money.
Always overcrowded, often late and never cheap!
The price of the tickets is ridiculous for the service offered. I am forced to use this company every day (line Visp-Zermatt) and every day there is a probelm, summer and winter. The trains are never on time and most of the time I have to sit on the floor because there are not enough sits for the amount of people, I don’t understand why they don’t put more carriages on the trains especially during peak weeks (often the trains leaving from Zermatt have only 2 or 3 wagons, of which one an half reserved for 1st class only). And when you are there sitting on the floor, the ticket inspector also has the gall to come and ask for the tickets, often in a rude way.
Looking at the reviews they keep on receiving it looks like they don’t care at all about improving their service, they have the monopole and they don’t care about their customers who do not have any other option than using this company.
Very unfriendly Staff
Very unfriendly Staff. Train from Olten to Zurich was completely full second class. People are not even allowed to sit on stair of 1.st class.
best train experience
I have my best train experience with SBB in europe. It is much much more reliable and nicer than DB. Every time when I enter Swiss border I feel released because SBB is always punctural and the employees are nice.
Rude and unhelpful staff
We had to deal with rude and unhelpful staff at Thun SBB office and in the train from Interlaken to Thun. They're a shame for tourists. We've travelled all over the world for more than 20 years and we encountered in Switzerland by far the most antipathic, greddy and unwelcome people.
SBB delays are very regular.
I am using GA more then 7 years. Trains are now over full. Delayes are very regular and not informed before.. In weekend the same route you have to add extra one hr as the construction work is going on..(which never ends). People are standing for more then one hr journey. Think of it one work full day by standing/walking and then hell this happen that you dont get seat in train for more then 1 hr journey to home from ZH Airport till Bern.
